Carson Hobart Sackett, son of Hobart B Sackett and Harriet ___, was born in New Haven, ConnecticutG, in 1852.2 He died in New York CityG on 23 March 18982 and was buried at Evergreen Cemetery, New HavenG.3 He married Anna Race.2 Anna was born in New York StateG in September 1857.4 She died in Hudson, Columbia County, New York StateG, on 8 April 1917.2 After Carson's death, Anna married George Vedder about 1900.
In 1860 Carson was living in New HavenG in the household of his father Hobart, and was recorded in the census as Carson Sackett, aged eight and born in Connecticut.5
In 1870 he was living in New HavenG in the household of his father Hobart and stepmother Maggie, and was recorded as Carson Sackett, aged 19.6
Carson was listed in the New Haven City Directories of 1873/74 and 1874/75 as a basket maker, living at 54 Sylvan Avenuue, New HavenG; in 1875/76 he was a "lather" (presumably fitting wall and ceiling laths for plastering), with rooms at 91 Crown; in 1878 he was a painter, at 67 Kimberley Avenue.7
In 1880 he was living in Huntington, Fairfield County, ConnecticutG, and was recorded as Carson Sackett, a laborer, 28 and single. He was a boarder in the household of John and Lucy Harger.8 He was listed in 1891 living at 40 Cedar Hill Avenue, in 1892 at 312 Grand Avenue, and in 1893 and 1894 at 238 Blatchley Avenue. In 1897 he was again described as a lather, living at 26 Main Street.7
In 1900 Carson's widow Anna was living at Mill Street, Hudson, Columbia County, New York StateG, and was recorded in the census as Annie Sackett, a laundress, head of household, a widow. She had given birth to eight children of whom the only survivor was her son Robert, aged three, who was living with her.9
In 1910 she was living at Ronnade Hill, HudsonG, in the household of her thiird husband George Vedder, and was recorded as Anna Vedder, aged 53. Her son Robert Sackett, aged 14, was living with them.10

Hobart B Sackett, son of Butler Sackett and Lois Todd, was born in ConnecticutG in 1826.2,3 He died aged about 71 on 5 June 1897 and was buried at Evergreen Cemetery, New Haven, ConnecticutG.6 He married first say 1850, Harriet ___.4 He married second in Manhattan, New York CityG, on 29 October 1870, Margaret "Maggie" Bullis, daughter of Chester Bullis and Margaret ___.5 Margaret was born in New York StateG about 1848.3 She died aged about 61 in 1909 and was buried at Centerville Cemetery, Hamden, New Haven CountyG.7
In 1848 Hobert was a hackman living at 10 Pine, New Haven, ConnecticutG, in the household of his father Butler. By 1858 both had moved to 27 Wall where Hobart had a livery stable.8,9
In 1860 Hobart was living in New HavenG and was recorded in the census as Hobart Sackett, livery keeper, aged 34 and born in Connecticut. Living with him were his parents Butler, 66, and Lois, 60, his sister Ann Gorham, 40, and his son Carson, aged eight.10
In 1860 and 1861 Hobart was living at 85 Park, New HavenG. In 1862 he opened an eating saloon at 279 and 281 State. By 1869 he had relocated the saloon to 19 Gregson and he was living at Sylvan Avenue.11
Hobart registered for the Civil War draft in June 1863. He was a restaurant proprietor, aged 37, single, and was living at 273 State Street, New HavenG.12
In 1870 he was living at New HavenG and was recorded as Hobart B Sackett, retired livery keeper, aged 44 and born in Connecticut. Living with him were his second wife Maggie, 21, his son Carson, 19, and sister Ann Gorham, 50.13

Butler Sackett, farmer of New Haven and Hamden, Connecticut, son of Capt Joel Sackett and Lydia Todd, was born in ConnecticutG on 18 November 1794.1,2 He died aged 75 in ConnecticutG on 2 February 18703 and was buried at Evergreen Cemetery, New HavenG.5 He married about 1819, Lois Todd, daughter of Simeon Todd and Mehitabel Perkins.1,4 Lois was born on 15 March 18002 and baptized at Hamden, New Haven County, ConnecticutG, on 18 July 1802.6 She died aged 64 in New HavenG on 13 June 18647 and was buried at Evergreen Cemetery, New HavenG.8
Butler was recorded in the 1820 census as a householder in North Haven, New Haven County, ConnecticutG.9 In 1830 he was a householder in Hamden, New Haven CountyG. His father-in-law Simeon Todd was also a householder there.10 In 1840 Butler was a householder in New HavenG.11 He was listed regularly in New Haven city directories from 1840. In that year he was listed as a farmer, living at 42 Hancock Avenue, New HavenG. He subsequently moved several times: to 240 Chapel by 1845, 30 Wooster by 1847, and 10 Pine by 1848.12,13,14,15

Lucy L Sackett, daughter of Lieutenant Charles Duncan Sackett and Mary Ann Gordon, was born in McLean County, IllinoisG, on 24 May 1867.1,2,3,4 She died aged 71 in Greenfield, Adair CountyG, on 30 October 1938 and was buried at Greenfield CemeteryG on 2 November 1938.7 She married first in Greenfield, Adair County, IowaG, on 1 January 1889, William C McCrea, son of Porter McCrea and Matilda Bonnett.1,5 William was born in IowaG on 13 February 1859.2,8 He died aged 49 on 19 February 1908 and was buried at Greenfield CemeteryG.8 She married second in Osceola, Clarke County, IowaG, on 9 August 1916, Ernest Funke, son of Ernst Funke and Sophia Siepert.6 Ernest was born in Bodenburg, GermanyG, on 8 April 1847.2,3,9 He died aged 76 in Alhambra, Los Angeles County, CaliforniaG, on 25 December 1923 and was buried at Greenfield Cemetery, IowaG.9

Ernest Funke was born in Hanover, Germany, April 8, 1847 and died at his home in Alhambra Californian December 23, 1923 at the age of 77 years, 8 months and 17 days. At the age of seventeen years he came to America and secured employment in New York City, where he remained for two years. He moved to Mendota, Illinois in 1866 and resided for five years. He came to Iowa in 1871 and made his home on a farm west of Greenfield where he lived for twenty two years, moving to a farm adjoining Greenfield in 1893. In 1874 he was united in marriage to Miss Katherine Erbes. To this union were born seven sons and seven daughters all of whom survive him. Mr. Funke moved to Alhambra California in 1909. He was united in marriage in 1916 to Mrs. Lucy McCrea of Greenfield. Mr. Funke took a keen interest in the affairs of the community. He was active for many years in the work of the Adair County Fair association and the rearing of thoroughbred livestock. The deceased had a stroke of apoplexy September 16th and was recovering nicely until December 17th when he became ill with flu and bronchial pneumonia from which he did not recover. He is survived by his wife, fourteen children and sixteen grandchildren. Seven children reside in California: At Alhambra Mrs. Mary Stewart, Miss Emma, John, Arthur and Harry; Los Angeles, The Misses Clara and Nellie. St Louis, Missouri, Mrs. Lizzie Petry and Miss Gertrude, Naperville, IL, Mrs. Lena Gamertsfelter; in the vicinity of Greenfield, Ben, Henry, Phillip, and Frank and families.
