Moses Sacket Jr, son of Moses Sacket and Tryphena Hiscock, was born in Westfield, Hampden County, MassachusettsG, on 11 August 1798.1,2,3 He died there aged 66 on 10 June 18654,5 and was buried at Pine Hill Cemetery, WestfieldG.5 He married at the First Church, WestfieldG, on 21 April 1825, Maria Doane, daughter of Enoch Doane and Mabel Cooper.6,7,8 Maria was born in MassachusettsG on 4 January 1808.9,10 She died aged 88 on 31 March 18965 and was buried at Pine Hill CemeteryG.5

Nancy Sacket, daughter of Moses Sacket and Tryphena Hiscock, was born in Westfield, Hampden County, MassachusettsG, on 4 May 1813.1,2 She died aged 91 on 25 January 1905 and was buried at Pine Hill Cemetery, WestfieldG.5 She married first in WestfieldG on 25 May 1836, Jeremiah "Jerry" Atwater, her 4th cousin, son of Joel Atwater and Lydia Sacket.3 Jeremiah was born in Russell, Hampden CountyG, on 25 August 1805.6,5 He died aged 37 in WestfieldG on 19 March 1843 and was buried at the Old Burying Ground, WestfieldG.5 She married second in WestfieldG on 23 September 1857, Samuel W Cook, son of James Cook and Mahitable ___.4 Samuel was born in Montgomery, Hampden CountyG, about 1818.7 He died aged about 90 on 11 June 1908 and was buried at Pine Hill Cemetery, WestfieldG.5
Nancy's first husband Jeremiah died intestate. During administration of his estate it soon became apparent that it was insolvent and proceedings later became controversial.
At the Hampden County Probate Court on 8 April 1843 Nancy declined appointment as administrator. Lewis Fowler was appointed on 10 April. The estate had debts of some $2,400, owing to more than fifty claimants in amounts of a few dollars to more than $300. Claimants included Mariah Sacket $4.38, Moses Sacket Jr $29.20, Anna Sacket $6.87, Noah Sacket $253.98, and Laura Sacket $92.67. The estate, both real and personal, was ordered to be sold at auction and this realised some $700, after Nancy's selection of items to a value of $150 as permitted by the Court.
On 12 March 1844 Lewis Fowler reported to the Court that he "suspects Martin Sacket [one of Nancy's brothers] of said Westfield of having concealed embezzled or conveyed away the money goods or effects of said decd." Martin was subjected to detailed questioning by the Judge of Probate and denied any wrongdoing.8
In 1855 Nancy was living in WestfieldG and was recorded in the census as Nancy Atwater, aged 43 and born in Massachusetts. Living with her were her sons, Dwight, 16, and James, 14.9
In 1860 she was living in WestfieldG in the household of her husband Samuel, 41, a carpenter, and was recorded as Nancy Cook, aged 46. Her son Dwight Atwater, 21, by her first marriage, was living with them.10
