Henry Sackett, sawyer, son of Richard Sackett and Rebecca Watten, was born in St John in Thanet, KentG, on 6 March 1774 and baptized there on 20 March 1774.1 He died aged 882 and was buried at St Peter in ThanetG on 7 November 1862.4 He married at St Lawrence in ThanetG on 3 August 1801, Elizabeth Sackett, his first cousin, daughter of John Sackett and Catherine Andrews.3
In 1841 Henry was living in Northwood, St Lawrence in Thanet, KentG, and was recorded in the census as Henry Sackett, a sawyer, aged 67 and born in Kent. Living with him were his wife Elizabeth, 62, and children, David, 24, Rebecca, 22, and James, 20.5

Richard Sackett, Cinque Ports pilot of Dover, Kent, son of Richard Sackett and Rebecca Watten, was born in St Peter in Thanet, KentG, on 1 December 1783 and baptized there on 25 December 1783.1 He died aged 79 in DoverG on 16 October 18632,3 and was buried at St Mary the Virgin, DoverG, on 21 October 1863.6 He married at St Leonard's, Deal, KentG, on 17 July 1809, Jane Kemp.4,5 Jane was born about 1785.7 She died aged 65 in DoverG on 25 January 18518,9 and was buried at St Mary the Virgin, DoverG, on 1 February 1851.8,10
Richard was not included in the census record of his household in 1841 and was possibly away at sea. His wife, Jane, was living at Middle Row, St Mary, Dover, KentG, and was recorded as Jane Sackett, the wife of a pilot, aged 50+ and born in Kent. The other members of the household were their children, William, 20+, Ann, 20+, Mary, 15+, William, 15+, and a female servant, Sarah Ralph.11
In 1851 he was living at 118 Snargate Street, DoverG, and was recorded as Richard Sackett, Cinque Ports pilot, head of household, a widower, aged 65 and born in Westwood, Kent. Living with him were his daughter Sarah Ann aged 20, and his grandson John aged 12.12
In 1861 he was living at 118 Snargate Street, DoverG, and was recorded as Richard Sackett, a retired pilot, head of household, a widower aged 76 and born at Hearn, Thanet, Kent. Living with him were his widowed daughter Elizabeth and unmarried daughter Sarah, and two 13-year-old nieces.13
Richard made his will in Dover, KentG, on 29 September 1854, naming as beneficiaries his daughters Elizabeth and Sarah to whom left his leasehold house at 118 Snargate Street, Dover, and his personal estate, valued at under £200. The will was proved at Canterbury on 9 November 1863.14

Edward Newing Sackett, shipwright of Bermondsey, Surrey, son of Jeremiah Sackett and Hannah Newing, was born in St Lawrence in Thanet, KentG, on 19 February 1780 and baptized there on 12 March 1780.1 He died aged 73 in BermondseyG,2 and was buried at St James' Church, BermondseyG, on 18 June 1853.3 He married Ann ___. Ann was born in IrelandG about 1781.4 She died aged 60 in BermondseyG,5 and was buried at St James' Church, BermondseyG, on 5 January 1842.6
Edward Newing Sackett became a shipwright apprentice in 1795.7
Edward was named as a beneficiary in his father's will made in Northwood, St Lawrence in Thanet, KentG, on 12 March 1838.8 He was to inherit a house next to that of his brother Benjamin at Sackett's Hill, St Peter's, and a half-share with his brother Benjamin in a third adjoining house. Edward and his brother Benjamin were also left jointly two houses at Northwood, one of which was occupied by their father's brother Edward and their father's great-niece Ann Darby who was the housekeeper. Edward and his brother were to provide financially for their aged uncle and for Ann.
In 1841 Edward was living at George Row, St Mary Magdalen, Bermondsey, SurreyG, and was recorded in the census as Edward Sackett, a shipwright, aged 60 and born outside Surrey. The other members of his household were his wife Ann, aged 55 and described as Irish, and his son Edward, aged 20.9
Edward Sackett, then of Rotherhithe, London, was issued a merchant seaman's ticket on 21 August 1845. He worked at sea as a carpenter on voyages in 1845 and 1846. The detailed record reveals that he was literate, 5' 8" in height, had dark grey hair, a fair complexion, hazel eyes, and had "E.S." tattooed on his right arm. He had first gone to sea as a carpenter in 1833.10

Benjamin Sackett, son of Jeremiah Sackett and Hannah Newing, was born in St Lawrence in ThanetG on 30 September 1789 and baptized there on 14 October 1789.1 He died aged 64 and was buried at St Lawrence in ThanetG on 25 January 1854.3,4,5 Benjamin's first partner, Ann Cox, died in childbirth in July 1811 following the birth of a son.6 Benjamin married at St George's Church, Hanover Square, Westminster, MiddlesexG, on 11 October 1815, Mary Gore, daughter of John Gore and Martha ___.2 Mary was born near Faversham, KentG, about 17877 and baptized at Eastling, KentG, on 18 March 1787.8 She died aged about 75 and was buried at St Lawrence in ThanetG on 7 October 1862.9,10
Benjamin was named as a beneficiary in his father's will made in Northwood, St Lawrence in Thanet, KentG, on 12 March 1838.11 He was to inherit the house in which he was already living at Sackett's Hill, St Peter's, and a half-share with his brother Edward in an adjoining house. Benjamin and his brother Edward were also left jointly two houses at Northwood, one of which was occupied by their father's brother Edward and their father's great-niece Ann Darby who was the housekeeper. Benjamin and his brother were to provide financially for their aged uncle and for Ann.
Benjamin did not remain at Sackett's Hill very long after his father's death.
In 1841 he was living at High Street, Ramsgate, KentG, and was recorded as Benjamine Sacket, a gardener, aged 50 and born in Kent. Living with him was his wife Mary, 50. Also in the household was a ten-year-old Mary Gore, presumably a relation of Benjamin's wife.12
In 1851 he was living at Pegwell, St Lawrence in Thanet, KentG, and was recorded as Benjamin Sackett, a gardener, head of household, married, aged 61, and born in St Lawrence. Living with him was his wife Mary, aged 63, and born in Faversham.13
