Annie Louisa Easton, daughter of James Easton and Ann Devonshire "Annie" Sackette, was born in Streatham, SurreyG, on 17 September 1859 and baptized at Christ Church, Streatham Hill, Lambeth, SurreyG, on 21 October 1859.1 She died aged 93 at home at Atherstone Hall, Atherstone, WarwickshireG, on 15 June 1953.2,3,4 She married at All Saints Margaret Street, St Marylebone, MiddlesexG, on 12 April 1882, John Edward Compton-Bracebridge, a civil engineer, son of Rev Berdmore Compton, vicar of All Saints, who conducted the marriage ceremony.5 John had been apprenticed to Annie's father's company, Easton and Anderson, and became a partner in the firm in 1884.6 He was born in Barford, WarwickshireG, on 13 July 18597,8 and died aged 78 at home at Atherstone Hall, Atherstone, WarwickshireG, on 12 December 1937.9,4
     In 1861 Annie was living at 42 Tavistock Square, St Pancras, LondonG, in the household of her parents James and Ann, and was recorded in the census as Anne Louisa Easton, aged one and born in Streatham.10
     In 1871 she was living at 42 Tavistock Square, St Pancras, LondonG, in the household of her parents James and Ann, and was recorded as Annie Louisa Easton, aged eleven and born in Streatham.11
     In 1881 she was living at 37 Norfolk Square, Paddington, LondonG, in the household of her parents James and Ann, and was recorded as Annie L Easton, aged 21.12
     In 1891 she was living at Granville Place, Marylebone, LondonG, in the household of her husband John, 31, a civil engineer, and was recorded as Annie C-Bracebridge, aged 31. Living with them were their children, Margaret, 6, Mary, 4, and James, aged two. (Their son Charles, 7, was visiting Annie's mother at the date of the census). There were five servants in the household, a nurse, under-nurse, cook, parlourmaid, and housemaid. There were also two visiting sick-nurses.13
     In 1911 she was living at Atherstone Hall, Atherstone, WarwickshireG, in the household of her husband John, 51, a retired mechanical engineer, and was recorded as Annie Louisa Compton-Bracebridge, aged 51. Living with them in the 28-room mansion was their unmarried daughter Mary, 24. There were six servants in the household: a cook, two housemaids, a kitchen maid, a between maid, and a footman.14
     Annie and her sister Marion proved their mother Ann's will in LondonG on 9 February 1916. Her estate was valued at £1,443.15
     Annie's husband John was granted administration in LondonG on 8 August 1925 of their son Charles's estate, valued at £5,818. A further grant in the sum of £2,632 was made on 8 February 1956.16,17
     John left a will which was proved in LondonG on 9 March 1938. His estate was valued at £86,936.18
     Annie left a will which was proved in LondonG on 17 October 1953 by her son James. Her estate was valued at £5,130.19
