Erastus Sacket, of Pittsfield, Mass., son of (44) Joseph and Abigail ___ Sacket, was married in May, 1747, to Elisabeth Leonard, 1730–__?, daughter of Abel Leonard and his wife Elisabeth, of Springfield, Mass. His name appears in the list of patriots who, in August, 1776, marched from Pittsfield to Ticonderoga under command of Sergeant Caleb Goodrich, and remained in the field three months and a day. He is also credited with marching from Pittsfield in the latter part of June, 1777, under command of Capt. John Strong, to Fort Ann, and remaining in the field for three weeks and three days.

Jonathan Sacket, son of Jonathan Sacket and Anne Filer, was born in Hebron, Tolland County, ConnecticutG, on 26 December 1727.1,2 He died aged 49 in Warren, Litchfield County, ConnecticutG, on 3 April 17772 and was buried at the Old Cemetery, WarrenG.4 He married at HebronG on 10 November 1748, Hannah Phelps, daughter of Noah Phelps and Ann Dyer.2,3 Hannah was born in HebronG on 28 February 1726/27. She died in 1803.2
Jonathan was a founding, covenanting, member of the Congregational Church in Warren, attending the first "gathering" of the new church, held on 22 September 1756, probably at his father's home. His wife Hannah also "owned the covenant" by the end of that year. She was admitted to the church in Warren by letter from Hebron on 2 January 1757. Jonathan and Hannah were recorded in Warren church records as members in full communion in the Church of Christ, East Greenwich, on 29 June 1757 and 18 March 1772.5,6,7
Jonathan was named as a beneficiary in his father's will made in Kent, Litchfield County, ConnecticutG, on 12 June 1772. He was left £3 to be paid to him by his brother Justus and £4 to be paid to him by his brother Reuben. Jonathan's father had already left land to him in 1749, soon after his marriage.8

Deacon & Captain Justus Sacket, of Warren, Litchfield County, Connecticut, son of Jonathan Sacket and Anne Filer, was born in Hebron, ConnecticutG, on 9 March 1729/30.1,2 He died aged 85 in WarrenG on 16 March 18152,3 and was buried at the Old Cemetery, WarrenG.5,6,7 He married in Kent, Litchfield County, ConnecticutG, on 1 January 1756, Lydia Newcomb, 1738-1808, daughter of Benjamin Newcomb and Hannah Clark.4,2 Lydia was born about 1731.8 She died aged 77 in WarrenG on 16 November 18082,9 and was buried at the Old Cemetery, WarrenG.10
Justus was commissioned Captain of the Second Train Band of Kent (Warren), Connecticut, in 1765, and served in the American Revolutionary War.11

Unkle Justus is living and intended to go to New Connecticut this next fall but has yet to see his Son Salmon who lives there he lives in the town of Tallmadge but Unkle has net with a great misfortune. in the month of February last (I think it was) he was walking just out of doors when his feet Slipped from under him and as he fell he broke one of his thies so that he has not been able to walk one step on that leg Since nor is it likely that he ever will again for the bones do not unite and the soreness is gone so there is a large place in the thy, he can walk with Crutches if some body will Steady him. he has been to meeting several times this Summer They lift him in and out of the Waggon and So they Convey him to the Meetinghouse and back again, Unkle retains his Mental faculdies remarkably well. Unkles Children are all living, except Lydia, and well except Minervy. She has a feble Constitution, they are doing well — it is a general time of health here tho there is some Exceptions and some deaths.

203. Capt. Justus Sacket, 1730–1815, of Kent (now Warren), Conn., son of (47) Jonathan and Ann Filer Sacket, was married, in 1757, to Lydia Newcomb, 1738-1808, daughter of Benjamin Newcomb and his wife Hannah Clark. Capt. Sacket was born in East Greenwich (now Hebron), Conn., but in 1750 removed to and became a permanent resident of Kent. He there took an active part in religious, political and military affairs and gained and held the confidence and respect of his townsmen. His name appears in the list of founders of the first church established in Kent, and in 1753 he was appointed by the General Assembly of Connecticut to collect a tax levied against the property of East Greenwich for support of a minister of the Gospel. He was a Justice of the Peace from 1771 to 1777, and again from 1779 to 1782. In the year last named he represented his town in Connecticut Legislature. In 1765 he was commissioned Captain of the Second Train Band of the town of Kent, and during the War of the Revolution he participated in several short campaigns.

Reuben Sackett, son of Jonathan Sacket and Anne Filer, was born in Hebron, Tolland County, ConnecticutG, on 17 June 1732.1,2 He died aged 71 in Warren, Litchfield County, ConnecticutG, on 5 July 18032,3,4 and was buried at the Old Cemetery, WarrenG.8 He married in Kent (later Warren), Litchfield CountyG, on 21 December 1752, Mercy Finney, daughter of Dr John Finney and Ann Toogood.2,5,6,7 Mercy was born in Swansea, Bristol County, MassachusettsG, on 1 January 1729/30.6 She died aged 75 in Sharon, Litchfield CountyG, on 23 January 18059,10,11 and was buried at Hillside Cemetery, SharonG.10,12
Reuben and Mercy were admitted to membership of the Congregational Church of Christ, WarrenG, on 31 August 1760.13 They were listed on 18 March 1772 as members of the Church of Christ, East Greenwich, Fairfield County, ConnecticutG.14

During the American Revolutionary War, Reuben was a selectman and a member of a committee involved in patriotic service in Kent (Warren.)16

In 1790 Reuben was living in Warren, Litchfield County, ConnecticutG. In his household were one man, one boy, and three females.17
Reuben made his will in WarrenG on 19 March 1800. He provided for his wife Mercy during her lifetime. Of their children, three sons, Samuel, Aaron, and Cyrus, were living elsewhere. Reuben effectively left his estate to Alexander, the remaining son, conditional on his paying monetary amounts to his brothers, but with the option of a division of the estate should any of the brothers return within ten years. The personal estate, other than the household furniture, some livestock, and the use of the home lot, which was reserved to Reuben's widow, was divided up between Alexander and his three sisters, Aner, Mercy Lucinda, and Violitty, by voluntary agreement ratified at Court.18

Beneficiaries were her children, named as Samuel, Aroon, Sirus, Alexander, Anar Williams, Lucinda Fuller, and Voilet Beats. The first three, Samuel, Aaron, and Cyrus, were living some way away and would receive their inheritance if they returned and made claim within five years.

Reuben and Mercy were admitted to membership of the Congregational Church of Christ, WarrenG, on 31 August 1760.13 They were listed on 18 March 1772 as members of the Church of Christ, East Greenwich, Fairfield County, ConnecticutG.14
Reuben was named as a beneficiary in his father's will made in Kent, Litchfield County, ConnecticutG, on 12 June 1772.15
During the American Revolutionary War, Reuben was a selectman and a member of a committee involved in patriotic service in Kent (Warren.)16
Reuben was named as a beneficiary in his mother's will made in Litchfield County, ConnecticutG, in June 1783. He was left a one-third share of her estate.
In 1790 Reuben was living in Warren, Litchfield County, ConnecticutG. In his household were one man, one boy, and three females.17
Reuben made his will in WarrenG on 19 March 1800. He provided for his wife Mercy during her lifetime. Of their children, three sons, Samuel, Aaron, and Cyrus, were living elsewhere. Reuben effectively left his estate to Alexander, the remaining son, conditional on his paying monetary amounts to his brothers, but with the option of a division of the estate should any of the brothers return within ten years. The personal estate, other than the household furniture, some livestock, and the use of the home lot, which was reserved to Reuben's widow, was divided up between Alexander and his three sisters, Aner, Mercy Lucinda, and Violitty, by voluntary agreement ratified at Court.18
