Mary Sackett, daughter of Lieutenant John Sackett and Mary Woodin, was born in New Haven, ConnecticutG, on 1 March 1690/91.1,2,3,4 She died unmarried aged about 26 in 1717.4,5 Administration of Mary's estate, and of those of her parents John and Mary, was granted by the New Haven Court of Probates on 26 December 1717 to her brother-in-law Jonathan Alling.5

John Sackett, son of Lieutenant John Sackett and Mary Woodin, was born in New Haven, ConnecticutG, on 1 May 16991,2,3,4,5 and baptized at the First Congregational Society, New HavenG, in May 1699.6,7 He died aged 81 in New HavenG on 21 November 1780.6,8 He married there on 29 November 1721, Hannah Smith, daughter of Sergt Joseph Smith and Hannah Morris, and daughter of his uncle Joseph Sackett's third wife.9,5,10,11 Hannah Smith was born about 17019 and died aged 75 in New HavenG on 7 June 1776.9,12
     On 1 January 1717/18 John chose his uncle, Lieutenant Joseph Sackett, to be his guardian, his own father having died in 1703 and his mother in November 1717.13,14

Captain & Deacon Samuel Sackett, soldier and Justice of the Peace, of New Haven, Connecticut, son of Lieutenant John Sackett and Mary Woodin, was born in New HavenG on 7 March 1702/3.1,2,3,4,5 He died aged 77 in North Haven, New Haven CountyG, on 17 February 17813,6,7 and was buried at the Old Center Cemetery, North HavenG.13 He married first in New HavenG on 11 December 1728, Elisabeth Todd, daughter of Samuel Todd and Susanna Tuttle.3,5,8,9 Elisabeth was born about 1709.5 She died aged 28 in New HavenG on 3 September 17375,14,15 and was buried at the Old Center Cemetery, North HavenG.16 He married second in New HavenG about 1740, Lydia Heaton, daughter of Seth Heaton and Hannah Todd.5,10 Lydia was born in New HavenG on 16 February 1717.5 She died there aged 32 on 4 December 17495 and was buried at the Old Center Cemetery, North HavenG.17 He married third in New HavenG on 5 August 1752, Hannah (Russell) Pierpont, daughter of Rev. Noadiah Russell, and widow of Lieut Joseph Pierpont.5,11,12 Hannah was born on 23 February 1707.5 She died aged 84 in North HavenG on 5 June 17915,18 and was buried at Old Center Cemetery, North HavenG.19
     Samuel and Hannah were listed as members of the First Congregational Church, North HavenG, on 24 December 1760.20,21

73. Capt. Samuel Sackett, of New Haven, Conn., son of (17) Lieut. John and Mary Woodin Sackett, was married, Dec. 11, 1728, to Elizabeth Todd, 17_?–1737, daughter of Samuel Todd and his wife Susana Tuthill. Prior to 1741 Capt. Sackett was married to his second wife, ___ ___, who died prior to 1751. On Aug. 6, 1752 he was married to his third wife, Mrs. Hannah Russell Pierpont, daughter of Rev. Noadiah Russell, and widow of Lieut. Joseph Pierpont. Capt. Sackett is frequently referred to in colonial records of New Haven as "Deacon Samuel Sackett." These early records show also that he was prominent in business and and social circles as well as in military and religious affairs. In 1736 he was appointed a Lieutenant and in 1754 commissioned Captain of the "5th Company or Train Band" in the town of New Haven. He was a Justice of the Peace in 1748 and 1749, and again from 1758 to 1776. In 1759 the Governor and General Council of Connecticut authorized Samuel Sackett and several other prominent citizens to organize a company and build and maintain a bridge across the "New Haven East River."
