Amos Sackett, son of Joseph Sackett and ___ ___, was born in Vermont^G about 1800.¹ He died, presumably in Michigan^G, after 1880.¹ He married first say 1820, Lucinda Knickerbocker, daughter of Darius Knickerbocker and Prudence Ellsworth.² Lucinda was born in Vermont^G in 1800.² She died in Pulaski, Sandstone Township, Jackson County, Michigan^G, on 19 October 1848⁴ and was buried at Upton Cemetery, Sandstone^G.² He married second in Pulaski^G on 27 June 1849, Sally Burroughs.³ Sally was born in New York State^G about 1798.^1,5 She died probably before 1880.¹
     Amos was listed in the 1830 census as a householder in Carlton, Orleans County, New York State^G.⁶ In 1840 he was a householder in York, Washtenaw County, Michigan^G.⁷
     In 1850 Amos was living in Sandstone, Jackson County, Michigan^G, and was recorded in the census as Amos Sackett, a farmer, aged 50 and born in Vermont. Living with him were his wife Sally, 50, and his children, Prudence, 20, Susan, 16, Sarah, 14, and William, aged nine, by his first marriage. His son Darius was iving next door with his family.⁸
     In 1860 he was living in Henrietta, Jackson County^G, and was recorded as Amos Sackett, a farmer, aged 60. Living with him were his wife Sally, 62, and his sons, Mathew, 28, and Wallace, 18.⁹
     In 1870 he was living in Henrietta^G and was recorded as Amos Sackett, a farmer, aged 70. His wife Sally, 72, was living with him.¹⁰
     In 1880 he was living in New Boston, Wayne County, Michigan^G, and was recorded as Amos Sacket, a farmer, head of household, aged 80 and born in New York. He was recorded as single although he was by then twice widowed. Living with him was his daughter Prudence, aged 49.¹¹

Clark Sackett, son of Joseph Sackett and ___ ___, was born in Washington County, New York State^G, in 1809.¹ He married in Monroe County, Michigan^G, about 1836, Fannie Firster.² Clark died, presumably in Monroe County, Michigan^G, before 26 April 1839, when Fannie married second John Bunce. Fannie was born in London, Monroe County^G, about 1818.^3,4 She died aged 26 in childbirth in Monroe County^G on 12 December 1844⁴ and was buried at Spaulding Cemetery, Milan, Monroe County, Michigan^G.⁴
     On 11 August 1825 Clark was the subject of a newspaper notice placed by his father.⁵
     A further newspaper notice was placed by Joseph concerning runaway Clark Sackett aged 17 on 23 June 1826.⁶

     A newspaper notice was placed in the Republican Advocate, Genesee County, New York State^G, on 30 March 1827 by his father concerning his runaway son Joseph Sackett Jr aged 14.¹

Ira H Sackett was born about 1815.² He was probably the son of Hiram Sackett and Anna Jones. He married Lucy Gilbert. Lucy was born in England^G about 1819.²
     In 1850 Ira was living in Sturgis, St Joseph County, Michigan^G, and was recorded in the census as Ira H Sackett, a laborer, aged 35. Living with him were his wife Lucy, 31, and their children, Miles, 11, Luther, 6, and Hannah, aged two.³
     In 1870 he was living in The Disputed Islands (PO San Juan Island), Whatcom County, Washington Territory^G, and was recorded as Ira H Sackett, a cooper, aged 55. He was living in an all-male household comprising five coopers and a cook. Next door were two other all-male households, including choppers and laborers, the whole suggesting that this may have been an encampment.⁴
     Records of Ira are few and inconsistent. His birthpace is given in the 1850 census as Virginia, in 1870 as Pennsylvania, in his son Miles's 1880 census record as England, and in his daughter Hannah's death record (1918) as New York. Ira's identification as a son of Hiram is unproved.

Luther Sackett, son of Hiram Sackett and Anna Jones, was born in Pennsylvania^G on 6 November 1816.¹ He died in Michigan^G in 1882.¹ He married about 1838, Sarah "Sally" Strickland.²
     Luther was listed in the 1840 census as a householder in Carlton, Orleans County, New York State^G.³
     In 1850 Luther was living in Carlton, Orleans County, New York State^G, and was recorded in the census as Luther Sacket, a farmer, aged 35 and born in New York. Living with him were his wife Sally, 30, and their children, Clarisa, 11, Hiram, 10, Mahala, 7, Amanda, 6, and Moses, aged one.⁴

Jason Sackett, son of Hiram Sackett and Anna Jones, was born in New York State^G in 1829.² He died aged about 69 in Hillsdale County, Michigan^G, in February 1899.² He married first in Jackson County, Michigan^G, on 11 July 1849, Mary Adeline Fleetwood.² Mary was born in New York State^G in 1829² and died aged about 66 in Hillsdale County, Michigan^G, in 1895.² He married second in Woodbridge, Hillsdale County, Michigan^G, on 21 January 1897, Alzina Taylor.³ Alzina was born about 1838.⁴
     In 1850 Jason was living in Moscow, Hillsdale County, Michigan^G, in the household of his parents Hiram and Anna, and was recorded in the census as Jason Sackett, a farmer, aged 20 and born in New York. His wife Adeline, 20, was living with him.⁵
     In 1860 he was living in Liberty Township, Jackson County, Michigan^G, and was recorded as Jason Sackett, a carpenter, aged 30. Living with him were his wife Adeline, 30, and their children, Annette, 7, James, 4, and Frank, aged two.⁶

Lois Louise Sackett, daughter of Hiram Sackett and Anna Jones, was born in New York State^G in 1832.¹ She died after 1870.¹ She married at Sandstone, Jackson County, Michigan^G, on 8 April 1850, Mathew Dunham Sackett, son of Amos Sackett and Lucinda Knickerbocker.² Lois and Mathew were first cousins.
     In 1850 Lois was living in Moscow, Hillsdale County, Michigan^G, in the household of her parents Hiram and Anna, and was recorded in the census as Lois L Sackett, aged 20 and born in New York. Her husband Matthew, 22, was living with her.³

Philetus Sackett, son of Hiram Sackett and Anna Jones, was born in New York State^G on 6 December 1833.^1,2 He died aged 67 in Wheatland, Hillsdale County, Michigan^G, on 7 November 1901³ and was buried at Dibble Cemetery, Wheatland, Hillsdale County, Michigan^G.⁴ He married in Liberty Township, Jackson County, Michigan^G, on 7 February 1860, Susan Anna Owens.
     In 1850 Philetus was living in Moscow, Hillsdale County, Michigan^G, in the household of his parents Hiram and Anna, and was recorded in the census as Philetus Sackett, a farmer, aged 17 and born in New York.⁵

Joseph Sackett, son of Amos Sackett and Lucinda Knickerbocker, was born after 1820.¹

Ambrose S Sackett, a collier, son of Amos Sackett and Lucinda Knickerbocker, was born in Connecticut^G about 1824.¹ He died in service aged about 38 in the Regimental Hospital on 20 June 1862 during the American Civil War.² He married in Sharon, Litchfield County, Connecticut^G, on 3 September 1843, Lydia A Ball.³
     In 1850 Ambrose was living in Salisbury, Litchfield County, Connecticut^G, and was recorded in the census as Ambrose Sacket, a collier, aged 26 and born in Connecticut. Living with him were his wife Lydia, 25, and their children, Marvin, 6, and Norman, aged one month. There was also a male laborer in the household.⁴
     Ambrose, then of Trumbull, Fairfield County^G, served the Union during the American Civil War, enlisting in the 12th Connecticut Volunteer Regiment on 20 June 1862.^2,5,6

Amos Darius Sackett, son of Amos Sackett and Lucinda Knickerbocker, was born in New York State^G about 1824.¹ He married Delilah ___.¹ Delilah was born in New York State^G about 1832.¹
     In 1850 Amos was living in Sandstone, Jackson County, Michigan^G, and was recorded in the census as Darius Sackett, a farmer, aged 26 and born in New York. Living with him were his wife Delilah, 18, and their son Amos, aged one month. Darius's father Amos was living next door.²
     In 1860 he was living in Henrietta, Jackson County^G, and was recorded as Amos D Sackett, a farmer, aged 38. Living with him were his wife Delilah, 28, and their children, Amos, 9, and Susan, aged five.³

Mathew Dunham Sackett, son of Amos Sackett and Lucinda Knickerbocker, was born in New York State^G on 30 March 1829.¹ He died in Scotch Grove, Jones County, Iowa^G, on 18 August 1896.¹ He married first at Sandstone, Jackson County, Michigan^G, on 8 April 1850, Lois Louise Sackett, daughter of Hiram Sackett and Anna Jones.² Mathew and Lois were first cousins. He married second in Jones County, Iowa^G, on 4 February 1863, Nancy Ann Ennis, daughter of John Ennis and Winifred G "Winnie" ___.² Nancy was born in Marion County, Indiana^G, on 16 April 1845³ and died aged 81 in Monticello, Jones County, Iowa^G, on 20 September 1926.³
     In 1850 Mathew was living in Moscow, Hillsdale County, Michigan^G, and was recorded in the census as Matthew Sackett, aged 22 and born in New York. He was living with his wife Lois in the household of Lois's parents Hiram and Anna.⁴
     In 1860 he was living in Henrietta, Jackson County, Michigan^G, in the household of his father Amos and stepmother Sally, and was recorded as Mathew Sackett, a farmer, aged 28.⁵
     In 1880 he was living in Scotch Grove, Iowa^G, and was recorded as Mathew Sackett, a farmer, head of household, married, aged 50 and born in New York. Living with him were his wife Nancy, 36, and their children, Amos, 14, Martha, 10, Hattie, 8, Mathew, 5, and Clarance, aged two.⁶

Prudence M Sackett, daughter of Amos Sackett and Lucinda Knickerbocker, was born in Lockport, Niagara County, New York State^G, in 1830.¹ She married first in Jackson County, Michigan^G, on 17 March 1851, Isaac Ashley, son of George W Ashley and Charlotte Gavett.² She married second in Martinsville, Wayne County, Michigan^G, on 7 August 1887, William R Wheeler, a farmer.³
     In 1850 Prudence was living in Sandstone, Jackson County, Michigan^G, in the household of her father Amos and stepmother Sally, and was recorded in the census as Pruda Sackett, aged 20 and born in Ohio.⁴
     In 1880 she was living in New Boston, Wayne County, Michigan^G, in the household of her 80-year-old father Amos, and was recorded as Prudence Sacket, divorced, aged 49 and born in New York.⁵

Susan Sackett, daughter of Amos Sackett and Lucinda Knickerbocker, was born in Michigan^G on 29 March 1834.¹ She died aged 79 in Jefferson, Hillsdale County, Michigan^G, on 15 January 1914 and was buried at Johnson Cemetery, Scipio, Hillsdale County^G.^3,2 She married Romeo Edwin Day.²
     In 1850 Susan was living in Sandstone, Jackson County, Michigan^G, in the household of her father Amos and stepmother Sally, and was recorded in the census as Susan Sackett, aged 16 and born in Michigan.⁴

Sarah Sackett, daughter of Amos Sackett and Lucinda Knickerbocker, was born in Michigan^G about 1836.¹
     In 1850 Sarah was living in Sandstone, Jackson County, Michigan^G, in the household of her father Amos and stepmother Sally, and was recorded in the census as Sarah Sackett, aged 14 and born in Michigan.²

William Wallace Sackett, son of Amos Sackett and Lucinda Knickerbocker, was born in Washtenaw County, Michigan^G, about 1842.¹
     In 1850 William was living in Sandstone, Jackson County, Michigan^G, in the household of his father Amos and stepmother Sally, and was recorded in the census as Wm Sackett, aged nine and born in Michigan.²
     In 1860 he was living in Henrietta, Jackson County^G, in the household of his father Amos and stepmother Sally, and was recorded as Walace Sackett, a farm laborer, aged 18.³

Charles L Sackett, son of Mathew Dunham Sackett and Lois Louise Sackett, was born in Henrietta, Jackson County, Michigan^G, on 17 March 1856.² He died in Jackson County^G on 28 May 1939.² He married first at Rives Township, Jackson County^G, on 14 February 1880, Alice E Kilpatrick, daughter of Joseph Kilpatrick and Maria (?).² Alice was born in Illinois^G about 1861.² He married second at Rives Township, Jackson County^G, on 10 February 1889, Sarah Lurana Striker, daughter of Hugh Striker and Rebecca Chase.² Sarah was born in Henrietta Township, Jackson County^G, on 7 July 1872.² He died in Jackson County^G.²
     In 1880 Charles was living at Rives, Jackson County, Michigan^G, in the household of farmer George and Angela Lee, and was recorded in the census as Charles Sackett, a farm laborer, aged 24 and born in Michigan. He was living with his wife Alice, described as a house servant.³
