     In 1841 William was living at Queens Street, Rotherhithe, SurreyG, and was recorded in the census as William Sackett, a labourer, aged 32 and born in Surrey. Living with him was his wife Mary Ann, aged 26.5

John Sackett, son of Thomas Sackett and Martha Setterfield, was born in Garlinge, KentG, in 18201 and baptized at St John in ThanetG on 20 August 1820.1 He died aged 52 in Canterbury, KentG, in 1872.2 He married in Woodnesborough, KentG, on 22 April 1838, Elizabeth Pilcher, daughter of James Pilcher and Mary W ___.3,4,5 She was born in Goodnestone, KentG, about 1817.6 She was possibly the Elizabeth Sackett who died in Thanet, KentG, in 1890.7
     In 1841 John was living at Cranbourne Alley, St John, Margate, KentG, and was recorded in the census as John Sackett, a carrier, aged 21 and born in Kent. Living with him were his wife Elizabeth, 24, and "Jane" Sackett, aged ten months, taken to refer to their son James. Also in the household was James Wanns?, 72, a greengrocer.8,9
     In 1851 he was living at Mount Pleasant, Canterbury, KentG, and was recorded as John Sackett, a gardener, head of household, married, aged 30 and born in Garlinge, Kent. Living with him were his wife Elizabeth, aged 33 and born in Goodnestone, Kent, their children, James, 10, Thomas, 9, and Elizabeth, 7, and a 3-month-old nurse-child, Mary Ann Burgess.10
     In 1861 he was living at Union Street, Canterbury, KentG, and was recorded as John Sackett, a gardener, head of household, married, aged 40 and born in Garlinge. Living with him was his wife Elizabeth, aged 44, and born in Goodnestone.11
     In 1871 he was living at 4 Vernon Place, Canterbury, KentG, and was recorded as John Sackett, an unemployed gardener, head of household, married, aged 50 and born in Margate. Living with him were his wife Elizabeth aged 54 and born in Goodnestone, his uncle Samuel Stonham, a 65-year-old widower, and Esther Black, a 13-year-old female general servant.12

     In 1841 Thomas was living at King Street, St John, Margate, KentG, in the household of his parents Thomas and Martha, and was recorded in the census as Thos H Sackett, aged 15 [rounded down to nearest five years] and born in Kent.9

Emma may have been an illegitimate daughter of Martha.12
     In 1891 Thomas's widow Mary was living at 34 Northumberland Road, Margate, KentG, and was recorded in the census as Mary A Sackett, a widow, aged 65 and born in Ramsgate. She was living with her daughter Kate and son-in-law James Knott.13
     In 1901 she was living in the household of her daughter Kate and son-in-law James Knott, and was recorded as Mary Sackett, a widow, aged 74 and born in Margate.14

Edward Henry Sackett, brewery worker of Margate, Kent, son of Thomas Sackett and Martha Setterfield, was baptized at St John in Thanet, KentG, on 27 January 1833.1 He died in MargateG,2 and was buried at St John in ThanetG on 27 January 1894.5 He married at Holy Trinity, MargateG, on 24 April 1859, Susannah Elizabeth Holness, daughter of John Holness.3,4 Susannah was born in Deal, KentG, about 18316,7,8,9 and died in Thanet, KentG, in 1907.10
     In 1841 Edward was living at King Street, St John, Margate, KentG, in the household of his parents Thomas and Martha, and was recorded in the census as Edward Sackett, aged eight and born in Kent.11
     In 1851 he was living at King Street, St John's, Margate, KentG, in the household of his father Thomas Sackett, a carrier, and was recorded as Edward Sackett, unmarried, aged 18, and born in Margate.12
     In 1861 he was living at 2 Addington Street, Margate, KentG, and was recorded as Edward Henry Sackett, a stoker at a brewery, married, aged 28, and born in Margate. Living with him was his wife Susannah, aged 30 and born in Deal.13
     In 1871 he was living at 70 Trinity Square, Margate, KentG, and was recorded as Edward Sackett, brewer's stoker, head of household, married, aged 38, and born in Margate. Living with him were his wife Susannah aged 39, born in Deal, and her unmarried sister Emma Holness.8
     In 1881 he was living at 70 Trinity Square, St John's, Margate, KentG, and was recorded as Edward H Sackett, a stoker at Cobbs Brewery, head of household, married, aged 48, and born in Margate. Living with him were his wife Susannah, aged 49, and born in Deal, and her unmarried sister Emma Holness, aged 30.9
     In 1891 he was living at 70 Trinity Square, MargateG, and was recorded as Edward H Sackett, a coke foreman in the gas works, head of household, married, aged 56 and born in Margate. Living with him were his wife Susannah, 57, a lodging house keeper, and her unmarried sister Emma Holness, 52, an assistant lodging house keeper.14
     In 1901 Edward's widow was living at 70 Trinity Square, Margate, KentG, and was recorded in the census as Susanah Sackett, lodging house keeper, head of household, a widow, aged 80 and born in Margate. Living with her was her unmarried sister

William Setterfield Sackett, butcher of Margate, Kent, and Brixton, Surrey, son of Thomas Sackett and Martha Setterfield, was born in MargateG in 1836 and baptized at St John in ThanetG on 15 May 1836.1 He died aged 62 at home at York House, 1 Cambria Road, Camberwell, SurreyG, on 26 March 1898.2,3 He married in Margate, KentG, on 27 December 1865, Elizabeth Robins.4,5,6 Elizabeth was born in MargateG about 18407 and died aged 76 in ThanetG in 1916.8
     In 1841 William was living at King Street, St John, Margate, KentG, in the household of his parents Thomas and Martha, and was recorded in the census as William Sackett, aged five and born in Kent.9
     In 1851 he was living at King Street, St John's, MargateG, in the household of his father Thomas Sackett, a carrier, and was recorded as William Sackett, aged 14 and born in Margate.10
     In 1861 he was living at King Street, MargateG, and was recorded as William Sackett, a butcher, head of household, unmarried, aged 25, and born in Margate. Living with him was his brother Stephen, a carrier, unmarried, aged 23, and born in Margate.11
     In 1891 he was living at 73 Millbrook Road, Brixton, SurreyG, and was recorded as William S Sackett, a meat salesman (employer), head of household, married, aged 55, and born in Margate. Living with him were his wife Elizabeth, aged 51, and born in Margate, and their unmarried daughter Annie, aged 24.7
     William made his will at Camberwell, Surrey, appointing his wife Elizabeth as executrix. The will was proved in London on 2 May 1898. The value of his real and personal estate was £1,415.3
     In 1901 William's widow was living at 86 Dane Road, MargateG, and was recorded in the census as Elizabeth Sackett, a self-employed lodging house keeper, head of household, a widow aged 61 and born in Margate. Living with her was her unmarried daughter Annie, 34.12
     In 1911 she was living at York House, 86 Dane Road, MargateG, and was recorded as Elizabeth Sackett, head of household, a widow, aged 71 and born in Margate. Living with her were her daughter Annie, 44, and a granddaughter, Marian Gordon, aged ten.13
