Jane Sackett, daughter of Thomas Sackett and Rachel Baker, was baptized in Hornchurch, Essex^G, in August 1798.¹ She married at St Mary the Virgin Church, Colchester, Essex^G, on 23 July 1820, James Haddock.² He died before 1841.
     In 1841 Jane was living at Crouch Street, St Mary at the Walls, Colchester, Essex^G, in the household of her brother-in-law Jeremiah Haddock (brother of her late husband James), and was recorded in the census as Jane Haddock, aged 35 and born in Essex. Living with her were her son James, 19, and daughter Jane Emily, aged 15.³
     In 1851 she was living at First Tower, St Helier, Jersey^G, a visitor in the household of Josias M Wilkins, a retired surgeon, and was recorded as Jane Haddock, a widow, aged 50 and born in England. Also in the household were Josias's two unmarried daughters, Louisa, 52, and Sarah, 46, and a female servant. This house was next-door to that of Jane's son, James.⁴
     In 1861 Jane was living at West Stockwell Street, St Martin's, Colchester, Essex^G, in the household of her brother-in-law Jeremiah Haddock, a banker, and was recorded in the census as Jane Haddock, a widow, aged 61 and born in Finchley, Essex. Living with her were her unmarried children William, 37, and Jane, 35. Also in the household were a female cook and a housemaid.⁵
     Jane's husband James was one of the signatories to a petition to the King to spare the life of Jane's brother, Thomas Baker Sackett, following his conviction for robbery in 1827.

Catherine Sackett, daughter of William Sackett and Catherine Sargeant, was born in Orsett, Essex^G, on 14 December 1798 and baptized there on 13 January 1799.¹ She married at St Andrew's by the Wardrobe Church, Holborn, London City, Middlesex^G, on 28 April 1826, Richard James.^2,3
     In 1871 Catherine's widower Richard was living at Mill Lane, Orsett, Essex^G, and was recorded in the census as Richard James, a farmer, a widower, head of household, aged 77, and born in Orsett. Also in the household were Catherine's unmarried sister Martha, who was housekeeper, and a 13-year-old female general servant.⁴

James Sackett, son of William Sackett and Catherine Sargeant, was born in Orsett, Essex^G, on 11 August 1801 and baptized there on 20 September 1801.¹ He died aged 45 in Orsett^G,2 and was buried there on 28 May 1846.³
     In 1841 James was living at the Crown Inn, Orsett, Essex^G, and was recorded in the census as James Sackett, a bricklayer's labourer, aged 38 [actually 39] and born in Essex.⁴

Henry Sackett, farmer, son of William Sackett and Catherine Sargeant, was born in Orsett, Essex^G, on 2 May 1803 and baptized there on 17 June 1803.¹ He died there aged 76 on 6 November 1879² and was buried at St Giles and All Saints, Orsett^G.^5,6,7 He married at St Martin's Church, Worcester, Worcestershire^G, on 2 May 1838, Susannah Rea.^3,4 Susannah was born in St Peter's, Warwickshire^G, about 1811.^8,9 She died aged 71 in Orsett^G on 28 February 1883^10,11 and was buried at St Giles and All Saints^G.^7,12,13
     In 1841 Henry was living at Lodysons, Orsett, Essex^G, and was recorded in the census as Henry Sackett, a farmer, aged 35+ and born in Essex. Living with him were his wife Susannah, 25+, and one-year-old son William. Also in the household were a 45-year-old male servant (probably an agricultural labourer) and two 15-year-old female servants.¹⁴
     In 1851 Henry was living at Long Orsett Farm, Orsett, Essex^G, and was recorded in the census as Henry Sackett, head of household, aged 47 and born in Essex. He was a farmer with 300 acres, employing 15 men. Living with him were his wife Susannah, aged 36 and born in Warwickshire, and children, William, 11, Ellen, 9, Frank, 2, and Henry, one month. Also in the household were a cook and a nursemaid.¹⁵
     In 1861 Henry's wife was living in Orsett^G and was recorded as Susannah Sackett, a farmer's wife, aged 45, and born in St Peter's, Worcestershire. Living with her were her children, William, 21, Ellen, 19, Fanny, 7, Grace Edith, 5, and Sidney, aged three. Also in the household were a cook and a housemaid. It is not known where Henry was at the date of the census.¹⁶
     In 1871 he was living at the Old Rectory, Orsett^G, and was recorded as Henry Sackett, head of household, aged 67 and born in Orsett, a farmer and grazier employing five men or more on 300 acres. The other members of his household were his wife Susannah, aged 55 and born in St Peter's, Worcester, his unmarried daughter Ellen, 28, his sons, Frank, 22, and Sidney, 13, his daughters, Fanny, 17, and Grace, 15, and two female servants, a cook and a housemaid.¹⁷
     Henry's will, made at Orsett^G, was proved by his widow Susannah at the Principal Probate Registry on 4 February 1880. His personal estate was valued at under £1,000.¹⁸
     In 1881 Henry's widow Susannah was living at Chapel Road, Orsett^G, and was recorded in the census as Susannah Sackett, head of household, a widow aged 69 and born in Worcester. Living with her were her unmarried children, Frank, 32, and Fanny, 27. Also in the household was a female domestic servant.¹⁹

Martha Ann Sackett, schoolmistress, daughter of William Sackett and Catherine Sargeant, was born in Orsett, Essex^G, in 1805¹ and baptized there on 18 June 1805.² She died aged 93 at home at Blomfield Villa, Orsett^G, on 28 September 1898^3,4 and was buried at Orsett^G on 15 October 1898.⁵ She was unmarried.
     In 1841 Martha was living in Orsett^G in the household of her widowed mother Catherine, and was recorded in the census as Martha Ann Sackett, aged 35 and born in Essex.⁶
     In 1851 she was living in Orsett^G in the household of her mother Catherine, and was recorded as Martha A Sackett, a schoolmistress, unmarried, aged 45, and born in Orsett, Essex.⁷
     In 1871 she was living at Mill Lane, Orsett^G, in the household of her brother-in-law Richard James, widower of Martha's sister Catherine., and was recorded as Martha A Sackett, a housekeeper, unmarried, aged 65, and born in Orsett. Also in the household was a 13-year-old female general servant.⁸
     In 1881 she was living at High Street, Orsett^G, and was recorded as Martha Sackett, farmer of 20 acres, unmarried, aged 75 and born in Orsett. She was a visitor in the household of Elizabeth Greenaway, 85, a retired farmer.⁹
     In 1891 she was living at Mill Lane, Orsett^G, and was recorded as Martha Ann Sackett, a farmer, head of household, single, aged 85 and born in Orsett. Living with her was a 71-year-old female domestic servant.¹⁰
     Martha's will, made in Orsett, Essex^G, was proved at the Principal Registry, London, on 28 November 1898. Her nephew William Henry Sackett was the executor. The value of her estate was £224.¹¹

Jane Sackett, daughter of William Sackett and Catherine Sargeant, was baptized at Orsett, Essex^G, on 19 April 1807.¹ She died in childhood in Orsett^G on 19 January 1810 and was buried at St Giles and All Saints, Orsett^G.^2,3

Henrietta Sackett, daughter of William Sackett and Catherine Sargeant, was born in Orsett, Essex^G, in 1808 and baptized there on 1 January 1809.¹ She died aged 16 and was buried at Orsett^G on 26 December 1824.²

John Sackett, son of William Sackett and Catherine Sargeant, was born in Orsett, Essex^G, in 1812 and baptized there on 15 March 1812.¹ He died aged 9 in Orsett^G and was buried there on 28 June 1821.²
