Sarah Jemima Sackett, daughter of Nathan Sackett and Martha Patricia Duncan, was born in Quincy, Owen County, Indiana^G, on 25 September 1838.¹ She died aged 85 in Rushville, Illinois^G, on 23 July 1924.¹ She married first in Owen County^G on 2 June 1853, Willis Beels.^2,3 She married second in Putnam County, Indiana^G, on 23 December 1860, William M Givens.^4,5 She married third in Putnam County^G on 6 February 1873, John Oliver Ashley.⁶
     In 1850 Sarah was living in Cloverdale, Putnam County, Indiana^G, in the household of her parents Nathan and Martha, and was recorded in the census as Sarah G Sackett, aged twelve and born in Indiana.⁷
     In 1860 she was living in Cloverdale^G in the household of her parents Nathan and Martha, and was recorded as Sarah J Sackett, aged 21. Her daughter Martha Beels, aged five, was living with her.⁸
     In 1870 she was living in Cloverdale^G in the household of her parents Nathan and Martha Sackett, and was recorded as Sarah Givens, aged 30. Her children, Martha, 16, William, 9, and Mary, 5, were living with her.⁹

Laura Ellen Sackett, daughter of John Benjamin Sackett and Elizabeth Bandy, was born in Cloverdale, Putnam County, Indiana^G, on 26 May 1866.^1,2,3 She died aged 76 in Clay County Hospital, Brazil, Clay County, Indiana^G, on 11 February 1943 and was buried at Cottage Hill Cemetery, Brazil, Clay County^G, on 14 February 1943.⁵ She married in Clay County, Indiana^G, on 7 December 1883, William Henry Brill, son of Heinrich "Henry" Brill and Catherine Elizabeth Tulley.⁴ William was born in Poland, Clay County^G, on 14 June 1859.⁶ He died aged 72 on 10 May 1932⁶ and was buried at Cottage Hill Cemetery^G.⁶
     In 1870 Laura was living in Cloverdale, Putnam County, Indiana^G, in the household of her parents John and Elizabeth, and was recorded in the census as Laura E Sackett, aged six [actually four] and born in Indiana.⁷
     In 1880 she was living in Harmony, Clay County, Indiana^G, in the household of her widowed mother Elizabeth, and was recorded as Laura E Sackett, aged 14 and born in Indiana.⁸
     In 1900 she was living at Jackson Street, Brazil, Clay County, Indiana^G, in the household of her husband William, 40, a coal miner, and was recorded as Laura Brill, aged 34 and born in Indiana. Living with them were their children, Mamie, 13, Guy (wrongly listed as May), 11, Myrtle, 10, and Leah, aged six.⁹
     In 1910 she was living in Posey, Clay County, Indiana^G, in the household of her husband William, 49, a coal mine laborer, and was recorded as Laurie E Brill, aged 47. Living with them were their children, Mamie, 22, Leah, 18 (but see note), Guy, 21, Myrta, 15, William, 7, and Doris, aged eleven months.¹⁰
     In 1920 she was living at South Waterworks Road, Posey^G, in the household of her husband William, 60, a coal miner, and was recorded as Laura Brill, aged 50. Living with them were their children, William Jr, 16, and Doris, aged eleven.¹¹
     In 1930 she was living at Waterworks Road, Posey^G, in the household of her husband William, 68, a laborer in a clay works, and was recorded as Laura Brill, aged 59. They owned their home.¹²

Lydia Margaret Sackett, daughter of John Benjamin Sackett and Elizabeth Bandy, was born in Indiana^G on 3 June 1871.² She died in Terre Haute, Vigo County, Indiana^G, on 24 February 1945.² She was buried in the Cottage Hill Cemetery, Brazil, Indiana^G.² She married at Clay County, Indiana^G, on 4 April 1887, Charles Wesley Brill, son of Heinrich "Henry" Brill and Catherine Elizabeth Tulley.²

Bernice Marie Brill, daughter of Charles Wesley Brill and Lydia Margaret Sackett, was born in Harmony, Clay County, Indiana^G, on 24 December 1891.¹ She died in Dunedin, Pinellas County, Florida^G, on 24 July 1967.¹ She was buried at the Parklawn Memorial Gardens, Dunedin^G, on 27 July 1967.¹ She married first in Paris, Edgar County, Illinois^G, on 30 August 1911, Lester Guy Roberts.¹ She married second in Los Angeles, California^G, on 1 July 1922, Peter A Venne.¹

Eugene B Brill, son of Charles Wesley Brill and Lydia Margaret Sackett, was born in Clay County, Indiana^G, on 30 August 1896.^1,2 He died aged 58 in Terre Haute, Vigo County, Indiana^G, on 25 June 1955¹ and was buried at Cottage Hill Cemetery, Brazil, Clay County^G.¹

Jemima Barnes, daughter of Daniel Barnes and Sarah Sackett, was baptized at North Haven, New Haven County, Connecticut^G, on 8 November 1761.² She married at North Haven^G on 22 March 1781, Ebenezer Pardee, son of John Pardee.²
