Sarah Ann Sackett, daughter of Charles Sackett and Esther Haradine, was born in Kennington, Lambeth, SurreyG, in 18671 and baptized at St Mary's Church, LambethG, on 9 February 1868.2 She died aged 77 in St Albans, HertfordshireG, on 3 September 1944.3,4 She married at St John's Church, Brixton, SurreyG, on 24 March 1886, Thomas Henry Wilkes, son of Thomas Peter Wilkes.5,6 Thomas was born in LambethG about 1862.7 He died before 1901.7
     In 1881 Sarah was living at 6 Pleasant Place, Lambeth, SurreyG, in the household of her father Charles, a general labourer, and was recorded in the census as Sarah Sackett, a scholar, aged 14, and born in Kennington, Surrey.8
     In 1891 she was living at 3 Rumsey Road, LambethG, in the household of her husband Thomas Wilkes, 28, a print compositor, and was recorded as Sarah A Wilkes, aged 23. Living with them were their children, Gwendolen, 3, Charles, 2, and Dorothy, aged one. Also in the household were a female servant and a male boarder.9
     In 1901 she was living at 151 Stockwell Park Road, LambethG, and was recorded as Sarah A Wilkes, a widow, head of household, aged 33. Living with her were her children, Gwendoline, 13, Charles, 12, Dorothy, 10, Ethel, 8, Reginald, 4, and Thomas, aged two. There was also a male boarder in the household.10
     In 1911 she was living at 6a Avenue Park Road, West Norwood, LondonG, and was recorded as Sarah Ann Wilkes, head of household, a widow, of private means. Living with her were her Wilkes children, Gwendoline, 23, Ethel, 19, Reginald, 14, and Thomas, aged 13, and her son Sylvester Quarde, aged six.11
     Sarah left a will which was proved on 27 November 1944 by her daughter Gwendolen. The value of Sarah's estate was £90.12

Frederick Sackett, son of Ann Sackett, was born in Margate, KentG, on 6 September 18121,2 and baptized at St John in Thanet, KentG, on 14 October 1812.2 He died aged 393 and was buried at Zion Chapel, Margate, KentG, on 27 July 1852.5 He married before 1840, Mary Culmer.4 After Frederick's death, Mary married second at St John in ThanetG on 28 January 1855, William Robins Goldsack, a brewer, son of Isaac Goldsack.6,7
     In 1841 Frederick was living at Roussell Street, Lambeth, SurreyG, and was recorded in the census as Frederick Sackett, a cornfactor, aged 25 [rounded down] and born not in Surrey. Living with him were his wife Mary, 25, and children, Mary Ann, 2, and Frederick, aged one.8
     In 1851 he was living at Barley Mow Brewery, Wyldes Rents, Bermondsey, SurreyG, and was recorded as Frederick Sackett, a retail brewer, head of household, married, aged 39 and born in Margate, Kent. Living with him were his wife Mary, 37, and children, Mary A, 12, Frederick, 11, and George, aged six. Also in the household was a female house servant.9
     Frederick died intestate. Letters of administration of his estate were granted at the Prerogative Court of CanterburyG on 15 March 1853 to his widow Mary.10
     In 1861 Frederick's widow Mary was living at Phoenix Brewery, Margate, KentG, in the household of her second husband William Goldsack, a brewer, and was recorded in the census as Mary Goldsack, wife of William Goldsack. Her age and birthplace were not given. Living with William and Mary were Mary's sons by her first marriage, Frederick Sackett (21), and George Sackett (16.)11
     In 1871 she was living at 67 King Street, Margate, KentG, in the household of her husband Wiiliam Goldsack, a carpenter, and was recorded as Mary Goldsack, aged 57, and born in Ash. Living with William and Mary were her daughter Mary A Still, a widow, aged 31, and grandchildren, Charles Still (11) and Mary A Still (10.)12

John Edward Sackett, son of Richard Thomas Sackett and Ann Elizabeth Reed, was born in Stratford, EssexG, on 16 November 1876.1,2,3 He died aged 73 in Hemel Hempstead, HertfordshireG, in 1950.4 He married in West HamG in 1914, Edith Elizabeth Whitworth, daughter of Robert Whitworth and ___ Grout.5,6 Edith was born in Milton, KentG, on 16 March 18947,3 and died aged 95 in Dacorum, HertfordshireG, in July 1989.8
     In 1881 John was living at 113 Livingstone Road, West Ham, EssexG, in the household of his parents Richard and Ann, and was recorded in the census as John E Sackett, aged five and born in Stratford.9
     In 1901 he was living at 26 Major Road, West Ham, EssexG, in the household of his parents Richard and Ann, and was recorded as John Sackett, a general labourer, single, aged 26 [actually 24] and born in Stratford.10
     In 1911 he was living at 36 Pond Road, West Ham, EssexG, in the household of his sister Matilda, and was recorded as John Sackett, a labourer, single, aged 36.11
     In 1921 he was living at 3 Pond Road, West HamG, and was recorded as John Sackett, an electrical fitter's labourer, head of household, aged 42. Living with him were his wife Elizabeth, 27, and their children, Ann, 6, Albert, 2, and Richard Sackett, aged ten months. Elizabeth's widowed father Robert Whitworth, 76, was also living with them.12
     At the outbreak of the Second World War in September 1939, John and Edith were living at 3 Pond Road, West Ham, EssexG. John was an electrical fitter's mate. Their son Richard was living with them.13

Robert Emmett Sackett, son of Carson Hobart Sackett and Anna Race, was born in ConnecticutG on 22 March 1897.2,3,4 He died aged 69 in Hudson, Columbia County, New York StateG, on 4 December 1966.2,5 He married about 1931, Henrietta Mary Sobocinski.2 Henrietta was born in PolandG on 19 January 1907.2
     Robert was just one day old when his father Carson died.
     In 1900 Robert was living at Mill Street, Hudson, Columbia County, New York StateG, in the household of his widowed mother Annie, and was recorded in the census as Robert Sackett, aged three and born in Connecticut.6
     In 1910 he was living at Ronnade Hill, HudsonG, in the household of his mother Anna and stepfather George Vedder, and was recorded as Robert E Sackett, aged 14.7
     Robert served as a private in the United States Army during the First World War. He enlisted in the National Guard in Hudson, New York, on 17 April 1915, and transferred to a machine-gun battalion in the 106th Infantry Regiment on 13 January 1917. He served overseas from 10 May 1918 to March 18, 1919 and was honorably discharged on 2 April 1919.8
     In 1920 he was living at Fulton Street, HudsonG, and was recorded as Robt Sackett, a spinner in a cotton mill, aged 23 and single. He was a boarder in the household of a Miller family.9
     In 1930 he was living at Warren Street, HudsonG, and was recorded as Robert E Sackett, unemployed, aged 31 and divorced. He was boarding in the Miller household.10
