Alice Edith Mary Sackett, daughter of Herbert Sackett and Mary Jane Ashby, was born in Canterbury, Kent^G, in 1921.¹ She died there aged 18 in 1940.²

Walter Richard Sackett, son of Richard Sackett and Sarah Bristow, was born in Thanet, Kent^G, in 1866¹ and baptized at St George's Church, Ramsgate, Kent^G, on 28 January 1866.² He died aged 39 in Thanet^G in 1905.³ He married at St Luke's Church, Ramsgate^G, on 18 February 1888, Mary Ann Bligh, daughter of Frederick Bligh.^4,5 Mary was born in Ramsgate^G about 1865.^6,7 After Walter's death, Mary married second at St Luke's Church^G on 9 March 1911 Charles Henry Buckley, a hawker, son of William Henry Buckley.^8,9

     In 1881 he was living at 12 Leopold Street, Ramsgate^G, in the household of his parents Richard and Sarah, and was recorded as Walter R Sackett, aged 16 and born in Ramsgate.¹¹
     In 1891 he was living at 10 Castle Road, St Lawrence in Thanet, Kent^G, and was recorded as Walter R Sackett, a general labourer, head of household, married, aged 25 and born in Ramsgate. Living with him were his wife Mary, aged 23 and born in Ramsgate, and their children, Walter, 3, and Olivia, aged one month.¹²

Living with him were his wife Mary, 35, and their children, Edward, 13, Olive, 11, Lizzie, 8, Kate, 3, and Maggie, aged seven months.¹³
     In 1911 Walter's widow Mary was living at 7 Edith Cottages, Margate Road, Ramsgate^G, in the household of her second husband Charles Henry Buckley, 30, a hawker, and was recorded in the census as Mary Ann Buckley, aged 43 and born in Ramsgate. Living with them were Mary Ann's Sackett children, Elizabeth, 16, Kate Florence, 13, and Minnie, 7, and her two-month-old son Charles W Henry Buckley.¹⁴
     In 1921 she was living at 7 Judith Villas, Clements Road, St Lawrence in Thanet^G, and was recorded as Mary A Buckley, married, head of household, aged 53. Living with her were her children of her first marriage, Olive Pierse, 30, (with her three children), Elizabeth Smith, 24, (with her husband and her daughter), and Amy Sackett, 18; and her son of her second marriage, Charles Buckley, aged ten.¹⁵

Edward Walter Sackett, known as Walter, son of Walter Richard Sackett and Mary Ann Bligh, was born in Thanet, Kent^G, in 1888¹ and baptized at St Paul's Church, Ramsgate, Kent^G, on 27 June 1888.² He died aged 53 in Thanet, Kent^G, in 1941.³ He married at St Luke's Church, Ramsgate, Kent^G, on 24 March 1919, Ada Porter, daughter of Thomas Francis Porter.^4,5,6 His occupation at the date of marriage was sailor.

     Walter joined the East Kent Regiment, The Buffs, at Ramsgate^G on 29 September 1905. He served only six months of a six-year enlistment, being granted a free discharge to support a parent.⁹
     In 1921 he was living at 4 Forge Cottages, St Lawrence in Thanet, Kent^G, and was recorded as Walter Sackett, an unemployed fisherman, head of household, aged 34. His wife Ada, 20, and her daughter (and Walter's adopted daughter) Hettie Sackett [Georgina], aged two, were living with him.¹⁰

Georgina Francis Porter Sackett, also known as Hettie, daughter of Edward Walter Sackett and Ada Porter, was born in Thanet, Kent^G, on 12 August 1918.^1,2 She died aged 67 in Thanet^G in August 1985.³ She married at Holy Trinity Church, Ramsgate, Kent^G, on 22 August 1936, John Gallagher Atchison, son of Ralph Atchison.^4,5,6 John was born on 12 February 1915.² He died aged 59 in Thanet^G in 1975.⁷
     In 1921 Georgina was living at 4 Forge Cottages, St Lawrence in Thanet, Kent^G, in the household of her mother Ada and adoptive father Walter Sackett, and was recorded in the census as Hettie Sackett, aged two and born in St Lawrence.⁸
     At the outbreak of the Second World War in September 1939, Georgina was living at 25 Augusta Road, Ramsgate, Kent^G, with her husband John, a miner.⁹

Olive Mercy Sackett, daughter of Walter Richard Sackett and Mary Ann Bligh, was born in Thanet, Kent^G, in 1891.¹ She married at Holy Trinity, Ramsgate, Kent^G, on 2 May 1909, Frederic Pierce.^2,3

     In 1901 she was living at 1 Salem Cottages, King Street, Ramsgate^G, in the household of her parents Walter and Mary, and was recorded as Olive M Sackett, aged eleven and born in Ramsgate.⁵
     In 1921 she was living at 7 Judith Villas, Clements Road, St Lawrence in Thanet^G, in the household of her mother Mary, and was recorded as Olive M Pierse, married, aged 30. Living with her were her children, Charles, 8, Doris, 3, and Rose, aged one.⁶

     In 1921 she was living at 7 Judith Villas, Clements Road, St Lawrence in Thanet^G, in the household of her mother Mary, and was recorded as Elizabeth Smith, a worker at a steam laundry, aged 24. Living with her were her husband Sidney Smith, 36, and her daughter Ellen Sackett [Nellie], aged eight [actually seven].⁷

Kate Florence "Kathleen" Sackett, daughter of Walter Richard Sackett and Mary Ann Bligh, was born in Thanet, Kent^G, in 1897¹ and baptized at St Paul's Church, Ramsgate, Kent^G, on 11 August 1897.² She married at St Luke's Church, Ramsgate, Kent^G, on 19 April 1919, Samuel Henry Jordan, a shipper, son of George Edmund Jordan.^3,4,5

Violet Amelia Ellen Sackett, daughter of Walter Richard Sackett and Mary Ann Bligh, was born in Thanet, Kent^G, in 1897.¹ She was baptized at St Paul's Church, Ramsgate, Kent^G, on 11 August 1897.² She died in infancy in Thanet^G in 1898.³

Minnie A Sackett, daughter of Walter Richard Sackett and Mary Ann Bligh, was born in Thanet, Kent^G, in 1903.¹ She was baptized as Amy Annie at St Paul's Church, Ramsgate, Kent^G, on 9 December 1903.^2,3 She died aged 21 in Thanet^G in 1924.⁴

Frances Sarah "Fanny" Sackett, daughter of Richard Sackett and Sarah Bristow, was born in Ramsgate, Kent^G, in 1868^1,2 and baptized at St George's Church, Ramsgate^G, on 13 September 1868.³ She died aged 55 in Thanet, Kent^G, in 1923.⁴

Living with her were her children, Albina, 20, Amy, 18, and William, aged eight, and her grandson Maurice Sackett, aged eight months.⁸

Albina Frances Jenkins Sackett, daughter of Frances Sarah "Fanny" Sackett, was born in Ramsgate, Kent^G, in 1890¹ and baptized at St Paul's Church, Ramsgate^G, on 18 June 1890.² She married in Wandsworth, London^G, in 1916, James Barnes.^3,4
