John Bevis Sackett, son of William Sackett and Ruth Ann Bevis, was born in Thanet, KentG, in October 1851.1,2 He died aged 85 in Tarrytown, Westchester County, New York StateG, on 22 June 19373 and was buried at Sleepy Hollow Cemetery, Sleepy HollowG.5 He married first about 1875, Lavinia Johnson, daughter of George W Johnson and Clarissa A "Clara" Brewer.2 She was born in New York StateG in November 1855.2 She died aged 52 in TarrytownG on 16 April 1908 and was buried at Sleepy Hollow Cemetery, Sleepy HollowG.6 He married second in Tarrytown, Westchester CountyG, on 12 December 1931, Emma L (See) Fisher.4
     John was taken to America as a young child by his parents when they immigrated to New York in 1853.
     In 1860 John was living in Mount Pleasant, Westchester County, New York StateG, in the household of his parents William and Ruth, and was recorded in the census as John Sacket, aged eight and born in England.7
     In 1870 he was living in Greenburgh, Westchester CountyG, in the household of his parents William and Ruth, and was recorded as John Sacket, aged 18.8
     In 1880 he was living in Greenburgh, Westchester CountyG, and was recorded as John B Sackett, a druggist, head of household, married, aged 28 and born in England. Living with him were his wife Lavinia, aged 24 and born in New York, and their children, William, 3, and Clarissa, aged one. Also in the household was a nine-year-old (?) female servant.9
     In 1900 he was living at 46 Washington Street, GreenburghG, and was recorded as John B Sackett, a drug merchant, aged 48. Living with him were his wife Lavinia, 44, and their children, William, 23, Clara, 21, and Florence, 19.10
     In 1910 he was living at 41 North Washington Street, GreenburghG, and was recorded as John B Sackett, a retail drugs merchant, a widower aged 58. His unmarried daughter Clara, 30, was living with him.11
     In 1920 he was living at 52 Main Street, Tarrytown, Westchester CountyG, and was recorded as John B Sackett, a drug store proprietor, aged 66. His daughter Clara, 40, was living with him.12
     In 1930 he was living at 47 Main Street, TarrytownG, in the household of his brother-in-law George Johnson, and was recorded as John B Sackett, a drug store proprietor, aged 77.13

Tarrytown Druggist Buried Today At 85
Tarrytown, June 24—The funeral of John B. Sackett, 85, dean of local druggists, a leading churchman and one of the few surviving members of the class of 43 members who joined the Asbury Methodist Episcopal Church 69 years, ago, was held at 2:30 o'clock this afternoon from the Bennett Funeral Home on North Broadway, here. Burial was in Sleepy Hollow Cemetery.
     Mr. Sackett, who was born in England came to this country when two years old. He spent 71 years of his life in Tarrytown. He learned pharmacy back in the days when one didn't have to go to college to learn the profession but instead had to serve a long apprenticeship under an experienced pharmacist. Mr. Sackett was the oldest member of the Westchester County Pharmaceutical Society.

Vincent Edward Sackett, son of Eli John Sackett and Amelia Terry, was born in Stepney, MiddlesexG, in 18551 and baptized at St George in the East, MiddlesexG, on 1 November 1857.2 He died by poisoning, aged 39, at Castle Street, Shulay, Bangalore, Madras, IndiaG, on 12 October 1894.3,4,5 He married in BangaloreG on 10 April 1882, Elizabeth Perrett, daughter of Thomas Perrett.6,7,8 Elizabeth was born about 1865.9 After Vincent's death, Elizabeth married second in BangaloreG on 30 December 1895, Alfred Robert Clarke, son of Alfred Clarke.
     Vincent was a barge builder before enlisting in the British Army, aged 19, at Sheerness, KentG, on 1 October 1874. He served in the Royal Artillery for eighteen years, including thirteen years in India. Following his discharge in 1893 he lived in Madras. At the date of his death he was a Chelsea Pensioner, receiving his army pension as an out-pensioner.7,10
