A William Sacket, of Westfield, recorded in 1755 as the owner of slaves named Occara and Present and of slave children Agnis and Thomar, was probably this William Sacket, or possibly his son William.10
William was named as a beneficiary in his grandfather John Sackett's will made in Westfield, Hampden County, MassachusettsG, on 10 May 1718. He was to inherit, after his grandmother's death, his grandfather's team and tackling, plows and harrow. He was aged 17 at the date of his grandfather's will but, unusually, was appointed executor. Following his grandfather's death, by which date William was 19, the Probate Court appointed William's uncle, John Sacket, as administrator until William reached 21.
William made his will at WestfieldG on 9 November 1752, naming as beneficiaries his wife Hannah, his son William and his daughter Hannah Noble. He left his wife one-third of his real estate during her widowhood, one-third of his personal estate outright, and his riding horse and mare. He left his daughter Hannah a farm of about 50 or 60 acres at Munhard River and £15. His son William, who was also appointed executor, was to inherit the rest of the estate, real and personal.
