Mary Sackett, daughter of Henry Sackett and Mary Sandwell, was born in St John in Thanet, Kent^G, on 1 November 1773 and baptized there on 14 November 1773.¹ She died in infancy and was buried at St John in Thanet^G on 8 July 1774.²

Henry Sackett, farmer of Northdown, St John in Thanet, son of Henry Sackett and Mary Sandwell, was born in St John in Thanet, Kent^G, on 1 June 1776 and baptized there on 23 June 1776.¹ He died aged 70² and was buried at St John in Thanet^G on 24 December 1846.⁴ He married at St Peter in Thanet^G on 12 October 1804, Mary Brasier, his second cousin, daughter of John Church Brasier and Mary Sackett.³ Mary Brasier was born in St Peter in Thanet^G on 15 April 1784 and baptized there on 9 May 1784.⁵ She died aged 57⁶ and was buried at St John in Thanet^G on 3 February 1841.⁷
     In 1841 Henry was living at West Northdown, St John, Margate^G, in the household of his son Henry, and was recorded in the census as Henry Sackett, of independent means, aged 65 and born in Kent.⁸

Elizabeth Sackett, daughter of Henry Sackett and Mary Sandwell, was born in St John in Thanet, Kent^G, on 17 March 1778 and baptized there on 5 April 1778.¹ She died in infancy and was buried at St John in Thanet^G on 27 September 1778.²

Mary Sandwell Sackett, daughter of Henry Sackett and Mary Sandwell, was born in St John in Thanet, Kent^G, on 3 February 1780 and baptized there on 1 March 1780.¹ She died aged 33 and was buried at St Peter in Thanet^G on 23 May 1813.⁴ She married at St Peter in Thanet^G on 19 September 1804, Daniel Church Brasier, her second cousin, son of John Church Brasier and Mary Sackett.^2,3 Daniel was born in St Peter in Thanet, Kent^G, on 27 April 1778 and baptized there on 1 May 1778.⁵ After her death, Daniel married second at St Peter in Thanet^G on 2 June 1814, Elizabeth Horn.⁶ Daniel died aged 53 in St Peter in Thanet^G on 26 July 1831.⁷

Elizabeth Sackett, daughter of William Sackett and Anne Ansell, was born in St Peter in Thanet, Kent^G, on 24 February 1767¹ and baptized there on 8 March 1767.¹ It was probably this Elizabeth Sackett who married at St Mary Magdalen, Bermondsey, Surrey^G, on 20 December 1789, Robert Laurance.²

Henry Sackett, son of William Sackett and Anne Ansell, was born in St Peter in Thanet, Kent^G, on 26 April 1768¹ and baptized there on 8 May 1768.¹ He died in infancy and was buried at St Peter in Thanet^G on 7 June 1768.²

Ann Sackett, daughter of William Sackett and Anne Ansell, was born in St Peter in Thanet, Kent^G, on 13 August 1769¹ and baptized there on 24 September 1769.¹ She married in St Lawrence in Thanet^G on 17 April 1790, John Woodward.²

William Sackett, waggoner and postmaster, son of William Sackett and Anne Ansell, was baptized in Birchington, Kent^G, on 28 April 1771.¹ He died aged 90 in St Peter in Thanet, Kent^G, on 10 November 1861^2,3 and was buried there on 16 November 1861.⁵ He married at St Peter in Thanet^G on 15 October 1797, Elizabeth Holt, daughter of George Holt and Sarah ___.⁴ Elizabeth was baptized at St Lawrence in Thanet, Kent^G, on 17 November 1771.⁶ She died aged 73^7,8 and was buried at St Peter in Thanet^G on 2 July 1845.⁸
     In 1841 William was living in St Peter in Thanet^G and was recorded in the census as William Sackett, a coach maker, aged 65 and born in Kent. Living with him was his wife Elizabeth, 65. Also in the household were their daughter Hannah, son-in-law James Pay, and their children, Charlotte, 15, Jane, 10, Elizabeth, 9, and Sarah, 6.⁹
     In 1851 he was living at 26 High Street, St Peter's, Kent^G, in the household of his son-in-law, James Pay, and daughter, Hannah, and was recorded as William Sackett, former postmaster, a widower, blind, aged 80 and born in Birchington.¹⁰
     In 1861 he was living at 18 John Street, Ramsgate, Kent^G, in the household of his son-in-law James [or John?] Pay, and was recorded as William Sackett, a former postmaster, a widower, aged 89, and born in Birchington. Also in the household were his granddaughters Charlotte Hobbs, a widow aged 35, and Sarah Pay, unmarried and aged 26, and his great-grandson Thomas J Hobbs (Charlotte's son), aged seven.¹¹

Hannah Sackett, daughter of William Sackett and Anne Ansell, was baptized at Birchington, Kent^G, on 30 August 1772.¹ No further record has been found. She may have died young.

Mary Sackett, daughter of William Sackett and Anne Ansell, was born in St Peter in Thanet, Kent^G, on 19 June 1775 and baptized there on 9 July 1775.¹ It was probably this Mary Sackett who married at St Peter in Thanet^G on 4 July 1808, John Stone.²

Thomas Sackett, shipwright, son of William Sackett and Anne Ansell, was born in St Peter in Thanet, Kent^G, on 9 December 1777 and baptized there on 25 December 1777.¹ He died aged 79 in Hereson, St Lawrence in Thanet^G, on 30 August 1857^2,3,4 and was buried at the Ebenezer Independent Chapel, Ramsgate^G, on 3 September 1857.³ He married in St Lawrence in Thanet^G on 17 June 1804, Mary Ansell.⁵ Mary was born in St Lawrence^G about 1778.^6,7 She died aged 93 at Hereson^G on 23 February 1872^8,9 and was buried at the Ebenezer Independent Chapel^G on 29 February 1872.⁹
     In 1841 Thomas was living at Hereson, St Lawrence in Thanet^G, and was recorded in the census as Thomas Sackett, a carpenter, aged 60+ and born in Kent. Living with him were his wife Mary, also 60+, and children, Mary, 30+, Elizabeth, 20+, and William, 19. Thomas and Mary's son Thomas was living next door.¹⁰
     In 1851 he was living at Hereson, St Lawrence in Thanet^G, and was recorded as Thomas Sackett, a shipwright, head of household, married, aged 73 and born in St Peter in Thanet. Living with him were his wife Mary, aged 72, born in St Lawrence, their daughter Elizabeth aged 32, and their granddaughter Rachel, aged 10.¹¹ [The parents of the 10-year-old Rachel Sackett have not been identified. A record has not been found in the GRO indexes.]
     Thomas made his will in Hereson, St Lawrence in Thanet^G, on 14 June 1844, naming as beneficiaries his wife Mary, his sons Thomas, William and George, and his daughters Sarah, Mary and Elizabeth.¹² He left all his personal estate (valued at under £100) to his wife Mary, and she was to have the freehold property for life. After her death the property was to be sold and the proceeds divided equally among the children. Thomas stated in his will that his daughter Sarah was to be treated as a daughter in wedlock. Her baptism record gave her mother's name as Sarah, not Mary, although Thomas and Mary had been married for a year before Sarah's birth. The will was proved at Canterbury on 7 August 1858.
     In 1861 Thomas's widow Mary was living at Hereson, St Lawrence in Thanet^G, and was recorded in the census as Mary Sackett, head of household, a widow, aged 82, house proprietor. Living with her was her unmarried daughter Elizabeth, aged 42, a shop keeper.¹³
     In 1871 she was living at Sackett Cottages, Hereson, St Lawrence in Thanet^G, and was recorded as Mary Sackett, head of household, a widow, aged 92. Her unmarried daughter Elizabeth was living with her.¹⁴
     Thomas's widow Mary died intestate. Administration of her estate was granted to her daughter Elizabeth on 19 October 1872.¹⁵
Thomas's will

Harriet Sackett, daughter of William Sackett and Anne Ansell, was born in St Peter in Thanet, Kent^G, on 24 December 1780¹ and baptized at St Peter in Thanet^G on 7 January 1781.¹ She died aged 62 in Ramsgate, Kent^G,² and was buried at St George, Ramsgate^G, on 8 October 1843.⁴ She married at St Peter in Thanet^G on 8 December 1798, James Jarman.³ James was born about 1775.⁵ He died aged 69 in Ramsgate^G,6 and was buried at St George, Ramsgate^G, on 31 March 1845.⁷
     In 1841 Harriet was living in Ramsgate^G in the household of her husband James, 65, a bricklayer's labourer, and was recorded in the census as Harriot Jarman, aged 60 and born in Kent. Living with them was their son Samuel, aged 25.⁸

Keziah Sackett, daughter of William Sackett and Anne Ansell, was born in St Peter in Thanet, Kent^G, on 31 August 1782 and baptized there on 1 December 1782.¹ She married at St Lawrence in Thanet^G on 27 June 1801, William Crow, son of William Crow and Elizabeth Hewitt.² William (Keziah's husband) was born in St Mary, Minster, Kent^G, on 14 August 1774³ and died aged 42 on 10 January 1817.³
