Isabel Sackett, daughter of Jacob Thomas Sackett and Mary Jane Woodring, was born in Pennsylvania^G about 1855.¹

     In 1870 she was living in Saegertown^G in the household of her parents Jacob and Mary, and was recorded as Isabella Sackett, at home, aged 15.³

Jacob Thomas Sackett, blacksmith, gunsmith, and violin maker, son of Harvey Sacket and Mary Straw, was born in Hayfield Township, Crawford County, Pennsylvania^G, in January 1833.¹ He died aged 71 in Saegertown, Crawford County^G, on 16 March 1904 and was buried at Saegertown Cemetery^G.² He married Mary Jane Woodring, daughter of Solomon Woodring. Mary was born in Pennsylvania^G in December 1833.^3,1 She died aged about 83 in 1917 and was buried at Saegertown Cemetery^G.²
     Jacob Sackett, described modestly in census records as a blacksmith, was, more significantly, a skilled gunsmith, and, rather surprisingly given the delicacy of craftsmanship required, a violin maker.
     In 1850 Jacob was living in Woodcock, Crawford County^G, in the household of his parents Harvey and Mary, and was recorded in the census as Jacob Sackett, aged 16 and born in Pennsylvania.⁴
     In 1860 he was living at Saegertown, Crawford County, Pennsylvania^G, and was recorded as Jacob Sacket, a blacksmith, aged 27. Living with him were his wife Mary, 26, and their children, Isabel, 5, and William, aged ten months.⁵
     Jacob registered for the Civil War draft in Pennsylvania^G on 15 July 1863. He was a blacksmith of Saegertown, married, aged 30 and born in Pennsylvania.⁶
     In 1870 he was living in Saegertown^G and was recorded as Jacob Sackett, a blacksmith, aged 39 [actually 37]. Living with him were his wife Mary J, 38 [actually 36], and their children, Isabella, 15, and William, aged eleven.⁷
     In 1880 he was living in Saegertown, Crawford County, Pennsylvania^G, and was recorded as Jacob Sacket, a blacksmith, head of household, married, aged 46. Living with him were his wife Mary, 46, and their sons, William, 20, and James, aged nine.⁸
     In 1900 he was living in Woodcock, Crawford County, Pennsylvania^G, and was recorded as Jacob T Sackett, a blacksmith, head of household, aged 67. He owned his home free of mortgage. Living with him were his wife Mary, 66, and their unmarried son James, aged 29.⁹

James W Sackett, son of Jacob Thomas Sackett and Mary Jane Woodring, was born in Pennsylvania^G in May 1871.¹ He married Blanche Lang.
     In 1880 James was living in Saegertown, Crawford County, Pennsylvania^G, in the household of his parents Jacob and Mary, and was recorded in the census as James W Sacket, at school, aged nine and born in Pennsylvania.²
     In 1900 he was living in Woodcock, Crawford County, Pennsylvania^G, in the household of his parents Jacob and Mary, and was recorded as James W Sacket, a laborer, single, aged 29.³

Jesse Lee Sackett, son of Homer Sackett and Helen Elliot, was born in Pennsylvania^G in November 1875.¹ He died aged 51 of carbon monoxide poisoning at his workplace in Clarksburg, Harrison County, West Virginia^G,¹ and was buried at the Masonic Cemetery, Clarksburg^G, on 11 November 1926.¹ He married Lovie Ellen ___.
     In 1880 Jesse was living in Saegertown, Crawford County, Pennsylvania^G, with his parents Homer and Helen in the household of Homer's parents Harvey and Mary, and was recorded in the census as Jessie Sacket, aged five and born in Pennsylvania.²
     Jesse completed a World War I draft registration card on 12 September 1918. He was then aged 41 and was a gas pressure regulator at the Clarksburg Light & Heat Company. He was living at Timberlake Apartments, Clarksburg, Harrison County, West Virginia^G, with his wife Lovie.³
     In 1920 he was living in Clarksburg^G and was recorded as Jesse L Sackett, plumber at the Light & Heat Company, head of household, aged 40 [actually 44] and born in Pennsylvania. He rented his home. Living with him was his wife Lovie, 30.⁴

Montgomery E F Sackett, son of Harvey Sacket and Mary Straw, was born in Woodcock, Crawford County, Pennsylvania^G, in March 1830.^1,2 He died there aged about 82 in 1912.¹ He married in Pennsylvania^G in 1861, Mary Kleckner.¹
     In 1850 Montgomery was living in Woodcock, Crawford County^G, in the household of his parents Harvey and Mary, and was recorded in the census as Montgomery Sackett, aged 18 and born in Pennsylvania.³

     In 1880 he was living in Saegertown^G and was recorded as Montgomery Sacket, a brick mason, head of household, married, aged 49. Living with him were his wife Mary, 38, and their daughter Eve, aged 18.⁷

Sarah Elizabeth "Lizzie" Sackett, daughter of Harvey Sacket and Mary Straw, was born in Saegertown, Crawford County, Pennsylvania^G, on 12 March 1836.¹ She died aged 84 in Erie County, Pennsylvania^G, on 9 September 1920.¹ She married in Crawford County^G on 19 June 1862, Rev Robert Jackson Gifford.¹ He was born in Watsburgh, Erie County^G, on 11 June 1831¹ and died aged 72 in Erie County^G on 12 November 1903.¹
     In 1850 Sarah was living in Woodcock, Crawford County^G, in the household of her parents Harvey and Mary, and was recorded in the census as Elizabeth Sackett, aged 12 and born in Pennsylvania.²
     In 1860 she was living in Saegertown, Crawford County^G, in the household of her parents Harvey and Mary, and was recorded as Elisabeth Sacket, a schoolteacher, aged 22.³
     In 1880 she was living in Greene, Erie County, Pennsylvania^G, in the household of her husband Robert, a farmer, and was recorded as Lizzie Gifford, a housewife, aged 42. Living with them were their sons, Jesse, 17, Charles, 9, Gale, 7 and Blaine, 3, and daughter Mertie, aged 15.⁴

William Harvy Sackett, blacksmith, son of Jacob Thomas Sackett and Mary Jane Woodring, was born in Saegertown, Crawford County, Pennsylvania^G, on 25 July 1859.¹ He died aged 79 in Saegertown^G on 10 April 1939 and was buried at Saegertown Cemetery^G on 12 April 1939.^3,4 He married about 1887, Harriet M "Hattie" Lytle, daughter of James A Lytle and Mary Cummings.² Harriet was born in Pennsylvania^G in 1867.² She died aged about 65 in 1932 and was buried at Saegertown Cemetery^G.⁴

     In 1920 he was living at Euclid Avenue, Saegertown^G, and was recorded as William H Sacket, a laborer on the Erie railroad, head of household, aged 60. Living with him were his wife Hattie, 52, and their children, Herbert, 22, Gerald, 14, and Catherine, aged twelve.¹⁰
     In 1930 he was living at Euclid Avenue, Saegertown^G, and was recorded as William H Sackett, head of household, aged 70. He owned his home. Living with him were his wife Hattie, 60, their unmarried son Gerald, 24, and their daughter Catherine, 23, with her husband William H Marvin, and their one-year-old daughter Janet.¹¹

Harriett Schade, daughter of Philip J Schade and Myrtle Mae "Mertie" Gifford, was born in 1888.¹ She died in 1961.¹ She married Amandus Guelcher. He was born in 1886¹ and died in 1973.¹

Magdalena Sackett, daughter of William Sackett and Gertrude Meserole, was born probably in Newtown, Long Island, New York State^G, about January 1825² and died there aged 25 on 14 March 1850.^3,4

Eliza Vark Sackett, daughter of Nathan B Sackett and Gertrude Vark Raynor, was born on 3 March 1852¹ and died in infancy on 11 July 1852.²

She married George O Bradford. Alice Bradford, daughter of Nathaniel G Bradford Jr and Mary Abigail Sackett, was born say 1857.¹
