Sackett, 85, dean of local druggists, a leading churchman and one of the few surviving members of the class of 43 members who joined the Asbury Methodist Episcopal Church 69 years, ago, was held at 2:30 o'clock this afternoon from the Bennett Funeral Home on North Broadway, here. Burial was in Sleepy Hollow Cemetery.
Mr. Sackett, who was born in England came to this country when two years old. He spent 71 years of his life in Tarrytown. He learned pharmacy back in the days when one didn't have to go to college to learn the profession but instead had to serve a long apprenticeship under an experienced pharmacist. Mr. Sackett was the oldest member of the Westchester County Pharmaceutical Society.

Vincent Edward Sackett, son of Eli John Sackett and Amelia Terry, was born in Stepney, MiddlesexG, in 18551 and baptized at St George in the East, MiddlesexG, on 1 November 1857.2 He died by poisoning, aged 39, at Castle Street, Shulay, Bangalore, Madras, IndiaG, on 12 October 1894.3,4,5 He married in BangaloreG on 10 April 1882, Elizabeth Perrett, daughter of Thomas Perrett.6,7,8 Elizabeth was born about 1865.9 After Vincent's death, Elizabeth married second in BangaloreG on 30 December 1895, Alfred Robert Clarke, son of Alfred Clarke.
Vincent was a barge builder before enlisting in the British Army, aged 19, at Sheerness, KentG, on 1 October 1874. He served in the Royal Artillery for eighteen years, including thirteen years in India. Following his discharge in 1893 he lived in Madras. At the date of his death he was a Chelsea Pensioner, receiving his army pension as an out-pensioner.7,10
