Edward Wheadon, master mariner, son of John Wheadon and Susanna Pardy, was born in St Peter Port, Guernsey^G, about 1816.¹ He died aged 79 at home at La Couture, St Peter Port^G, on 26 April 1896^2,3 and was buried at Candie Cemetery, St Peter Port^G.³ He married in Vale Church, Guernsey^G, on 25 May 1844, Elizabeth Le Pelley, daughter of Denis Le Pelley and ___ Le Sauvage.⁴
     In 1861 Edward was living at Grenada, Couture Road, St Peter Port^G, and was recorded in the census as Edward Wheadon, a master mariner, head of household, married, aged 45 and born in St Peter Port. Living with him were his wife Elizabeth, 49, their children, Edward, 15, William, 13, and George, 11, and a niece, Mary Ann Allez, 16. Also in the household was a charwoman.⁵
     In 1871 he was living at Grenada, Fosse André, St Peter Port^G, and was recorded as Edward Wheadon, a master mariner, head of household, married, aged 56? and born in St Peter Port. Liivng with him were his wife Elizabeth, 59, their unmarried sons, Edward, 25, William, 23, and George, 21, and an unmarried niece, Mary Ann Alles, 26.⁶
     In 1881 he was living at Grenada House, Fosse André, St Peter Port^G, and was recorded as Edward Wheadon, a retired master mariner, head of household, married, aged 64 and born in St Peter Port. Living with him were his wife Elizabeth, 69, and unmarried niece Mary Ann Allez, 36.⁷
     In 1891 he was living at Grenada House, Fosse André, St Peter Port^G, and was recorded as Edward Wheadon, retired master mariner, head of household, married, aged 74 and born in St Peter Port. Living with him were his wife Elizabeth, 79, and niece Mary Ann Allez, 48.⁸

George Samuel Wheadon, son of Edward Wheadon and Elizabeth Le Pelley, was born in St Peter Port, Guernsey^G, about 1850.¹ He married Bertha Harriet Hansford, daughter of James Hansford and Edith Haggett.
     In 1851 George was living at Normanville Road, St Peter Port^G, in the household of his mother Elizabeth, and was recorded in the census as George S Wheadon, aged two and born in St Peter Port.²
     In 1861 he was living at Grenada, Couture Road, St Peter Port^G, in the household of his parents Edward and Elizabeth, and was recorded as George S Wheadon, a scholar, aged 11 and born in St Peter Port.³
     In 1871 he was living at Grenada, Fosse André, St Peter Port^G, in the household of his parents Edward and Elizabeth, and was recorded as George S Wheadon, a grocer's clerk, unmarried, aged 21 and born in St Peter Port.⁴
     In 1881 he was living at 2 Essex Cottages, Fosse André, St Peter Port^G, and was recorded as George S Wheadon, a merchants' clerk, head of household, married, aged 31 and born in St Peter Port. Living with him were his wife Bertha, 29, and their children, Edith, 7, Bertha, 5, Hubert, 3, and Lily, aged one. Also in the household was a female general servant.⁵
     In 1891 he was living at Fosse André, St Peter Port^G, and was recorded as George S Wheadon, a foreman in a wine and spirit and grocery business, head of household, married, aged 41 and born in St Peter Port. Living with him were his wife Bertha, 39, and their children, Edith, 17, Bertha, 15, Hubert, 13, Lily, 11, Ruth, 9, James, 9, and Albert, aged six.⁶
     In 1901 he was living at Fosse André, St Peter Port^G, and was recorded as George S Wheadon, manager of a wine, spirit, and tobacco merchants, head of household, married, aged 51 and born in St Peter Port. Living with him were his wife Bertha, 49, a ladies and childrens outfitter, and their children, Bertha, 25, Lily, 21, Ruth, 18, and Dorothy, aged seven. Also in the house were a female housekeeper and her son.⁷
     In 1911 he was living at The Hollies, Fosse André, St Peter Port^G, and was recorded as George Samuel Wheadon, a shop assistant in a wine merchants, head of household, aged 61 and born in St Peter Port. Living with him were his wife Bertha, 59, proprietor of a ladies outfitters, and their unmarried daughters, Bertha, 35, Ruth, 28, and Dorothy Wheadon, aged 17, all employed in their mother's business. Also in the household was a female domestic servant.⁸

Hubert George Wheadon, son of George Samuel Wheadon and Bertha Harriet Hansford, was born in St Peter Port, Guernsey^G, on 6 November 1877.¹ He married Anita Julia Adcock, daughter of William Bayley Adcock and Susan Julia Robin.
     In 1881 Hubert was living at 2 Essex Cottages, Fosse André, St Peter Port^G, in the household of his parents George and Bertha, and was recorded in the census as Hubert G Wheadon, aged three and born in the Castel.²
     In 1891 he was living at Fosse André, St Peter Port^G, in the household of his parents George and Bertha, and was recorded as Hubert G Wheadon, a scholar, aged 13 and born in St Peter Port.³
     In 1901 he was living at Essex House, Couture, St Peter Port, Guernsey^G, and was recorded as Hubert G Wheadon, a grocer, china and salt merchant, head of household, married, aged 23 and born in St Peter Port. Living with him were his wife Anita, 22, and their son Lloyd, aged eleven months.⁴
     In 1911 he was living at Essex Cottage, Couture, St Peter Port^G, and was recorded as Hubert George Wheadon, a sub-manager, wine & tobacco merchants, head of household, aged 34 and born in St Peter Port. Living with him were his wife Anita, 32, and their children, Lloyd, 10, Bertha, 9, James, 7, Gwendoline, 6, John, 3, and Hubert, aged two. Also in the household was a female domestic servant.⁵

James George William Wheadon, son of Hubert George Wheadon and Anita Julia Adcock, was born in St Peter Port, Guernsey^G, on 23 November 1902.¹ He died aged 68 at the Princess Elizabeth Hospital, St Martin's, Guernsey^G, on 19 May 1971.² He married in Richmond, Surrey^G, in 1931, Betty Florence D'Arcy-Gwynn, daughter of Reginald Snow Gwynn and Cecil Ada D'Arcy.^3,4
     In 1911 James was living at Essex Cottage, Couture, St Peter Port^G, in the household of his parents Hubert and Anita, and was recorded in the census as James George Wheadon, aged seven (actually eight) and born in St Peter Port.⁵

John Wheadon, of Crookhorn, Somerset, was born say 1790. He died before 1841. He married at the Town Church, St Peter Port^G, on 13 March 1811, Susanna Pardy, daughter of John Pardy and Susanna Rogers.¹
