Well it all started when I was about 15 and my parents got me interested in genealogy. When I was 18 I went into the Navy, where I was a photographer. For several years I had my new career, and then my new family, to keep me busy and I didn’t do any genealogy. One day I got an email from a person researching my maiden name, and the next thing I knew I was bit by the bug again. I am married and have a son who is 18 years old, who went off to the Navy Aug 25th, first for boot camp and then their intensive Nuke training. My family thinks I'm a bit loony because I spend time in cemeteries and tracing history. My husband loves to learn about history just not his own. At this point I have been mostly finding documentation for the information I have gathered from many other sources to make sure that all the information that has been gathered is accurate. Work takes me to DC several times a year, where I started copying my family's military records. I have most of my direct line so I have started on getting all of the Sackett military records. Even though I will eventually get them all I am willing to look for any specific ones if any one has any requests. I take digital pictures of the documents so there is only a minimal cost for each record. |
