Dorothy Grace Sackett, daughter of Frank Sackett and Clara Jane L Griffiths, was born in Woodford, EssexG, on 1 October 18881,2,3 and baptized there on 2 December 1888.4 She died aged 75 at Bevendean Hospital, Brighton, SussexG, on 31 July 1964.5,6 She was unmarried.
     In 1891 Dorothy was living at Rydalmount, Grove Hill Road, Woodford, EssexG, and was recorded in the census as Dorothy G Sackett, aged two and born in Woodford, the daughter of Frank Sackett.7
     In 1901 she was living at the Royal Masonic Institute for Girls, Clapham Junction, LondonG, and was recorded as Dorothy Sackett, a pupil, aged 12, and born in Woodford.8
     Dorothy travelled to Spain in 1919 (possibly visiting Gibraltar), returning from Lisbon to Plymouth as a first-class passenger on the Demerara on 3 November 1919. She was listed as a secretary, aged 31, and her home address was 13 Clifton Gardens, Maida Vale, London, W9.9
     In 1921 she was living at 264 Elgin Avenue, Maida Vale, Paddington, LondonG, and was recorded as Dorothy Grace Sackett, secretary at the Wells Club, Old Bond Street, London, a boarder, aged 31.10
     Dorothy visited Spain again in 1922, returning through Southampton as a first-class passenger on the Araguaya on 30 September 1922. She was recorded as a secretary, aged 32, and living in the UK at 25 Warwick Avenue, London, W19.11 She made a further visit the following year, arriving back in Southampton from Lisbon as a first-class passenger on the Almanzora on 28 September 1923. Her address in the UK was again 25 Warwick Avenue.12
     At the outbreak of the Second World War in September 1939, Dorothy was living at the Stanhope Court Hotel, Kensington, LondonG, where she was the hotel manager.13
     Dorothy left a will which was proved on 26 November 1964. Her estate was valued at £2,641.14

Sidney Rupert Sackett, son of William Henry Sackett and Martha Randall, was born in Orsett, EssexG, in 18821 and baptized there on 4 June 1882.2 He died aged 37 at home in 37 Whitehill Road, Gravesend, KentG, on 8 May 19193,4 and was buried at St Giles and All Saints, OrsettG.6,7 He married in Stockport, CheshireG, in 1909, Eleanor W Birkett, daughter of Joseph W Birkett.5 Eleanor was born in Southport, LancashireG, on 16 September 1877.8,9 She died aged 78 at home at 15 Shrublands Close, Chelmsford, EssexG, on 27 November 195510,4 and was buried at All Saints Church Cemetery, Springfield, EssexG.11
     In 1891 Sidney was living at Wingfield House, OrsettG, in the household of his parents William and Martha, and was recorded in the census as Sidney Rupert Sackett, a scholar, aged eight and born in Orsett.12
     In 1901 he was living at Wingfield House, OrsettG, in the household of his father William, and was recorded as Sydney Rupert Sackett, a land agent's clerk, aged 18 and born in Orsett.13
     In 1911 he was living at 26A North View Road, Hornsey, MiddlesexG, and was recorded as Sidney Rupert Sackett, a self-employed land agent and surveyor, head of household, aged 28 and born in Orsett. Living with him was his wife Eleanor, 33.14

     Administration of Sidney's estate was granted on 7 July 1919 to his widow Eleanor. His estate was valued at £259.15
     At the outbreak of the Second World War in September 1939, Sidney's widow Eleanor was living at White Cottage, Mountain Road, Caerphilly, Glamorgan, WalesG, with her brother Walter Birkett.16
     Sidney's widow Eleanor left a will which was proved on 26 January 1956 by their daughter Brenda. Her estate was valued at £1,020.17

Harry Leonard Sackett, marine engineer, son of Edward Gaskell Sackett and Alice Horsburgh, was born in NottinghamG on 7 April 1884.1,2 He died aged 51 at the Queen Alexandra Sanitorium, London, Middlesex County, Ontario, CanadaG, on 11 November 1935 and was buried at Woodland Cemetery, London, OntarioG.5 He married in Carrington, NottinghamshireG, on 16 December 1908, Mary Keep.3,4,2 Mary was born in Headington, OxfordshireG, in 1884.2

George Sackett, son of John Andrew Sackett and Emma Booth, was born in Hove, Steyning, SussexG, on 31 October 18831,2 and baptized at St Andrew, HoveG, on 6 January 1884.3 He died aged 79 in HoveG in 1963.4
     In 1891 George was living at 46 Shirley Street, HoveG, in the household of his parents John and Emma, and was recorded in the census as George Sackett, a scholar, aged seven and born in West Brighton.5
     In 1901 he was living at 46 Shirley Street, HoveG, in the household of his widowed father John, and was recorded as George Sackett, a greengrocer working at home, aged 17 and born in Hove.6
     In 1911 he was living at 46 Shirley Street, HoveG, in the household of his widowed father John, and was recorded as George Sackett, working in his father's greengrocery business, single, aged 28.7
     George served during the First World War as a Driver (i.e. driving the teams of horses which pulled the guns) in the Royal Field Artillery. He enlisted on 28 October 1915 and was discharged on 6 November 1919 due to sickness (malaria). He was issued the Silver War Badge, indicating honourable discharge because of illness or injury. He was also awarded the Victory Medal (recognising overseas service) and the British War Medal.
     George's unit, the 2nd Home Counties Brigade, Royal Field Artillery, Territorial Force, equipped with obsolescent 15-pounder field guns, went to India, George serving there for nearly a year from May 1916 to May 1917. The Brigade was re-armed with modern 18-pounder field guns and went to Basra, Mesopotamia (now Iraq), under the command of the 17th (Indian) Division. George served there for nearly two years from May 1917 to March 1919, returning home via India in May 1919.8
     In 1921 he was living at 46 Shirley Road, HoveG, in the household of his widowed father John, and was recorded as George Sackett, greengrocer's assistant, aged 36.9
     George and his brother Alfred proved their father John's will in Lewes, SussexG, on 24 February 1931. His estate was valued at £2,962.
     At the outbreak of the Second World War in September 1939, George was living at 37 Shirley Street, Hove, SussexG, with his brother Frederick. They ran a greengrocery shop.10
     George and his brother Alfred were granted administration on 10 December 1956 of their brother Frederick's estate, valued at £800.11

Gilbert Henry Sackett, son of Frank Sackett and Clara Jane L Griffiths, was born in West Ham, EssexG, in 18951 and baptized at Woodford, EssexG, on 24 March 1895.2
     In 1901 Gilbert was living at 1 Madiera Villas, Snakes Lanes, Woodford, EssexG, in the household of his widowed mother Clara, and was recorded in the census as Gilbert Sackett, aged six, and born in Woodford.3
     Gilbert visited New York in 1916, making the return journey as a second-class passenger on the St Paul. He was at that time a clerk, aged 21, living at 625 Cathcart Hill, Tufnell Park, London.4
     Gilbert served in the British Army during the First World War as a Second Lieutenant in the Labour Corps. He relinquished his commission on account of ill-health in 1919.5

Albert Edward Sackett, son of James Uriah Miller Sackett and Harriet Mirams, was born in Ramsgate, KentG, on 23 May 1894.1,2,3 He died aged about 85 in SurreyG in 1979.4
     In 1901 Albert was living at 7 Bristol Place, RamsgateG, in the household of his parents James and Harriet, and was recorded in the census as Albert Sackett, aged six and born in Ramsgate.5
     In 1911 he was living at 158 High Street, Ramsgate, KentG, in the household of his parents James and Harriet, and was recorded as Albert Sackett, draper's assistant, aged 16 and born in Ramsgate.6
     Albert served in the First World War in the 67th Field Ambulance, Royal Army Medical Corps, part of the 22nd Division. He enlisted at Canterbury, KentG, on 27 July 1915. He served in France with the British Expeditionary Force from September to November 1915. The division then became part of the British Salonika Army, with which he served until discharge in February 1919. He was awarded the Victory Medal, British Medal, and 1914-15 Star in recognition of his active service overseas.7,8,9
     At the outbreak of the Second World War in September 1939, Albert was living at 55 Boundary Road, Ramsgate, KentG, with his mother Harriet. He was a waiter in a RAF officers' mess.10

Frank Pilcher Sackett, son of John Sackett and Maria Smith, was born in Worth, KentG, on 22 August 1881.1,2,3 He died aged 59 in Thanet, KentG, in 1941.4 He married in Eastry, KentG, in 1904, Rosa Harriet Sawkins.5 Rosa was born in Bridge, KentG, on 7 August 18726,3 and died aged 69 in ThanetG in 1942.7
     In 1891 Frank was living at Walnut Tree Cottage, Worth Village, KentG, in the household of his parents John and Maria, and was recorded in the census as Frank P Sackett, a scholar, aged nine and born in Worth.8
     In 1901 he was living at 8 Canon Flowers Cottages, WorthG, and was recorded as Frank P Sackett, an under gardener domestic, single, aged 19 and born in Worth, son of John Sackett.9
     In 1911 he was living at Marshboro, Woodnesborough, KentG, and was recorded as Frank Pilcher Sackett, a milkman, head of household, aged 28 and born in Worth. Living with him were his wife Rosa, 38, and their children, Doris, 5, Dora, 4, and Reginald, aged seven months.10

     Frank served in the British Army during the First World War as a gunner in the Royal Field Artillery. He enlisted on 29 January 1915 and was discharged on 27 September 1919 due to sickness. He was awarded the Victory Medal and the British Medal in recognition of active service overseas. He was granted a Silver War Badge, to be worn with civilian clothes to indicate that he had been honourably discharged because of illness or injury.11,12,13
     In 1921 he was living at Mill Lane, WorthG, and was recorded as Frank Pilcher Sackett, a farm labourer at G M Goodson's Felderland Farm at Eastry, head of household, aged 39. Living with him were his wife Rosa, 49, and their children, Dora, 14, and Reginald, aged eleven.14
     At the outbreak of the Second World War in September 1939, Frank and Rosa were living at Rosa, Eastry, KentG. Both were incapacitated. Their son Reginald, an agricultural labourer, was living with them.15
