Nicholas Robin, master mariner and corn merchant, son of Peter Robin and Elizabeth Cohu, was born in Castel, GuernseyG, about 1805.1 He married Susan Benet, daughter of ___ Benet and Ann ___. He died aged 76 at Kings Road, St Peter PortG, on 10 January 1882.2
In 1851 Nicholas was living at Kings Road, St Peter PortG, and was recorded in the census as Nicholas Robin, keeper of a flour and grain store, head of household, married, aged 45 and born in the Castel. Living with him were his wife Susan, 39, their children, Ann, 13, Eliza, 11, Charles, 8, Jane, 4, and Susan, aged one, and Nicholas's widowed mother-in-law Ann Benet, aged 84.3
In 1861 he was living at 1 Kings Road, St Peter PortG, and was recorded as Nicholas Robin, a corn dealer, head of household, married, aged 59 and born in St Peter Port. Living with him were his wife Susan, 49, and their children, Ann, 23, Eliza, 21, Charles, 19, Jane, 14, and Susan, aged eleven.4
