James E. Keeler, 79, of RD1 Rexford, died yesterday in Utica.
A native of Rexford, Mr. Keeler was employed as a carpenter and building contractor. He was a member of Amity Reformed Church in Vischers Ferry.
He is survived by a son, James S. Keeler of Rexford; two daughters, Mrs. Ralph Beck of Mechanicville and Mrs. Lloyd Teourtellot of Elnora; 11 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and two cousins.

Sir Richard Burton, son of Sir John Burton and Honor Harvey-Thursby, was born on 23 November 1773.1 He died aged 81 in Sackett's Hill House, St Peter in Thanet, KentG, on 3 September 18552,3,4 and was buried at St Peter in ThanetG on 8 September 1855.8 He married in St Peter's ChurchG on 27 April 1802, Elizabeth Crofts, daughter of Robert Crofts.1,5,6,7 Elizabeth was born in St Peter in ThanetG about 17829 and died aged 82 at Sackett's Hill HouseG on 26 October 1865.10,11
In 1861 Richard's widow Elizabeth was living at Sackett's Hill, St Peter in ThanetG, and was recorded in the census as Elizbth Burton, widow of a knight, head of household, aged 78 and born in St Peter's. Her daughter, May/Mary?, 57, and a six-year-old boy were visiting. There were four servants: cook, housemaid, coachman, and footman.12
Sir Richard was an Equerry to King William IV, by whom he was styled 'The First Gentleman of Thanet'. When the King came over from Hanover from time to time and landed at Broadstairs or Ramsgate, Sir Richard met His Majesty and put him up at Sackett's Hill House.11
(Note: Sir Richard Burton of Sackett's Hill House was not the same as, nor related to, the more famous Sir Richard Francis Burton, the Victorian explorer and translator who, among much else, brought the Kama Sutra to publication in English. An error of identity in the local Thanet Gazette in 1916 was corrected in a letter from Colonel Burton-Brown, grandson of the Sackett's Hill Sir Richard.)11
