Sarah Ann Jarman, daughter of Thomas Isaac Jarman and Sarah Ann Stokes, was baptized at St George, Ramsgate, Kent^G, on 25 March 1830.¹
     In 1841 Sarah was living at Frederick Place, St Lawrence in Thanet^G, in the household of her father Thomas and stepmother Elizabeth, and was recorded in the census as Sarah Jarman, aged eleven and born in Kent.²

Thomas Jarman, son of Thomas Isaac Jarman and Sarah Ann Stokes, was born in Kent^G about 1833.¹
     In 1841 Thomas was living at Frederick Place, St Lawrence in Thanet^G, in the household of his father Thomas and stepmother Elizabeth, and was recorded in the census as Thomas Jarman, aged eight and born in Kent.²

Thomas Isaac Jarman, labourer, boatman, son of James Jarman and Harriet Sackett, was baptized at St Lawrence in Thanet, Kent^G, on 27 April 1806.¹ He married first in Ramsgate, Kent^G, on 23 August 1829, Sarah Ann Stokes.² Sarah was born about 1807.⁵ She died aged 33 in Thanet^G in 1841.⁶ He married second in St Peter in Thanet, Kent^G, on 26 May 1841, Elizabeth Smith (Streaem) Hammond, daughter of Thomas Streaem.^3,4 Elizabeth was born in Dover, Kent^G, about 1799.⁷ She died aged 59 in Thanet^G in 1858⁸ and was buried on 21 October 1858.⁹
     In 1841 Thomas was living at Frederick Place, St Lawrence in Thanet^G, and was recorded in the census as Thomas Jarman, a labourer, aged 35 and born in Kent. Living with him were his wife Elizabeth, 40, and Thomas's children by his first marriage, Sarah, 11, and Thomas, aged eight.¹⁰
     In 1851 he was living at 6 Frederick Place^G and was recorded as Thomas Jarman, a boatman, head of household, aged 45 and born in Ramsgate. Living with him were his wife Elizabeth, 52, a laundress, their daughter Ann, 7, and Elizabeth's daughter Mary, 16, from her previous marriage.¹¹
     In 1861 he was living at Hereson, St Lawrence in Thanet^G, and was recorded as Thomas Jarman, a mason's labourer, head of household, a widower, aged 54. His daughter Ann, 16, was living with him.¹²

William Sackett Jarman, grocer, son of James William Jarman and Mary Kirby, was born in Herne, Kent^G, in 1836¹ and baptized there on 6 June 1836.² He married first at the Independent Chapel, Ramsgate, Kent^G, on 25 March 1856, Elizabeth Sarah Offen.^3,4 She was born in Ramsgate^G in 1835⁷ and died in 1873.⁸ He married second in Thanet, Kent^G, in 1874, Eliza Ann White.⁵ She was born about 1845⁹ and died aged 32 in Dartford, Kent^G, in 1878.¹⁰ He married third in Islington, Middlesex^G, in 1880, Eliza Williams.⁶ She was born in Deal, Kent^G, about 1845.¹
     In 1851 William was living at 13 Alfred Cottages, Ramsgate, Kent^G, in the household of his parents James and Mary, and was recorded in the census as William S Jarman, a grocer's boy, aged 14 and born in Herne.¹¹
     In 1881 he was living at 35 Great Queen Street, Dartford, Kent^G, and was recorded as William S Jarman, a grocer, head of household, married, aged 44 and born in Kent. Living with him were his third wife Eliza, 35, and children from his first marriage, Kate, 15, and William, 12.¹²

William Sackett Jarman, mariner, son of James Jarman and Harriet Sackett, was born in St Lawrence in Thanet, Kent^G, in 1819 and baptized there on 16 May 1819.¹ He died aged 67 in Dunedin, Otago, New Zealand^G, on 11 June 1886 and was buried at Port Chalmers Cemetery, Dunedin^G.⁴ He married in Ramsgate, Kent^G, on 16 June 1842, Sarah Elizabeth Goldsmith.^2,3
     In 1851 William was living at Cliff Court, Ramsgate, Kent^G, and was recorded in the census as William S Jarman, a mariner, head of household, aged 32 and born in Ramsgate. His wife Sarah, 29, was living with him.⁵
