Arthur Thomas Sackett, son of Alfred Thomas Sackett and Elizabeth Arthur, was born in Teignmouth, DevonG, on 9 May 1890.1,2,3 He died aged about 81 in Newton Abbot, DevonG, in 1971.4 He married in Kingsbridge, DevonG, in 1911, Grace Langworthy.5 Grace was born in KingsbridgeG on 17 October 18856,3 and died aged 89 in Newton AbbotG in 1975.7
In 1891 Arthur was living at Lake Street, Dartmouth, DevonG, in the household of his parents Alfred and Elizabeth, and was recorded in the census as Arthur T Sackett, aged ten months and born in Teignmouth.8
In 1901 he was living at North Embankment, Dartmouth, DevonG, in the household of his parents Alfred and Elizabeth, and was recorded as Arthur Sackett, aged ten and born in Teignmouth.9
In 1911 he was living at Mayor's Avenue, DartmouthG, in the household of his parents Alfred and Elizabeth, and was recorded as Arthur Thomas Sackett, an apprentice marine engineer, aged 20, and born in Teignmouth.10
Arthur served as a fitter and turner in the Royal Navy from 6 July 1911 to 5 September 1912, when he was invalided out.11
