Gordon Russell Sackett, son of William George Sackett and Mary Jane Eliza McLean, was born in Swinton Park, Grey County, Ontario, CanadaG, on 6 October 1895.2,3,4 He died aged 94 in Midland, OntarioG, on 14 March 1990.5 He married in Toronto, York County, OntarioG, on 16 December 1916, Elsie Ellen Pocock, daughter of George Pocock.6 Gordon and Elsie were married for 73 years 2 months 26 days. Elsie was born in Havant, Hampshire, EnglandG, on 14 November 1899.7,8 She died aged 100 years 3 months 14 days in Midland, Ontario, CanadaG, on 28 February 2000.9
     In 1901 Gordon was living at Egremont, Grey South, OntarioG, in the household of his parents William and Mary, and was recorded in the census as Gordon Sackett, aged five, born 6 October 1895.3
     In 1911 he was living in EgremontG in the household of his parents William and Mary, and was recorded as Gordon Sackett, aged 15, born October 1895 in Ontario.10
     In 1921 he was living at Lambton Mills, Etobicoke, York County, OntarioG, and was recorded as Gordon Sackett, a carpenter, married, aged 26 and born in Ontario. He rented his home. Sylvia Martha Sackett, daughter of William George Sackett and Mary Jane Eliza McLean, was born in Egremont, Grey County, Ontario, CanadaG, on 20 October 1889.2 She was registered at birth as Martha Sylvia but changed to Sylvia Martha when a young girl. She died aged 95 in Bolton, Peel Regional Municipality, OntarioG, on 22 June 1985.3 She is named on her husband's gravestone at St John's Cemetery, Mono, Dufferin County, OntarioG.3 She married in Toronto, York County, Ontario, CanadaG, on 9 September 1908, James Edward Howatt, a carpenter, son of Richard Howatt and Eliza Lee.4 James was born in OntarioG on 14 November 1881.5 He died aged 75 in Orangeville, Dufferin County, OntarioG, on 7 April 1957 and was buried at St John's Cemetery, MonoG.3
     In 1891 Sylvia was living in Proton, Grey East, OntarioG, in the household of her parents William and Mary, and was recorded in the census as Martha S Sacket, aged one and born in Ontario.6
     In 1901 Sylvia was living in Egremont, Grey South, OntarioG, in the household of her parents William and Mary, and was recorded in the census as Sylva M Sackett, aged 11, born 20 October 1889.1
     In 1911 she was living in TorontoG in the household of her husband James Howett, 28, a carpenter, and was recorded as Selina? Howett, aged 21. Her sister Olive, 18, was living with them.7
     In 1921 she was living at 229 Maria Road, Weston, OntarioG, in the household of her husband James, 38, a carpenter, and was recorded as Sylvia Howitt, aged 31. Living with them were their children, Eileen, 11, Newton, 9, Roy, 7, and Ivan, aged six.8

Peacefully at King Nursing Home, Bolton on Saturday, June 22, 1985, Sylvia Martha Sackett, in her 96th year. Beloved wife of the late James Edward Howatt and dear mother of Eileen (Mrs. Palmer Barton), Milton; Newton, Weston; Roy, Georgetown; Bruce, Stroud and predeceased by Ivan. Fondly remembered by 6 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. Dear sister of Gordon, Sunderland; Lawrence, Hazel (Mrs. Lawrence Barton) and Etta Littler all of Toronto.
     Funeral service was held at the Egan Funeral Home, 203 Queen Street S., Bolton on Monday, June 24 at 2:00 o’clock followed by cremation.

Edna Bessie Sackett, daughter of William George Sackett and Mary Jane Eliza McLean, was born in Grey County, Ontario, CanadaG, on 22 November 1898.1,2 She died aged 49 of tuberculosis at the Toronto Hospital, York, York County, OntarioG, on 25 February 1948 and was buried at Park Lawn CemeteryG.3 She had worked as a clerk at the Canada Bread Company. She was unmarried.

     Arden Sackett served from 1862 to 1865 in the American Civil War as a Corporal in the 20th Regiment, Michigan Infantry, of the Union Army. He was wounded during the Siege of Petersburg in 1865.4,5

Lee Robert Sackett, son of Arden H Sackett and Margaret Winters, was born in Nankin Township, Wayne County, MichiganG, on 10 September 1886.2,3 He died aged 72 at the St Joseph Mercy Hospital, Ann Arbor, Washtenaw County, MichiganG, on 17 December 1958.2,3 He was buried at Riverside Cemetery, Plymouth, Wayne County, MichiganG.2 He married Mary Grace Schaufele. Mary was born about 1892.4 She was buried at Riverside CemeteryG on 14 July 1967.4
     Lee completed a World War I draft registration card on 5 June 1917. He was aged 30 and was living in PlymouthG. He was a self-employed painter.5
     He served in Russia in the First World War as a cook in Company A, 310 Engineers (the Polar Bears), supporting the White Russians.2,6
     Lee joined the Plymouth police force in 1933, and was promoted to chief of police in 1944. He held that post until his retirement in 1951.
