Elizabeth Davies, daughter of Benjamin Davies and Margaret ___, was born in St Clears, Carmarthenshire, Wales^G, about 1848.¹ She was probably the Elizabeth Swaffield who died aged 59 in Pontypridd registration district, Glamorgan^G, in 1911.⁷ She married first in Pontypridd, Glamorgan^G, in 1870, William Morgan, son of John Morgan and Mary Davies.^2,3 She married second in Aberavon Parish Church, Aberavon, Glamorgan^G, on 13 August 1893, Henry Swaffield, son of Richard Swaffield.^4,5,6

Living with them were their children, Mary, 18, Sarah, 10, Lilly, 5, and Dannie, aged one. There were also two male boarders in the household, one of whom, Henry Swaffield, was to become Elizabeth's second husband.¹¹
     In 1901 she was living at 5 Cross Street, Ystradyfodwg, Glamorgan^G, in the household of her daughter Mary and son-in-law David Williams, and was recorded as Elizabeth Swaffield, aged 50 and born in St Clears. She was living with her second husband Henry Swaffield, 41, a stone mason. Her son Daniel Morgan, 11, and David and Mary's adopted son Willie Williams, aged three, were also living there. Also in the household was a 14-year-old female general servant.¹²
