Charles E Woodbury, son of Jonathan Woodbury and Frances Mary Ruggles, was born in Wilmot, Annapolis County, Nova Scotia, Canada^G, on 3 August 1833.¹ He died aged 56 in DeSoto, Vernon County, Wisconsin^G, on 21 July 1890.¹ He married in Wilmot^G on 25 December 1851, Elizabeth Ann Bishop, daughter of William Bishop and Rebecca Morse.¹ Elizabeth was born in Wilmot^G on 19 May 1832.¹ She died in DeSoto^G on 30 April 1907.¹

Charles Levi Woodbury, son of Charles E Woodbury and Elizabeth Ann Bishop, was born in Paradise, Annapolis County, Nova Scotia, Canada^G, on 18 December 1853.¹ He died aged 88 in Carson, Grant County, North Dakota^G, on 27 December 1941.¹ He married first ___ ___.¹ He married second at Freeman Creek, Wisconsin^G, on 18 May 1898, Anna Howarth, daughter of Dennis Howarth and Hannah ___.¹ Anna was born in DeSoto, Vernon County, Wisconsin^G, on 25 April 1876.¹ She died in Miles, Iowa^G, in 1958¹ and was buried at Carson^G.¹

Charles Lanoth Woodbury, son of Charles Levi Woodbury and Anna Howarth, was born in DeSoto, Vernon County, Wisconsin^G, on 30 December 1901.¹ He died in Modesto, Stanislaus County, California^G, on 16 June 1979.¹ He married first in Carson, Grant County, North Dakota^G, on 12 May 1926, Maude Emma Lackey, daughter of Claude Lackey and Adina Jorgenson.¹ They were divorced sometime before 1942 in California^G.¹ He married second presumably in North Dakota^G about 1942, Ruby Hanson.¹

Leo William Sackett, son of Charles Grant Sackett and Lueva Inez Haynes, was born in El Dorado, California^G, on 6 July 1894.² He married about 1916, Georgia Lauretta Orendorf. Georgia was born in California^G on 8 July 1899³ and died aged 88 in Sacramento, California^G, on 8 November 1987.³
     Leo completed a World War I draft registration card on 5 June 1917. He was aged 22 and was married. He was living in California^G and was a brakeman at the Feather River LWC.⁴

Charles Grant Sackett, son of Heman S Sackett and Phoebe Ann Wilkie, was born at Stonedraker's Mill, El Dorado County, California^G, on 17 August 1869.^1,2 He died in El Dorado County^G on 13 November 1944.³ He married first in College City, Colusa County, California^G, on 20 December 1888, Delpha Tanner.¹ They divorced in 1892.¹ He married second about 1892, Lueva Inez Haynes, daughter of William Riley Haynes and Sarah Robinson.¹ Lueva died on 10 October 1916.¹ He married third about 1917, Nora Mildred (___) Cole.¹

     In 1880 he was living at Mud Springs, El Dorado County^G, in the household of his parents Heman and Phoebe, and was recorded as Charles Sackett, at school, aged twelve.⁵

Heman S Sackett, teamster, farmer, son of Marvin Sacket and Polly Nelson, was born in Lewis County, New York State^G, in 1825.^1,2 He died aged about 64 in Arbuckle, Colusa County, California^G, on 1 January 1890.³ He married about 1846, Phoebe Ann Wilkie.⁴ Phoebe was born in Utica, Oneida County, New York State^G, on 26 June 1824.¹ She died aged 73 in Plymouth, Amador County, California^G, on 15 February 1898.⁵
     In 1850 Heman was living in Wilmurt, Herkimer County, New York State^G, and was recorded in the census as Heman Sackett, a farmer, aged 25 and born in New York. Living with him were his wife Phoebe, 25, and their children, Edward, 3, and George, aged two. Heman's brothers Roswell and James were living in adjacent properties.⁶
     In 1855 he was living in Wilmurt^G and was recorded as Heman Sackett, a laborer, head of household, aged 29 and born in Lewis County. Living with him were his wife Phoebe, 29, and their children, Edward, 7, George, 6, Sarah Etta, 3, and Stephen, aged seven months. Heman's brother Byron, 17, was also in the household.⁷
     Heman and his family migrated from New York to California in the late 1850s.
     In 1860 he was living in Mountain Township, El Dorado County, California^G, and was recorded as Heman S Sackett, a teamster, aged 36. Living with him were his wife Phoebe, 36, and their children, Edward, 13, George, 11, Sarah, 9, Stephen, 6, and John, aged eleven months. There was also a male Chinese cook in the household.⁸

     Heman was granted land by patent in El Dorado County^G on 10 April 1875.¹¹
