Charles William Sackett, farmer of Walworth County, Wisconsin, son of Elisha Shepard Sackett and Maranda Hall, was born in Ashtabula County, Ohio^G, on 11 December 1843.¹ He died in Beloit, Rock County, Wisconsin^G, on 24 September 1926.¹ He was buried at the Mt Philip Cemetery, Allen's Grove, Walworth County, Wisconsin^G, on 26 September 1926.¹ He married at Allen's Grove^G on 3 January 1864, Katherine Elizabeth Van Buren, (1846-1920.)¹
     In 1850 Charles was living in Rockton, Winnebago County, Illinois^G, in the household of his parents Elisha and Miranda, and was recorded in the census as Charles W Sackett, aged eight and born in Ohio.²
     In 1860 he was living in Monroe, Green County, Wisconsin^G, in the household of his father Elisha and stepmother Clorinda, and was recorded as Chs W Sackett, aged 18.³
     In 1880 he was living in Darien, Walworth County, Wisconsin^G, and was recorded as Charles Sackett, head of household, a farmer, aged 36. Living with him were his wife Kate, 34 and their son Sherman, aged 16.⁴

Sherman Marcellas Sackett, a carpenter of Walworth County, Wisconsin, son of Charles William Sackett and Katherine Elizabeth Van Buren, was born in Allen's Grove, Walworth County^G, on 19 November 1864.² He died in Geneva, Walworth County^G, on 11 September 1942.² He was buried at the Mt Philip Cemetery, Allen's Grove^G, in September 1942.² He married at Turtle Township, Rock County, Wisconsin^G, on 11 December 1895, Teresa Russell, daughter of George Wayne Russell and Margaret Gourlay.² She was born in November 1872. They were divorced in 1902.²
     In 1880 Sherman was living at Darien, Walworth County, Wisconsin^G, and was recorded in the census as Sherman Sackett, aged 16 and born in Wisconsin, son of Charles Sackett.³

Russell William Sackett, son of Sherman Marcellas Sackett and Teresa Russell, was born in Beloit, Rock County, Wisconsin^G, on 3 September 1898.¹ He died aged 101 years 3 months 28 days in Madison, Wisconsin^G, on 31 December 1999.¹ He married in Wisconsin^G in 1929, Helen Sippy.¹ She died in January 1998.¹
     Russell completed a World War I draft registration card on 12 September 1918. He was then aged 20 and was a student at Beloit High School. He was living at 800 Bushnell Avenue, South Beloit, Rock County^G.²

James Washington Pogue, son of Preston Patrick Pogue and Aner Sackett, was born in Ohio^G on 3 July 1845.^2,3 He died aged 74 on 24 October 1919 and was buried at Blue Ridge Cemetery, Polk County, Nebraska^G.⁵ He married about 1868, Matilda Jane Berryhill.⁴ She was born in Ohio^G on 13 April 1851.^2,6 She died aged 58 in Nebraska^G on 21 March 1910.⁶

     In 1860 he was living in Brown, Miami County^G, in the household of his parents Preston and Aner, and was recorded as James W Pogue, aged 13.⁸
     In 1880 James was living in Precinct D, Seward County, Nebraska^G, and was recorded in the census as James Pogue, a farmer, head of household, married, aged 34 and born in Ohio. Living with him were his wife Matilda, 29, and their children, Lily, 11, Perry, 8, Alice, 7, and Ruth, aged ten months.⁹
