Mrs. Sackett
In ill health for three years Mrs. Jane Bell Powers Sackett, wife of Jonathan Sackett, died at 9:45 p. m. Saturday at her home, 3010 Edgewood Ave. She had resided in Alton for 19 years.
A former resident of near Meredocia, she was born May 19, 1896, at Bluffs. She was married to Jonathan Sackett, May 11, 1921, at Jacksonville.
Mrs. Sackett was a member of Curdle Heights Baptist Church.
Surviving beside her husband are two sons, Byron, Rolling Meadows, and Glen, Alton; two daughters, Mrs. Joseph Pennock, Bethalto, and Mrs. Mary Carr, Edwardsville; a sister, Mrs. Henry Mattis, Arenzville; two brothers, L. B. Powers, Concord, and Lloyd, Meredosia; 14 grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews.
A son, Daniel, preceded her in death.
Funeral rites will be conducted Wednesday at 2 p. m. in Curdle Heights Baptist Church by the Rev. Lolard Simmons. Burial will be in Roselawn Memory Gardens.
The body is at Smith Funeral Home, Alton, where friends may call after 7 p. m. today.

Lucious Harrison Sackett, son of Asa White Sackett and Iva Cole, was born in Hadley Township, IllinoisG, on 26 June 1856. He died aged 69 in Pleasant Hill, Pike County, IllinoisG, on 2 May 1926. He married about 1888, Laura Alice Williams.1
