Justus Sackett, carpenter of Northampton, Hampshire County, Massachusetts, son of Eliakim Sacket and Anna Edwards, was born in Massachusetts^G on 13 July 1804.¹ He died aged 89 in Massachusetts^G on 8 November 1893.¹ He married in Northampton^G on 30 September 1828, Electa Clark.^1,2

Rufus Sackett, shoemaker of Northampton, Hampshire County, Massachusetts, son of Eliakim Sacket and Anna Edwards, was born on 3 January 1808.^1,2 He died aged 66 in Northampton^G on 14 August 1875^1,2,3 and was buried in the Bridge Street Cemetery, Northampton^G.² He married about 1827, Frances Parsons, daughter of Seth Parsons and Rachel Wales.^1,2 Frances was born in Northampton^G on 17 August 1809.^2,4 She died aged 69 in Northampton^G on 17 February 1879.^2,5,6

     In 1850 Rufus was living in Northampton^G and was recorded in the census as Rufus Sackett, a shoemaker, aged 41 and born in Massachusetts. Living with him were his wife Frances, 40, and their children, Rufus, 19, Jerusha, 15, Louisa, 13, George, 10, Sarah, 8, Josephine, 6, Frederic, 4, and Ella, aged one month.⁹
