Samuel E Sackett, son of Samuel Sackett and Julia Ann Heath, was born in Blue Creek Township, Adams County, IndianaG, on 29 August 1843.1,2,3 He died aged 71 in Little River County, ArkansasG, on 9 December 1914 and was buried at the Camp Ground Cemetery, Winthrop, Little River CountyG.2 He married in Adams CountyG on 28 December 1865, Jemima Beeman.1 Jemima was born in Franklin County, OhioG, on 13 October 1847.2 She died aged 77 in Little River CountyG on 10 March 19252 and was buried at the Camp Ground CemeteryG.2
     Samuel Sackett served as a Union soldier in the American Civil War in the 13th Regiment, Indiana Cavalry.4
     In 1850 Samuel was living at Blue Creek, Adams County, IndianaG, in the household of his parents Samuel and Julia, and was recorded in the census as Samuel Sacket, aged seven and born in Indiana.5
     In 1860 he was living at Blue CreekG in the household of his widowed mother Julia, and was recorded as Samuel Sackett, aged 16.6

Jonathan "John" Andrew Sackett, son of Samuel E Sackett and Jemima Beeman, was born in Adams County, IndianaG, on 24 July 1871.2 He died aged 74 in Mount Pleasant, Titus County, TexasG, on 23 October 19453 and was buried in the Damascus Cemetery, Titus CountyG.3 He married at Winthrop, Little River County, ArkansasG, on 26 February 1893, William Ophelia Smith, daughter of Benjamine Franklin Smith and Emaline Stevens.4 William Ophelia was born in Collins County, TexasG, on 12 March 18734 and died aged 75 in Mount Pleasant, Titus County, TexasG, on 20 December 1948.4 (Her brother Thomas Riley Smith married Jonathan's sister Elizabeth.)
     In 1920 Jonathan was living at Cason Road, Justice Precinct #5, Titus County, TexasG, and was recorded in the census as John A Sackett, a farmer, head of household, aged 50. Living with him were his wife Ophelia, 46, and their children, Emma, 20, Mae, 17, Ophelia, 15, Ione, 12, Cleo, 10, Gracie, 9, and Elbert, aged six.5
