John L Sackett, son of Charlie Rufus Sackett and Ida Ruby Hornbeck, was born in Tarkington Prairie, Liberty County, Texas^G, on 23 September 1921.^1,2,3 He died aged 70 on 26 October 1991^4,5 and was buried at the French Cemetery, Kenefick, Liberty County^G.² He married in 1942, Geraldine Batchelor. Geraldine was born on 8 June 1924.⁶ She died aged 74 on 5 September 1998 and was buried at the French Cemetery, Kenefick^G.²

     John completed a World War II draft registration card on 16 February 1942. He was aged 20 and was employed by Hubbard-Knutson-Mitchell at Channel View, Texas. He was living in Dayton, Texas^G, and he gave his father's name as his contact.⁸
     John served in the US Army during the Second World War, enlisting on 12 October 1944 and being released on 23 October 1945.⁹

     In 1930 Lee was living in Somerset, Hillsdale County, Michigan^G, and was recorded in the census as Lee Sackett, a farmer, head of household, aged 58 and born in Michigan. He owned his home. Living with him were his wife Lucy, 50, and their son George, aged 15. Also in the household was Wesley Havens, a farm laborer, presumably a relation of Lucy's.⁴

Leona Sackett, daughter of Lee Sackett and Lucy May Havens, was born in Somerset, Hillsdale County, Michigan^G, on 6 June 1908.¹ She died aged 81 in St Vincent's Hospital, Toledo, Lucas County, Ohio^G, on 8 March 1990.¹ She married in Byron, Greene County, Ohio^G, on 9 April 1946, Charles R Marsh.¹

Frederick Leroy "Fred" Sackett, son of Fred Leroy Sackett and Mary E Roberts, was born in Clinton, Worcester County, Massachusetts^G, on 16 June 1899.¹ He died aged 69 in Lenoir Memorial Hospital, Kinston, Lenoir County, North Carolina^G, on 1 February 1969² and was buried at Oakridge Memorial Park, Pink Hill, Lenoir County^G.³ He married Lillie Dixon.
