George Sackett, of St Peter in Thanet, Kent, son of Thomas Sackett the elder of St Peter in Thanet and Joane ___, was born in about 1565. He died in St Peter in ThanetG on 26 March 1612 and was buried there on 29 March 1612.1 He was described in the burials register as a 'poor man', presumably indicating that he had been maintained by the parish. He married at St Peter in ThanetG on 15 January 1589/90, Katherine Tompson.2 She was buried there on 8 December 1624.3
     George was named as a beneficiary in his father's will made in St Peter in ThanetG on 30 March 1594.4 He was left £12 in money and various chattels, his brother Thomas as the elder son inheriting his father's tenement and lands.
     George was listed as a member of St Peter's Muskets on the militia muster roll of 11 August 1599, and as a member of St Peter's Pioneers on 16 August 1599.5
