Sarah Ann Sackett, daughter of Charles Sackett and Esther Haradine, was born in Kennington, Lambeth, Surrey^G, in 1867¹ and baptized at St Mary's Church, Lambeth^G, on 9 February 1868.² She died aged 77 in St Albans, Hertfordshire^G, on 3 September 1944.^3,4 She married at St John's Church, Brixton, Surrey^G, on 24 March 1886, Thomas Henry Wilkes, son of Thomas Peter Wilkes.^5,6 Thomas was born in Lambeth^G about 1862.⁷ He died before 1901.⁷
     In 1881 Sarah was living at 6 Pleasant Place, Lambeth, Surrey^G, in the household of her father Charles, a general labourer, and was recorded in the census as Sarah Sackett, a scholar, aged 14, and born in Kennington, Surrey.⁸

Anne Elizabeth "Annie" Sackett, daughter of Robert Sackett and Mary Ann Lazell, was born in Dagenham, Essex, England^G, on 17 March 1869.^1,2,3 She died aged 76 in Dryden, Kenora District, Ontario, Canada^G, on 20 March 1945⁴ and was buried in Dryden Cemetery^G on 22 March 1945.⁴ She married first at Wesleyan Chapel, Romford, Essex^G, on 28 March 1887, John Henry Thomas, son of Benjamin Thomas and Philadelphia ___.^5,6,7 He was born in Brede, Sussex, England^G, on 2 March 1857^2,9 and died aged 55 in Dryden, Ontario, Canada^G, on 28 September 1912.⁹ He died accidentally when he was hit by a train engine during a switching operation.³ She married second at St Paul's Church, Fort William, Thunder Bay District, Ontario, Canada^G, on 11 August 1913, Alfred Jeremiah "Dan" O'Leary, a stationary engineer, son of Patrick O'Leary and Ellen Hayes.^3,8

     Robert served in the 8th King's Royal Irish Hussars for seven years from 11 December 1891. He gave his age on enlistment as 18; he was actually 16. He transferred to the army reserves in 1898 and was discharged medically unfit on 2 January 1900.⁴

Frederick Sackett, son of Ann Sackett, was born in Margate, Kent^G, on 6 September 1812^1,2 and baptized at St John in Thanet, Kent^G, on 14 October 1812.² He died aged 39³ and was buried at Zion Chapel, Margate, Kent^G, on 27 July 1852.⁵ He married before 1840, Mary Culmer.⁴ After Frederick's death, Mary married second at St John in Thanet^G on 28 January 1855, William Robins Goldsack, a brewer, son of Isaac Goldsack.^6,7
     In 1841 Frederick was living at Roussell Street, Lambeth, Surrey^G, and was recorded in the census as Frederick Sackett, a cornfactor, aged 25 [rounded down] and born not in Surrey. Living with him were his wife Mary, 25, and children, Mary Ann, 2, and Frederick, aged one.⁸

     Robert served as a private in the United States Army during the First World War. He enlisted in the National Guard in Hudson, New York, on 17 April 1915, and transferred to a machine-gun battalion in the 106th Infantry Regiment on 13 January 1917. He served overseas from 10 May 1918 to March 18, 1919 and was honorably discharged on 2 April 1919.⁸
     In 1920 he was living at Fulton Street, Hudson^G, and was recorded as Robt Sackett, a spinner in a cotton mill, aged 23 and single. He was a boarder in the household of a Miller family.⁹
     In 1930 he was living at Warren Street, Hudson^G, and was recorded as Robert E Sackett, unemployed, aged 31 and divorced. He was boarding in the Miller household.¹⁰
