Ann Sackett, daughter of Henry Sackett and Susannah Rea, was born in Orsett, Essex^G, in 1844¹ and baptized at St Giles & All Saints, Orsett^G, on 28 January 1844.² She died in infancy in Orsett^G,3 and was buried there on 23 January 1845.⁴

Sidney Sackett, son of Henry Sackett and Susannah Rea, was born in Orsett, Essex^G, in 1845¹ and baptized at St Giles & All Saints, Orsett^G, on 20 July 1845.² He died in childhood in Orsett^G in 1849.³

Jacob Sackett, son of Samuel Sackett and Elizabeth Ann Watts, was born in Thanet, Kent^G, in 1839.¹

     Jacob enlisted as a boy entrant for ten years in the Royal Navy, serving from 14 December 1857 on HMS Waterloo.⁴
     Jacob and William Sackett, recorded here as brothers, may have been the same, no records after 1857 being found for Jacob and none before 1861 for William. In particular, no birth record is found for William and no death record for Jacob.

Edward Sackett, an ironmonger, son of John Sackett and Sarah Tucker, was born in Margate, Kent^G, in 1816² and baptized at St John in Thanet^G on 21 April 1816.³ He died aged 68 at 31 Hare Street, Woolwich, Kent^G, on 22 April 1884^4,5 and was buried at Woolwich Cemetery, Greenwich^G, on 29 April 1884.⁸ He married at St John in Thanet^G on 27 July 1843, Louisa Pegden, daughter of Nicholas Pegden and Elizabeth Newman.^6,7 Louisa was born in Margate^G about 1822.⁶ She died aged 55 in Woolwich^G on 24 March 1877⁹ and was buried at Woolwich Cemetery, Greenwich^G, on 29 March 1877.¹⁰

Living with him were his wife Louisa, aged 29, and also born in Margate, and their children, Louisa, 4, and Edward, aged two. Also in the household was a female house servant.¹¹
     In 1871 he was living at 31 & 32 Hare Street, Woolwich, Kent^G, and was recorded as Edward Sackett, an ironmonger, head of household, married, aged 55, and born in Margate. Living with him were his wife Louisa, aged 49, and their unmarried children, Louisa (24), Edward (22), Julia (18), John (16), Emily Sackett, (11), and Eleanor (10). Also in the household was a female domestic servant.¹²
     In 1881 he was living at 31 & 32 Hare Street, Woolwich, Kent^G, and was recorded as Edward Sackett, an ironmonger, head of household, a widower, aged 64, and born in Margate. Living with him were his unmarried children, Louisa (30), John (24), Emily (20), and Eleanor (18). Also in the household were visitors, Mary Smith (22), and two-year-old Louisa Smith, presumably Mary's daughter, and a domestic servant, Alice Simmons.¹³
     Edward's will, made in Woolwich, Kent^G, was proved at the Principal Probate Registry on 23 August 1884. He appointed his son Edward and daughter Louisa as executors. His personal estate was valued at £7,835.¹⁴

Living with him were his wife Jane, aged 53, and born in Guildford, Surrey, and their son Alfred, aged 20.¹⁵

     In 1911 he was living at Ivy Lodge, Sanderstead Road, Sanderstead, Surrey^G, in the household of his son Alfred and daughter-in-law Fanny, and was recorded as Edward Sackett, a retired ironmonger, a widower, aged 62 and born in Margate.¹⁷

Emily Sackett, daughter of Edward Sackett and Louisa Pegden, was born in Woolwich, Kent^G, in 1859.^1,2 She died there aged 22³ and was buried at Woolwich Cemetery, Greenwich, Kent^G, on 23 December 1881.⁴

Edward Sackett, son of Edward Sackett and Jane Logan, was born in Croydon, Surrey^G, in 1875.¹ He died aged 50 in Greenwich, London^G,² and was buried at Greenwich Cemetery^G on 16 April 1925.⁵ He married in St Mary Magdalen, Woolwich, London^G, on 2 March 1896, Rose Ellen Colbourn, daughter of Charles Colbourn.^3,4 Rose was born in Charlton, Kent^G, on 12 April 1874.^6,7 She died aged 91 in Greenwich^G,8 and was buried at Greenwich Cemetery^G on 31 August 1965.⁹

     At the outbreak of the Second World War in September 1939, Edward's widow Rose was living at 48 Mayhill Road, Greenwich^G. Her daughter Gladys and son Sidney were living with her.¹⁴

John Sackett, metallurgist ore smelter, son of Edward Sackett and Jane Logan, was born in Croydon, Surrey^G, in 1876.¹ He died aged 59 at home at 37 Maryon Road, Charlton, London^G, on 5 July 1936^2,3 and was buried at Charlton Cemetery, Greenwich^G, on 9 July 1936.⁶ He married in Mile End, London^G, in 1899, Emily Alice Brill, daughter of John Brill and Mary Ann ___.^4,5 Emily was born in Plumstead, Kent^G, on 17 April 1876.^7,8 She died aged 81 at St Alfeges Hospital, Greenwich^G, on 29 June 1957^9,3 and was buried at Charlton Cemetery, Greenwich^G, on 4 July 1957.¹⁰

Living with him were his wife Emily, 24, and their daughter Edith, aged six months.¹²

     Administration of John's estate was granted on 30 July 1936 to his widow Emily. His estate was valued at £117.¹⁵
     At the outbreak of the Second World War in September 1939, John's widow Emily was living at 37 Maryon Road, Greenwich^G. Living with her were her unmarried daughters Edith and Dorothy.¹⁶
     John's widow Emily left a will which was proved on 19 July 1957 by their daughter Dorothy. Her estate was valued at £338.¹⁷

Alfred Sackett, son of Edward Sackett and Jane Logan, was born in Addiscombe, Croydon, Surrey^G, on 25 October 1880.^1,2 He died aged 69 at home at 83 Grant Road, Addiscombe, Surrey^G, on 26 November 1949.^3,4 He married in Tunbridge, Kent^G, on 5 September 1904, Fanny Skelton.^5,6 Fanny was born on 18 April 1883⁷ and died aged 93 in Croydon^G in 1976.⁸

     Alfred joined the British Army (Royal Flying Corps) on 17 August 1916, serving as a mechanic during the First World War. He transferred to the Royal Air Force on its formation on 1 April 1918. He was promoted to Sergeant Mechanic on 1 December 1918 and served until 25 April 1919 when he transferred to the reserves.¹³
     Alfred proved his father Edward's will on 29 August 1919. His estate was valued at £1,929.¹⁴
     In 1921 he was living at 83 Grant Road, Croydon, Surrey^G, and was recorded as Alfred Sackett, a plumber's fitter, head of household, aged 39. Living with him were his wife Fanny, 35, and their children, Donald, 13, and Alan, aged eight.¹⁵
     At the outbreak of the Second World War in September 1939, Alfred and Fanny were living at Grant Road, Croydon, Surrey^G. Alfred was a builder and plumber.¹⁶
     Alfred left a will which was proved on 15 February 1950 by his widow Fanny and son Alan. His estate was valued at £1,599.¹⁷

Walter Sackett, son of Walter John Sackett and Sarah Elizabeth Mills, was born in Birmingham, Warwickshire^G, in 1852.¹ He died there in infancy in 1852² and was buried at Warstone Lane Cemetery, Birmingham^G.³
