Grove Sackett, son of Solomon Sackett and Melissa Fargo, was born in Colebrook, Litchfield County, ConnecticutG, on 18 March 1851.1 He died aged about 74 in ColebrookG in 1925 and was buried at the Center Cemetery, ColebrookG.2 He married first on 25 December 1879, Kate Louise Rockwell, daughter of P B Rockwell.1 Kate was born on 29 June 1850.3,4 Kate died aged 34 in West Winsted, Litchfield CountyG, on 21 October 18845 and was buried at the Center Cemetery, Colebrook, Litchfield CountyG, (or at Forest View Cemetery, Winchester, Litchfield, where there is also a memorial inscription.)3,4 He married second on 7 July 1888, Anna Edith Ray.1 Anna died in Crawford, Monmouth County, New JerseyG, in January 1924.6

Frank Sackett, son of Solomon Sackett and Melissa Fargo, was born in Sandisfield, Berkshire County, MassachusettsG, on 2 May 1861.1,2 He died aged 72 in Litchfield County Hospital, ConnecticutG, on 23 October 19333 and was buried at the Center Cemetery, Colebrook, Litchfield County, ConnecticutG.6 He married first in ColebrookG on 4 October 1883, Alice C Greene.2 Alice was born on 12 February 1865.7 She died aged 19 in ColebrookG on 13 May 18842 and was buried at the Center Cemetery, ColebrookG.7 He married second on 4 July 1887, Nettie J Dean, daughter of James E Dean and Sarah M White.2 Nettie was born about 1865.8 She died aged 33 on 6 September 1898 and was buried at Forest View Cemetery, Winchester, Litchfield CountyG, with her twin sister Nellie.9 He married third on 14 March 1900, Sarah C Chase.4 Sarah was born about 1871.8 She died aged 38 in ColebrookG on 3 June 1909 and was buried at the Center Cemetery, ColebrookG.10 He married fourth Belle Hart.5

Frank, son of Solomon Sackett was born in Sandsfield, Massachusetts May 2 1861. He attended the public schools of Colebrook and Winsted, Connecticut. He began his business career in the employ of the William L. Gilbert Clock Company in 1879 and continued with this concern until 1905. For twenty years he was foreman of the lever and movement department. Since 1905 he has been retired, living at Winsted. He is a member of Clifton Lodge of Odd Fellows. In religion he is a Methodist and he is trustee and collector of the Winsted Methodist Church. In politics he is a Republican.

Died: — at 6:30 p.m, Tuesday evening April 7, 1891 after a short illness, Mrs. Martha Witter, wife of M.B. Witter Esq. of this city, aged 82 years 9 months and 8 days. The immediate cause of death being Phlegmonous Erysipelas. Impressive funeral services, under the direction of the Rev. D.S. Wilson, were had at the Methodist church, and she was buried at Oakwood cemetery at 2 p.m. April 8, 1891.
At an early age she became a firm believer in the teachings of Jesus and a devoted Christian; full of Faith and Hope, in the world beyond, and thus at a ripe old age she died.
Mrs. Witter whose maiden name was Martha Sackett, was born at St. Albans, Franklin County, Vermont, June 29, 1808, where on the 28 day of December 1828, she was united in marriage to her husband who survives her at the age of 89. In 1834 her husband and family removed to Ohio, and from thence in 1839 to Missouri landing at Brunswick Chariton county July 4, of that year, where they resided until Sept. 1844, when they removed to Sullivan County, and in 1854, to Milan where they have ever since resided. The subject of this memorial was the mother of eight children, seven of whom survive her. The eldest of whom Mary E., wife of Ambrose Wages, died a number of years ago; Maria C. wife of Col. O.P. Phillips, Greencastle; Mrs. Martha C. Doran; and Melissa, wife of C.C. Ash of this city, Jno. Marshall Witter of Fair Haven, Whatcomb county, state of Washington, Dr. Merritt G. Witter of Sprague, Bates county, Mo. Martin R.H. Witter of St. Louis and Dr. W. L. M. Witter of this city.
