Andy Sackett, son of Frederick Plummer Sackett and Susan Earl, was born in Van Buren County, MichiganG, on 3 November 1869.1 He died aged 75 in MichiganG on 17 February 1945.1 He married at Van Buren CountyG on 23 October 1892, Mary E Dorgan.1 Mary was born on 27 November 18731 and died aged 84 on 18 July 1958.1
     In 1880 Andy was living in Pine Grove, Van Buren County, MichiganG, in the household of his parents Fred and Susan, and was recorded in the census as Andy Sackett, aged ten and born in Michigan.2
[Andy Sackett] grew up on the family farm northeast of Gobles, Michigan. When about seventeen he went north with his brother, Earl, and worked in a saw mill. At the age of twenty-two he married Mary F. Dorgan on October 23, 1892. For a short time he worked as a barber and then moved on to the farm which he purchased and lived on until he died on February 17, 1945. He was a good farmer and a good man.

     In 1903, Andy was involved, with his brother Stanley, in the purchase of land at Pine Grove.3
     In 1910 he was living in Pine Grove, Van Buren County, MichiganG, and was recorded as Andy Sackett, a farmer, head of household, aged 40 and born in Michigan. He owned his home and farm on a mortgage. Living with him were his wife Mary, 36, and their children, Iva, 14, Susan, 12, Russell, 9, Howard, 6, and Greta, aged eight months.4
     In 1920 he was living in Pine GroveG and was recorded as Andy Sackett, a self-employed farmer, head of household, aged 50. He owned his home on a mortgage. Living with him were his wife Mary, 46, and their children, Iva, 24, Susie, 22, Russell, 18, Howard, 16, Greta, 10, and Horace, aged five. There was also a male boarder in the household.5

Bette Jeanne Sackett, daughter of Earl Bascom Sackett and Flora Angie Ruth Moore/Bowler, was born in Ellensburg, Kittitas County, Washington StateG, on 4 April 1923.1 She died aged 100 years 7 months and 28 days in Marysville, Snohomish County, Washington StateG, on 2 December 2023.1,2 She married first in Seattle, King County, Washington StateG, on 10 May 1942, Philip McNeil Morris, son of Oliver Dole Morris and Mabel Elizabeth McNeil. Philip was born in Seattle, King County, Washington StateG, on 17 October 1921.2 They divorced sometime before 1955. Philip died aged 59 in King CountyG on 19 September 19814,5 and was buried at Lake View Cemetery, SeattleG.2 She married second in SeattleG on 18 November 1955, Glenn Sheldon Secord, son of Henry Mortimer Secord and Isabelle Delphine Nesbit.3 Glenn was born in Grand Forks, Grand Forks County, North DakotaG, on 9 July 1909.6,7 He died aged 80 in Redmond, King CountyG, on 26 April 1990.8,9
     In 1930 Bette was living at 916½ East John Street, SeattleG, in the household of her parents Earl and Flora, and was recorded in the census as Betty J Sackett, aged six and born in Washington State.10
     In 1940 she was living at 109 West Bertona, SeattleG, in the household of her parents Earl and Flora, and was recorded as Betty Sackett, aged 16.11

Betty Jean Secord

Betty Jeane Secord passed away peacefully at the age of 100 on December 2, 2023. Betty was born April 4, 1923 in Ellensburg, WA and was the only child of Earl Bascom Sackett and Flora Angy Ruth (Moore) Sackett. Betty graduated Class of ’41 from Queen Anne High School in Seattle. In 1942, she married her first husband, Philip M Morris and they had 6 children, 5 surviving. Betty married her second husband, Glenn S. Secord in 1955 and the couple made their home in Seattle with Glenn’s three boys and Betty’s five children. They were happily married until his passing in 1990. Betty then moved to downtown Edmonds where she lived for almost 30 years.
     Betty was a life member of the Analia Chapter #112 Order of Eastern Star, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution, and the National Huguenot Society.
     She enjoyed travel, golf, working at the Edmonds food bank and playing cards.
     Betty is survived by her children Philip Morris of Snohomish, Robert Morris of Arlington, Jo Ann Harris of Bellevue, Bette Thorstenson of Edmonds, Sara Bowser of Reno, NV, Paul Secord of Kirkland and Jay Secord of Redmond along with numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Betty Jane Sackett, daughter of Irving Dewitt Sackett and Elizabeth Peters, was born in Oil City, Venango County, PennsylvaniaG, on 24 February 1923.1 She died aged 90 in Girard, Erie County, PennsylvaniaG, on 24 September 20131 and was buried at Girard CemeteryG.1 She was unmarried.
     Betty was a 1942 graduate of Strong Vincent High School and was employed for many years at various banks in the Girard area. She was an avid photographer who had her own dark room. She was a member of Rosalind Rebekah Lodge #207 and of Girard United Methodist Church.
     In 1930 Betty was living at 36 South 2nd Street, Indiana Borough, Indiana County, PennsylvaniaG, in the household of her parents Irving and Elizabeth, and was recorded in the census as Betty Jane Sackett, aged seven and born in Pennsylvania.2

Beverly Ann Sackett, daughter of Manley Ray Sackett and Mabel Ruth Thomas, was born in Colfax, Whitman County, Washington StateG, on 15 January 1935.1 She died aged 83 in Peoria, ArizonaG, on 21 December 2018.2 She married in Millwood, Spokane County, Washington StateG, on 18 June 1954, Frank August Treibel, son of August J Treibel and Marie Ann Stitz.1,3 Frank was born in Washington StateG about 1934.4

Mr. and Mrs. Frank A. Treibel (Beverly Ann Sackett) left for California following their wedding recently at Millwood Community Presbyterian church.
     The bridegroom is stationed at Ford Ord, Calif.
     The Rev. Roy E. Howes officiated at the ceremony. Organist was Mrs. Jerry Naimy and vocalist, Miss Patricia Kennedy.
     The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Manley R. Sackett, N4302 Argonne. She designed and made her bridal gown of embroidered organdy and lace over taffeta. Matching lace and pink rosebuds formed the headband for her veil. She carried a colonial bouquet of white Esther Reed daisies and pink rosebuds.
     Miss Janet Windecker in pink dotted swiss over taffeta was the bride's only attendant. She carried pink daisies and blue delphinium.
     The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Treibel, E8717 Alki. He was attended by Dick Cramer as best man. Ushers were Clarence Robison, LaFrance Smith and Cpl. Earl Sackett of Fort Lewis, brother of the bride.
Brothers Light Tapers
Tapers were lighted by Fred and Ray Sackett, brothers of the bride. Pink and white peonies, pink lupine and white daisies decorated the church and reception room.
     Assisting at the reception were Mrs. B. E. Edwards of Walla Walla, Mrs. John H. Thomas, Mrs. Hunter Darby, Mrs. Harriet Savage and the Misses Nancy Thomas, Pauline Thomas of Seattle, Pat Ramble, Joanne Stall-smith and Barbara Linda and Norma Naimy.
     The couple are graduates of West Valley high school. Mr. Treibel attended Washington State college for two years. His bride has been employed as a dental assistant.
     Among the out-of-town guests were G. H. Thomas, grandfather of the bride, and Nancy and Monte Thomas of Walla Walla.

Burton Sackett, son of Burt Alonzo Sackett and Mary E Clark Vincent, was born in Bergen, Genesee County, New York StateG, on 10 January 1910.1,2 He died aged 69 in Genesee CountyG in November 19791 and was buried at Mount Rest Cemetery, BergenG. He married on 24 August 1933, Mildred Reynolds.3 Mildred was born on 24 July 1910.3 She died aged 72 in BergenG on 23 September 19823,4 and was buried at Mount Rest CemeteryG.4
     In 1910 Burton was living at Rochester Street, Bergen, Genesee County, New York StateG, in the household of his parents Burt and Mary, and was recorded in the census as Burton Sackett, aged three months and born in New York.5
     In 1920 he was living at Rochester Street, BergenG, in the household of his parents Burt and Mary, and was recorded as Burton Sackett, aged nine and born in New York.6
     In 1930 he was living at Rochester Street, BergenG, in the household of his parents Burt and Mary, and was recorded as Burton Sackett, a laborer, aged 20.7
     In 1940 he was living in BergenG and was recorded as Burton Sackett, owner/operator of a gas station, head of household, aged 30. Living with him were his wife Mildred, 29, and their sons, Bruce, 5, and Ronald, aged one.8

September 23, 1982, age 72, she is survived by 3 sons, Bruce of MT., Ronald of Bergen and Roger of IN; 2 daughters-in-law, Barbara of IN. and Joan of Marion; 9 grandchildren; 2 brothers, Harold Reynolds of FL., Merton Reynolds of Bergen; 2 sisters, Mrs. Walter (Edna) Rowe of Fishers and Lois McCall of Macedon; several nieces and nephews.
     No prior calling. A memorial service will be held Saturday, September 25 at 2 p.m. from the Methodist Church of Bergen. Interment Mt. Rest Cemetery at the convenience of the family. Friends wishing may make contributions to the Bergen Methodist Church or the Bergen Rescue Squad. Reference, Foweir Funeral Home Inc., Brockport.
