Francis George Sackett, son of Thomas Francis Sackett and Charlotte Pritchard, was born in Rotherhithe, SurreyG, in 1850.1 He died aged 47 in St Olave Southwark, LondonG, on 4 June 18972,3,4 and was buried at East London Cemetery.4 He married at St John the Evangelist, Walworth, SurreyG, on 5 June 1876, Emma (Oyling) Parry.5,6,7 She was born in Alton, HampshireG, in 1848.8 She was possibly the Emma Sackett who died in St Olave Bermondsey, LondonG, in 1914.9

Liivng with him were his wife Emma, aged 42, and their son Henry, 22, and his wife (not named in the record). Also in the household were William Sackett, 29, Alice Sackett, 24, and Alice, 2, described respectively as son, daughter, and granddaughter. The census record has a number of crossings out, including the words "nephew" and "wife" next to William's entry. It is likely that this William was the same as William Sackett who married Alice in Fulham in 1890 and who was, therefore, the son of Francis's fourth cousin John and his wife Ann ___. The "granddaughter" Alice would be Alice Jane Sackett born in Poplar in 1888.13

In 1911 he was living at 22 Totnes Road, Victoria Docks, Canning Town, West Ham, EssexG, and was recorded as Henry Sackett, aged 55, a labourer in an alizarin [red dye for textiles] factory. His daughter Mary Ann, 26, was living with him. They were boarders in the household of John Page.11
In 1911 Henry's wife Jane/Jenny, listed as Mrs J Sackett, was a visitor at 106 Lower Road, Rotherhithe, Bermondsey, LondonG, in the household of Thomas Walker, 49, a master stevedore. Her children, Edna May, 10, and Claude, aged eight, were with her.12
Henry and Jane would appear to have separated sometime before 1911. Jane and Thomas Henry Walker had evidently known each other for many years. Thomas Walker had married Elizabeth Ann Winnister in 1893, and a witness to that marriage had been Jane's brother Thomas Bosher Tansley. Elizabeth Walker was living alone in Rotherhithe in 1911 and in 1921. In the 1921 census she was described as married but separated. Records for Thomas Walker and for Jane in the 1921 census have not been found.
Henry's wife Jane would appear to have emigrated from England to Australia sometime before 1914 taking with her their two youngest children, Edna May and Claude. They returned to England from Sydney, New South WalesG, on the P & O ship Ballarat, arriving in London on 6 August 1914. A record of their outward journey has not been found.13
Jane and Thomas Walker were married in Romford, EssexG, in 1936.14

Thomas Francis Sackett, dock labourer, son of Thomas Francis Sackett and Phillis Elizabeth (Curry) Moore, was born in Rotherhithe, SurreyG, on 24 February 18651,2 and baptized at Christ Church, RotherhitheG, on 13 July 1870.3 He married first in Stepney, MiddlesexG, in 1885, Margaret Barnett.4,5 Margaret was born about 18678 and died aged 32 in West Ham, EssexG, in 1899.9 He married second in West Ham, EssexG, in 1906, Sarah (___) Hyslop.6,7 Sarah was born on 20 September 1864.2
In 1881 Thomas was living at 47 Benledi Street, London, MiddlesexG, and was recorded in the census as Thomas Sackett, a general labourer, aged 17 and born in Rotherhithe, in the household of his father Thomas Sackett.10
In 1901 he was living at 22 Woodstock Street, West HamG, and was recorded as Thomas Sackett, head of household, dock labourer, a widower aged 31 and born in Deptford, London. Living with him were his widowed mother Phillis, his son Daniel aged four, and a niece and nephew, Elizabeth and George Moore.11
In 1911 he was living at 76 Clifton Road, Canning Town, West Ham, EssexG, and was recorded as Thomas Sackett, a dock labourer, head of household, aged 45 and born in Rotherhithe. Living with him was his second wife, Sarah, 43, his son Daniel, 14, from his first marriage, and Sarah's children, James, 19, John, 13, and Ellen J, 12, from her first marriage. Phyllis Elizabeth Sackett, daughter of Thomas Francis Sackett and Phillis Elizabeth (Curry) Moore, was born in Poplar, MiddlesexG, on 2 November 1876.1,2 She was baptized at St Mary, Plaistow, EssexG, on 9 November 1890.3 She married at St Luke's Church, Victoria Docks, West Ham, EssexG, on 25 December 1896, John Richard Dye.4,5
