Huldah Sackett, daughter of Aaron Sacket and Phebe Hart, was born in Litchfield, Litchfield County, ConnecticutG, on 25 June 1787.1,2 She died aged 72 in Wallingford, Rutland County, VermontG, on 27 September 1859 and was buried at Green Hill Cemetery, WallingfordG.4 She married in Wallingford, Rutland CountyG, on 8 June 1806, Stephen Hyde, son of Captain Stephen Hyde and Lois White.3,2 Stephen was born in Tinmouth, Rutland CountyG, on 8 June 1784.4 He died aged 79 in WallingfordG on 22 July 1863 and was buried at Green Hill Cemetery, WallingfordG.4

Charles Sackett, farmer of Attica, Wyoming County, and Bergen, Genesee County, New York, son of Aaron Sacket and Phebe Hart, was born in Litchfield, ConnecticutG, on 23 May 1793.1,2 He died aged 86 in Bergen, Genesee County, New York StateG, on 7 August 1879 and was buried at East Bergen CemeteryG.4 He married on 3 July 1814, Saloma "Sally" Bascom, daughter of Joel Bascom and Rebecca Westcott.3 Saloma was born in Cambridge, VermontG, on 3 May 1795.3 She died aged 74 in BergenG on 6 September 1869 and was buried at East Bergen CemeteryG.4
Charles was listed in the 1840 census as a householder in BergenG.5
In 1860 Charles was living in BergenG and was recorded in the census as Charles Sackett, a farmer, aged 66. His wife Sally, 65, was living with him. Also in the household were their son Edmund, 29, with his wife Percilla, 30, and their son George, aged four; Charles and Sally's son Gilbert, 34, with his wife Sabra, 28, and their children, Charles, 8, Ada, 4, and E ?, aged two; and Charles and Sally's son Stephen, aged 25.6
Charles was listed in the 1840 census as a householder in BergenG.5
In 1860 Charles was living in BergenG and was recorded in the census as Charles Sackett, a farmer, aged 66. His wife Sally, 65, was living with him. Charles Sackett
He was the fourth child of Aaron Sackett and his wife, Phebe Hart Sackett. He was born May 23, 1793, at Litchfield, Connecticut. In 1803 he moved to Vermont. He married Saloma Bascom July 3, 1814, who was born at Cambridge, Vermont, on May 3, 1795. She was the daughter of Joel Bascom and his wife, Rebecca Westcott. Joel made the trip to Attica, N.Y. from Rutland, Vermont in 1818, and at the last minute his son-in-law, Charles and his daughter, Saloma Bascom Sackett, decided to go with him, and with them went their infant son, Joel Bascom Sackett. An anecdotal account of this midwinter trip was provided by Asher Sackett in a letter to me dated March 13, 1952, which is reproduced herein. The same year (1818) Charles moved to Byron, N.Y. In 1834, he moved to Bergen, N.Y. He died August 7, 1879. His wife had died September 6, 1869. "He was a man of sterling Christian integrity, expanded views, and large experience, temperate in all things and exemplary in his social relationships". His occupation was that of a farmer.

In 1850 Amanda was living in Ashford, Cattaraugus CountyG, in the household of her husband Joseph Remington, 58, a farmer, and was recorded in the census as Amanda Remington, aged 55 and born in Connecticut. Living with them were their children, Aurora, 28, Bela, 22, Melinda, 21, Joseph, 17, and Persis, aged 15.4
