Stephen John Sackett, son of Thomas Sackett and Harriet Langridge, was born in St Lawrence in Thanet, Kent^G, in 1839.¹ He died aged 57 and was buried in the Sleepy Hollow Cemetery, Tarrytown, Westchester County, New York State^G, on 17 January 1897.² He married about 1862, Eliza ___. She was born in England^G about 1835.³
     Stephen emigrated to America, establishing himself in New York with his wife Eliza sometime before 1863 when their first child, Phoebe, was born. A record of their voyage has not been found.
     Eliza was English and it would seem probable that she and Stephen were married in England. A possible marriage record is that of a Stephen Sackett in Stoke upon Trent, Staffordshire, England, in the June quarter 1863. Index entries on the same page as Stephen's include two marriages with brides' names of Anne Filing and Elizabeth Myat. It is possible that the latter was Stephen's wife Eliza. It is also noted that the manuscript index includes two entries, one as Sackett and one as Sockett. It is not safe therefore to conclude that this was Stephen Sackett's marriage record. There is no other evidence to suggest that Stephen, who was born in Thanet, was ever in Stoke upon Trent.⁴
     In 1841 Stephen was living at Hereson, St Lawrence in Thanet, Kent^G, in the household of his parents Thomas and Harriet, and was recorded in the census as Stephen Sackett, aged one and born in Kent.⁵
     In 1851 he was living at Hereson, St Lawrence in Thanet^G, and was recorded as Stephen J Sackett, a scholar, aged 11, born at St. Lawrence, Kent, son of Thomas Sackett.⁶
     In 1880 he was living in Glenville, Westchester County, New York State^G, and was recorded as Stephen S Sackett, a granite & marble dealer, head of household, married, aged 41 and born in England. Living with him were his wife Eliza, aged 45 and also born in England, and their children, Phorbett [sic: Phoebe], 17, Josephine, 13, and Stephen T, 8, all born in New York.³
     Stephen, his wife, and their son Stephen made a return visit to England in 1882, arriving back in New York on the Helvetia on 12 September 1882.^7,8

Walter Thomas Sackett, son of Thomas Sackett and Harriet Langridge, was born in Thanet, Kent^G, in 1845.¹ He died aged about 77 and was buried in the Sleepy Hollow Cemetery, Tarrytown, Westchester County, New York State^G, on 1 June 1922.² He married Clara D ___. She was buried in the Sleepy Hollow Cemetery^G on 9 June 1889.²
     Walter emigrated to America, probably in company with his brother Stephen who was there sometime before 1863.
     In 1851 Walter was living at Hereson, St Lawrence in Thanet, Kent^G, and was recorded in the census as Walter T Sackett, a scholar, aged six and born in St. Lawrence, son of Thomas Sackett.³
     In 1880 he was living in Mount Pleasant, Westchester County, New York State^G, and was recorded as Walter T Sackett, an iron maker, head of household, married, aged 35 and born in England. Living with him was his widowed mother Harriet, aged 73 and also born in England.⁴

Elizabeth Ann Sackett, daughter of George Sackett and Louisa Maria Haysom, was born in Shoreditch, Middlesex^G, on 9 September 1850^1,2 and baptized at Hoxton Christ Church, Middlesex^G, on 10 July 1853.³ She married at St Mary's Church, Islington, Middlesex^G, on 5 April 1874, Charles Chad, son of Abel Chad.^4,5
     In 1851 Elizabeth was living at 7 Francis Place, Hoxton, Shoreditch, Middlesex^G, in the household of her parents George and Louisa, and was recorded in the census as Elizabeth Sackett, aged six months and born in Hoxton.⁶
     In 1861 she was living at 7 Francis Place, Poole Street, Shoreditch, Middlesex^G, in the household of her parents George and Louisa, and was recorded as Elizth Sackett, a scholar, aged ten and born in Hoxton, Middlesex.⁷
     In 1881 she was living at 11 Francis Place, Hoxton Old Town, Middlesex^G, in the household of her widowed mother Louisa, and was recorded as Elizabeth Chad, aged 30. Living with her were her husband Charles, 31, and their children, Charles, 6, Alfred, 2, and James, aged nine months.⁸

Harriet Joad Sackett, daughter of George Sackett and Louisa Maria Haysom, was born in Shoreditch, Middlesex^G, on 5 March 1852^1,2 and baptized at Hoxton Christ Church, Middlesex^G, on 10 July 1853.³ She married at St John the Baptist, Hoxton, Middlesex^G, on 16 April 1876, James Henry Booth, son of William Booth.^4,5
     In 1861 Harriet was living at 7 Francis Place, Poole Street, Shoreditch, Middlesex^G, in the household of her parents George and Louisa, and was recorded in the census as Harriet Sackett, a scholar, aged nine and born in Hoxton, Middlesex.⁶

Alfred Ansell Sackett, son of George Sackett and Louisa Maria Haysom, was born in St Leonard's, Shoreditch, Middlesex^G, on 3 July 1856^1,2,3 and baptized at Hoxton Christ Church, Middlesex^G, on 1 July 1866.² He died aged 60 in Edmonton, Middlesex^G, in 1916.⁴ He married in St John the Baptist, Islington, Middlesex^G, on 30 July 1881, Minnie Sophia McMurdie, daughter of Edwin John McMurdie.^5,6,7 (This was a double wedding in which Alfred's sister Rosina and James Salter were also married.) Minnie was born in St Leonard's, Shoreditch^G, about 1858³ and died aged 70 in Islington^G in 1929.⁸
     In 1861 Alfred was living at 7 Francis Place, Poole Street, Shoreditch, Middlesex^G, in the household of his parents George and Louisa, and was recorded in the census as Alfred Sackett, a scholar, aged four and born in Hoxton, Middlesex.⁹
     In 1871 he was living at 7 Frances Place, Shoreditch^G, in the household of his widowed mother Louisa, and was recorded as Alfred Sackett, an errand boy, aged 14 and born in Shoreditch.¹⁰
     In 1881 he was living at 11 Francis Place, Hoxton Old Town, Middlesex^G, in the household of his widowed mother Louisa, and was recorded as Alfred Sackett, a mason, single, aged 24.¹¹
     In 1901 he was living at 24 Englefield Road, Hackney, London^G, and was recorded as Alfred Sackett, a stone mason, head of household, married, aged 44, and born in Shoreditch. Living with him were his wife Minnie, aged 42, and born in Shoreditch, and their unmarried 18-year-old daughter Catherine.¹²
     In 1911 he was living at 39 Carlingford Road, West Green, Tottenham, Middlesex^G, and was recorded as Alfred Sackett, a stonemason, head of household, aged 54 and born in St Leonard, Shoreditch. Living with him was his wife Minnie, 52.¹³
     In 1921 Alfred's widow Minnie was living at 71 Oakley Road, Islington, London^G, and was recorded in the census as Minnie Sophia Sackett, an unemployed florist, a widow, aged 62.¹⁴

Rosina Mary Sackett, daughter of George Sackett and Louisa Maria Haysom, was born in Shoreditch, Middlesex^G, on 22 February 1858^1,2 and baptized at Hoxton Christ Church, Middlesex^G, on 1 July 1866.² She married at St John the Baptist, Islington, Middlesex^G, on 30 July 1881, James Samuel Salter.^3,4
     In 1861 Rosina was living at 7 Francis Place, Poole Street, Shoreditch, Middlesex^G, in the household of her parents George and Louisa, and was recorded in the census as Rosina Sackett, aged three and born in Hoxton, Middlesex.⁵
     In 1871 she was living at 7 Frances Place, Shoreditch^G, in the household of her widowed mother Louisa, and was recorded as Rose Sackett, a scholar, aged 13 and born in Shoreditch.⁶
