Dexter B Sackett, son of Lieutenant Martin Sacket and Miriam Bancroft, was born in MassachusettsG on 1 June 1806.1,2 He died aged 90 in Cortland, DeKalb County, IllinoisG, on 13 February 18971 and was buried at Mound Rest Cemetery, CortlandG.4 He married first on 10 October 1832, Electa Bement, daughter of Judah Bement.1 Electa was born in Norwich, Chenango County, New York StateG, in August 1808.4,5 She died aged 55 in Plymouth, Chenango CountyG, on 20 December 1863 and was buried at South Plymouth Cemetery, Chenango CountyG.4 He married second in Whiteside County, IllinoisG, on 7 September 1864, Eliza (Gregory) Ingham, widow of Luman H Ingham.3 Eliza was born in 1819.6 She died aged about 79 in 1898 and was buried at Mound Rest Cemetery, CortlandG.4

Mr. Dexter B. Sackett passed away at his home in Cortland last Saturday evening at the age of 90 years, 8 months and 18 days. The funeral will be held at the M. E. church Tuesday at 2 p.m. Interment will be in the Cortland cemetery.

It is not often that a woman remains single until she is 70 years of age and then marries. We are not informed as to the circumstances leading to this unusual event, or the age of the bridegroom.

Russell R Sackett, farmer, son of Lieutenant Martin Sacket and Miriam Bancroft, was born in Plymouth, Chenango County, New York StateG, on 23 May 1819.1,2 He died aged 64 on 12 May 1884.1 He married in 1842, Deborah Brown, daughter of Pardon Brown and Mary Sheldon.1 Deborah was born in PlymouthG about 1817.2

Rev Lester M Sackett, Methodist minister, son of Lieutenant Martin Sacket and Miriam Bancroft, was born in Plymouth, Chenango County, New York StateG, on 29 November 1822.1,2 He died aged 37 in Chenango CountyG on 17 October 18601 and was buried at South Plymouth Cemetery, Chenango CountyG.3 He married in January 1854, Calphurnia Lucinda Garrett, daughter of Ulricus Garrett and Lucinda Murdock.1 Calphurnia was born in Madison County, New York StateG, on 13 September 1834.4,5 After Lester's death, Calphurnia married second, Elijah Buell, in 1871, and third, Charles W Dain, in 1902. She died aged 80 in Norwich, Chenango CountyG, on 22 July 1915.5,6

Calphurnia's obituary
Norwich [Chenango Co., NY]: Mrs. Calphurnia Dain, widow of Charles W. Dain, passed away July 22 at her home on Guernsey street, aged 81. She was the daughter of Ulricus and Lucinda Murdock Garrett, in their day well known residents of Plymouth, and was born September 13, 1837 [sic: probably 1834]. About the year 1854 deceased married Rev. Lester Sackett, a Methodist minister, who served as pastor of several charges in this vicinity and was with the church in Kings Settlement at the time of his death in 1860. Eleven years later, in 1871, Mrs. Sackett married Elijah Buell, of Kings Settlement. They later took up their residence in Norwich, living on North Broad street at the time of Mr. Buell's death, in 1897. December 18, 1902, his widow married her third husband, Charles W. Dain, who died 1913.
