James Watson Sackett, farmer, son of Oliver Sackett and Esther Wing, was born in Greene, Chenango County, New York State^G, on 8 March 1838.¹ He died aged 70 in Thurston County, Washington State^G, on 2 February 1909 and was buried at Odd Fellows Memorial Park, Tumwater, Thurston County, Washington State^G.¹ He married at Forest Home, Antrim County, Michigan^G, on 10 June 1876, Lorinda Estella Badgley.²
     In 1850 James was living in Greene, Chenango County, New York State^G, in the household of his parents Oliver and Esther, and was recorded in the census as Jone W Sackett [sic], aged twelve and born in New York.^3,4
     In 1860 he was living in Greene^G in the household of his parents Oliver and Esther, and was recorded as James Sackett, a farm laborer, aged 23.⁵

Jane Harriet Sackett, daughter of Oliver Sackett and Esther Wing, was born in Greene, Chenango County, New York State^G, on 21 May 1846.¹ She died aged 73 in Antrim County, Michigan^G, on 19 April 1920.¹ She married at New York State^G about 1870, George Vandemark.¹

     Oliver served as a Private in the New York State Infantry during the War of 1812.^7,8

Living with him were his wife Esther, 43, and their children Samuel, 19, Lydia, 18, Phoebe (listed as O E), 16, Alzina (listed as S E), 14, James (listed as Jone), 12, Rachel, 11, Mary, 8, Charles, 7, Oliver, 6, John, 4, Jane (listed as Jone), 4, and Esther, aged two.¹¹
     In 1860 he was living in Greene^G and was recorded as Oliver Sackett, a farm laborer, aged 64. Living with him were his wife, Esther, 53, and their children, Samuel, 30, James, 23, Rachel, 22, Mary, 19, George [who must surely have been Charles], 17, John, 14, Jane, 14, and Esther, aged twelve.¹²
     In 1880 Oliver's widow Esther was living in Greene^G and was recorded in the census as Esther Sackett, head of household, a widow, aged 74. Her unmarried son John, 33, was living with her.¹³

Oliver Benjamin Sackett, son of Oliver Sackett and Esther Wing, was born in Greene, Chenango County, New York State^G, on 25 May 1844.¹ He died aged 66 in Rapid City, Kalkaska County, Michigan^G, on 22 January 1911.¹ He married first at Elk Rapids, Antrim County, Michigan^G, on 30 April 1874, Matilda Rosemond Anderson.¹ Matilda was born in Canada^G on 30 March 1854. She died aged 32 on 4 May 1886. He married second at Forest Home, Antrim County, Michigan^G, on 24 May 1888, Eva Lycene Ablett.¹ Eva was born in New York State^G in December 1851. She died aged 72 in Wayland, Allegan County, Michigan^G, on 1 November 1924.

Rachel Sackett, daughter of Oliver Sackett and Esther Wing, was born in Greene, Chenango County, New York State^G, on 8 March 1839.¹ She died aged about 65 in 1904² and was buried at Sylvan Lawn Cemetery, Greene, Chenango County, New York State^G.³ She married Almaron Hanes. Almaron was born in 1847.³ He died aged about 78 in 1925 and was buried at Sylvan Lawn Cemetery^G.³

Alice Sarah Sackett, daughter of Oliver Benjamin Sackett and Matilda Rosemond Anderson, was born in Leelanau County, Michigan^G, on 3 October 1876.¹ She died in Traverse City, Grand Traverse County, Michigan^G, on 9 August 1957.¹ She married at Kewadin, Milton Township, Antrim County, Michigan^G, on 29 September 1897, Chester Gilbert Barnes.¹ Chester was born in Myrtle, Ontario, Canada^G, on 29 January 1867. He died in Milton Township^G on 16 April 1951.
