Stephen Sackett Chancellor, baker, later a wharfinger, son of John Chancellor and Sarah Hester Dixon, was born in Margate, KentG, about 17921 and baptized at St John in ThanetG on 22 January 1792.1 He died aged 85 in Thanet, KentG, on 15 July 1877.2,3 He married at St John in ThanetG on 1 July 1815, Mary Elizabeth Tadhunter, daughter of William Tadhunter and Mary Steed.4 Mary Tadhunter was born in Canterbury, KentG, about 17905 and baptized at Canterbury St MargaretG on 13 February 1791.5
In 1826 Stephen was a baker of 70 High Street, MargateG.6
In 1841 Stephen was living at Lower Marine Terrace, St John's, MargateG, and was recorded in the census as Stephen Chancellor, a wharfinger, aged 49 and born in Kent. Living with him were his wife Mary, 50, and children, Elizabeth, 20, and Francis, aged 14. There were four other occupants including a female servant.7

Stephen Sackett Chancellor, baker, son of Stephen Sackett Chancellor and Mary Elizabeth Tadhunter, was born in Margate, KentG, in 18181 and baptized at St John in ThanetG on 22 March 1818.1 He died aged 81 in Thanet, KentG, in 1900.2 He married first at St John in ThanetG on 15 December 1840, Louisa Bartlett, daughter of John Bartlett and Lydia ___.3 Louisa was born in MargateG in 18195 and baptized at St John in ThanetG on 7 November 1819.5 She died aged about 42 in MargateG in 1861.6 He married second at St Luke's, West Holloway, Islington, MiddlesexG, on 13 January 1874, Elizabeth Charlotte Lansell, daughter of Thomas Lansell.4
In 1841 Stephen was living at Bridge Street, MargateG, and was recorded in the census as S S Chancellor, a baker, aged 20+ and born in Kent. Living with him was his wife Louisa, aged 20+. There was an Elizabeth Rogers, aged 15+, in the household and may have been three others, one male and two females, including a female servant.7
