Joseph Sackett

FatherEli Sackett (1743-1826)
MotherSarah ___ (c 1746-1830)
Birthabout 17901
Death9 April 1834, North Haven, New Haven County, ConnecticutG,1,2
Joseph Sackett, son of Eli Sackett and Sarah ___, was born about 1790.1 He died aged 44 in North Haven, New Haven County, ConnecticutG, on 9 April 18341,2 and was buried at the Old Center Cemetery, North HavenG.3,4
Joseph was listed in the 1830 census as a householder in North HavenG.5
Joseph died intestate. His brother Daniel Sackett and brother-in-law Philemon Pierpont were appointed by the New Haven Court of Probate on 14 April 1834 as administrators of his estate. An inventory valued his real estate at $1,413 and his personal estate at $116. After claims against the estate, the net value was $1,267. Equal beneficiaries were Joseph's brothers, John, Eli, and Daniel Sackett, his sisters, Sarah Ives, Lydia Todd, and Betsey Clark, and the heirs of his late sisters Mehitabel Pierpont and Bede Barns. (The entry in the Distribution of the Real Estate of Joseph Sackett dated 22 January 1835 referring to "the heirs of Bede Barns dec'd" would appear to have been in error as Bede's death on 18 September 1867 is well documented.)
