Francis Sackett, shipwright of Bermondsey, son of Thomas Sackett and Martha Grant, was born in Rotherhithe, Bermondsey, SurreyG, on 1 May 1795 and baptized at St Mary, RotherhitheG, on 8 May 1795.1 He died aged 58 in Stepney, MiddlesexG, in 1853.2 He married at St Mary le Bone Church, Marylebone, MiddlesexG, on 24 October 1815, Sarah Walker.3,4 She was born in SurreyG about 1798.5 She was probably the Sarah Sackett who died in Poplar, MiddlesexG, in 18636 and was buried at the City of London and Tower Hamlets Cemetery (Bow Cemetery)G on 21 September 1863.7
     Francis was apprenticed at age 14 to his father for seven years from 26 October 1809. He was admitted into the freedom of the Shipwright's Company on 28 February 1817, aged 21.8,9
     In 1841 Francis was living at Upper Matilda Place, St Mary Magdalen, BermondseyG, and was recorded in the census as Francis Sackett, aged 45, a shipwright, born in Surrey. The other members of his household were his wife Sarah, aged 43 and born in Surrey, and his children, Ann, 23, Thomas, 21, Francis, 17, Martha, 13, Emily, 8, and Mary Ann, aged five.10
     In 1851 he was living at 26 Albert Street, St. Paul's, Tower Hamlets, Shoreditch, MiddlesexG, and was recorded as Francis Sackett, head of household, married, a shipwright, aged 55 and born in Rotherhithe. Living with him were his wife Sarah aged 53, and his children Francis, 24, Ann, 30, Sarah, 28, Emily, 18, Martha, 25, and Mary, 16. His daughters Ann, Sarah, and Martha were recorded in their maiden names but were also recorded as married.11

Ann Sackett, daughter of Thomas Sackett and Martha Grant, was born in Rotherhithe, SurreyG, on 27 January 1802 and baptized at St Mary, RotherhitheG, on 26 February 1802.1 She died aged 72 in Loddon, NorfolkG,2 and was buried at the City of London and Tower Hamlets CemeteryG on 29 December 1874.5 She married at St Mary, Bermondsey, SurreyG, on 28 March 1819, Wales Peck, mariner, later a Trinity House pilot, son of Wales Peck and Judith Brooks.3,4 Wales was born in Great Yarmouth, NorfolkG, on 2 November 1797 and baptized there on 20 November 1797.6 He died aged 51 in Stepney, LondonG, on 5 April 18497 and was buried at the City of London and Tower Hamlets CemeteryG on 13 April 1849.8,9
     In 1841 Ann was living at Havering Street, StepneyG, in the household of her husband Wales Peck, 43, a pilot, and was recorded in the census as Ann Peck, aged 39. Their daughter Ann, 15, was living with them.10
     In 1851 she was living at 28 Jubliee Street, StepneyG, and was recorded as Ann Peck, an annuitant, head of household, a widow, aged 49. Her daughter Ann, 25, was living with her.11
     In 1861 she was living in Brooke, Loddon, NorfolkG, and was recorded as Ann Peck, an annuitant, head of household, a widow, aged 59. Her unmarried daughter Ann, 35, was living with her.12
     In 1871 she was living in BrookeG and was recorded as Ann Peck, an annuitant, head of household, a widow, aged 69. Her daughter Ann, 45, was living with her.13
     Wales died intestate. Administration of his estate was granted to his widow Ann by the Prerogative Court of Canterbury in July 1849. However, she did not complete the administration and a further grant was made by the Principal Registry to their daughter Ann on 25 November 1876.14

William was born about 1781.3 He died aged 33 and was buried at St Peter in ThanetG on 27 November 1814.4

Thomas Sackett, a carrier, son of John Sackett and Mary Hughes, was born in St John in Thanet, KentG, on 27 February 1791 and baptized there on 27 March 1791.1 He died aged 692 and was buried at the Zion Chapel, MargateG, on 7 August 1860.4 He married at St John in ThanetG on 7 October 1819, Martha Setterfield.3 Martha was born in Minster, KentG, about 1793.5,6 She died aged 687 and was buried at the Zion ChapelG on 6 September 1861.8
     In 1841 Thomas was living at King Street, St John, Margate, KentG, and was recorded in the census as Thos Sackett, a carrier, aged 50 and born in Kent. Living with him were his wife Martha, 42, and their children, Thomas, 15, George, 14, Elizabeth, 11, Eliza, 10, and Emma, aged nine. Their other children, Edward, 8, Catherine, 6, William, 5, and Stephen, aged two, were living a few doors away in the household of Richard Fagg.9,10
     In 1851 he was living at King Street, St John, MargateG, and was recorded as Thomas Sackett, a carrier, head of household, married, aged 60, and born in Margate. Living with him were his wife Martha and their children, Elizabeth, 20, Edward, 18, William, 14, Stephen, 12, and Emma, aged six.11

Sarah Sackett, daughter of John Sackett and Mary Hughes, was born in St John in Thanet, KentG, on 10 November 1801 and baptized there on 13 December 1801.1 She died in MargateG on 19 December 1852.2,3 She married first at St John in ThanetG on 12 October 1820, Richard Pay.4 He died in MargateG in 1839.2,6 She married second in 1843, Henry Slaughter.2,5 He died in ThanetG in 1844.2,7
     It may have been this Sarah Sackett who had a son, Thomas, baptized at St John in ThanetG on 28 November 1819, who, in turn, may have been the Thomas Sackett buried there on 29 January 1820.8,9
