In 1850 Tryphena was living in WestfieldG in the household of her husband Joshua A Loomis, 39, a peddler, and was recorded in the census as Tryphena S Loomis, aged 36 and born in Massachusetts. Living with them were their children, Juliet, 12, Melissa, 11, Adelade, 8, and Esther, aged five. Tryphena's sister Electa, 31, was also in the household.10

Daniel was named as a beneficiary in his grandfather Stephen Sacket's will, made at WestfieldG on 5 October 1829 and proved on 2 March 1830. He was to have his grandfather's brass eight-day clock.

Loomis was admitted to membership of the Southwick Congregational ChurchG on 6 May 1866. His wife Cordelia had been a member when young, had been dismissed to the Westfield church in 1851, and had rejoined the Southwick church in 1857.11,17
In 1880 he was living in SouthwickG and was recorded as Loomis J Sackett, a farmer, head of household, married, aged 57 and born in Massachusetts. Living with him were his second wife Martha, aged 43 and born in Vermont, and her daughter Nellie M Tupper, aged 14. Loomis's farm comprised 13 acres of improved land, valued at $2,000.18,19
Loomis made his will in SouthwickG on 5 December 1896, adding a codicil on 16 November 1898. Main beneficiaries were his wife Martha to whom he left $2,000, including a sum of $1,000 previously agreed under a prenuptial agreement, and a one-third share of his estate income during her widowhood, and his daughter Emma by his first marriage to whom he left $3,000 and the residue of his estate. He left smaller but significant sums for his grandchildren and step-grandchildren to be received at age 21.

Loomis J. Sackett, 75, one of the wealthiest men of Southwick, died last night. He was born in Westfield, but had lived in Southwick for about fifty years. He was a successful farmer and retired twenty-five years ago. He was town treasurer at one time, but had held no other public office. He was a member of the Congregational church. He leaves a widow and one daughter, Mrs. Arthur Eddy of St. Louis, Mo.

Resident of Southwick for Many Years Dies at Home of Daughter
Southwick, Aug. 7—Mrs. Martha Sackett, 85, died last night at the home of her daughter, Mrs. H. J. Hudson. She was born at East Barnard, Vt., in 1837 and was married to Frank Tupper in 1857. She lived for many years at Kossuth, Ia. After the death of her husband she came back East and later married Loomis J. Sackett, a prominent Southwick citizen, who died in 1899. Mrs. Sackett was an active member of the Congregational church of Southwick and was widely known in this vicinity. She had lived with her daughter, Mrs. Hudson, since the death of her second husband.
Besides her daughter, she leaves two grandchildren, Clarence A. Hudson of Southwick and Harold L. Hudson of West Springfield. The funeral will be held at the home at 2 Thursday afternoon. Burial will be in Fine Hill cemetery, Westfield.

She lived for many years at Kossuth, Ia. After the death of her husband she came back East and later married Loomis J. Sackett, a prominent Southwick citizen, who died in 1899. Mrs. Sackett was an active member of the Congregational church of Southwick and was widely known in this vicinity. She had lived with her daughter, Mrs. Hudson, since the death of her second husband.
Besides her daughter, she leaves two grandchildren, Clarence A. Hudson of Southwick and Harold L. Hudson of West Springfield. The funeral will be held at the home at 2 Thursday afternoon. Burial will be in Fine Hill cemetery, Westfield.
