Lawrence Elbert Sackett, son of Filertus Sackett and Sarah Ann Davis, was born in IndianaG on 9 October 1853.1 He died aged 62 in Los Angeles, CaliforniaG, on 10 September 1916 and was buried at the Los Angeles Odd Fellows CemeteryG.6 He married first in Bates County, MissouriG, on 4 January 1876, Kate Ella Knickerbocker, daughter of James Henry Knickerbocker and Clara Nagle.2,3 Kate was born in PennsylvaniaG on 20 October 1855.7,1 She died aged 42 on 18 September 1898 and was buried at Green Lawn Cemetery, Columbus, Franklin County, OhioG.8,9 He married second in Kansas City, Jackson County, MissouriG, on 23 September 1906, Alice C Henry.4 Alice was born in MissouriG about 1860.7 He married third in Chicago, Cook County, IllinoisG, on 25 September 1911, Caroline Elizabeth Cain.5 Caroline was born about 1869.10
In 1860 Lawrence was living in Wright, Wayne County, IowaG, in the household of his parents Filertus and Sarah, and was recorded in the census as Larence E [sic] Sacket, aged six and born in Indiana.11
In 1870 he was living in Butler, Bates County, MissouriG, in the household of his parents Filertus and Sarah, and was recorded as Lawrence Sackett, aged 16.12
In 1880 he was living in ButlerG and was recorded as L E Sacket, a sewing machine agent, aged 26. Living with him were his wife Kate, 24, and their children, Clara Ann, 3, and Charles W, aged five months.13
In 1895 he was living in Parsons, Labette County, KansasG, and was recorded as L E Sackett, 41, a sewing machine agent. Living with him were his wife Kate, 39, and their children, Clara, 18, Charles, 15, and Maud, 10.14

Lawrence removed to Los Angeles, CaliforniaG, in about 1913, taking up an appointment as a branch manager of the Singer Sewing Machine Company.1,17

Elbert Sackett Dead
L. Elbert Sackett, a former resident of this city, died Sunday, September 10, 1916, at his home in Los Angeles, California, after a year's illness. He is survived by a widow, two daughters and a son. He was a native of Indiana and was about 62 years old.
Mr. Sackett was well known in Butler, having spent a good part of his early life here. Mr. Sackett erected McCoy Candy Shop on the south side of the square.

Valentine would have been one of Ellen's six unnamed children each left £6 in the will of their uncle Robert Sackett made at St John in ThanetG on 16 February 1660 and proved on 25 March 1664.
Valentine was left the residue of the estate, after bequests to his sisters, of his brother Leonard in his will made at Tilmanstone, KentG, on 17 August 1670. He was also appointed executor.4
