John Ashby Sackett, son of John Ashby Sackett and Elizabeth Sophia Silvester, was born in Pancras, MiddlesexG, in 1856.1 He married first in Thanet, KentG, in 1876, Sarah Ann Strood.2,3 She was born in Canterbury, KentG, about 18557 and died aged 25 in Elham, KentG, in 1881.8 He married second at St Peter and St Paul, Bromley, KentG, on 4 September 1883, Annie Sarah (Skinner) Stuart, daughter of George Skinner.4,5,6 She was born in West Malling, KentG, in 1855.9,10
In 1861 John was living at Grafton Street, St Pancras, LondonG, in the household of his parents John and Elizabeth, and was recorded in the census as John Sackett, a scholar, aged five and born in St Pancras.11
In 1871 he was living at 19 Chapel Place, Ramsgate, KentG, in the household of his parents John and Elizabeth, and was recorded as John Sackett, aged 15 and born in London.12
In 1881 he was living at 3 James Terrace, Folkestone, KentG, and was recorded as John A Sackett, a painter, head of household, married, aged 25 and born in St Pancras, Middlesex. Living with him were his wife Sarah, aged 25 and born in Canterbury, Kent, and their children, Edward, 4, Arthur, 3, and Edith, aged one.13
John has not been found in the 1891 census. His wife Annie was recorded as Annie Sackett, a domestic servant (a cook), married, aged 36 and born in West Malling, Kent. She was living at 26 Bouverie Road West, Folkestone, KentG, as a servant in the household of Charles Miller Layton, a retired soldier.14 There had evidently been a domestic upheaval as John's children had all been re-housed. Four of the children, Edward, 14, and Arthur, 12, by the first marriage, and Harry, 6, and Clara, 5, by the second marriage, were in care at the Cottage Homes for Elham Union at Cheriton, Kent. Of the other children of the first marriage, Edith, 11, was in domestic service in Folkestone, and John, 10, was a lodger in the household of a greengrocer, also in Folkestone.

Arthur Ashby "Albert" Sackett, son of John Ashby Sackett and Sarah Ann Strood, was born in Folkestone, KentG, in 18781,2 and baptized at Folkestone ChurchG on 2 February 1880.3 He died aged 50 in Sculcoates, YorkshireG, on 1 January 1929.4,5,6 He married at Ramsgate Christ Church, KentG, on 25 September 1901, Harriet Jane Haywood "Ettie" (Dray) Kember, daughter of Mary Ann Foster Dray.7,8 Harriet was born in RamsgateG on 16 March 18649,2,10 and died aged 76 in Hull, YorkshireG, in 1940.11

Living with him were his wife Harriet, 47, Harriet's widowed mother Mary Ann Foster Dray, 72, Harriet's daughter Matilda, 16, and Arthur Henry Dray, aged five, a nephew.14 Arthur overstated his age by four years in the census, and appears also to have similarly overstated his age to his wife, who was fourteen years older than him. He died at age 50 but his death record, presumably based on information supplied by his widow, gives his age as 55.

Geoffrey Frank Sackett, son of Frank William Sackett and Lydia Ellen Hawkes, was born in Maidstone, KentG, on 16 February 1922.1,2 He died aged 78 in Maidstone, KentG, on 29 May 2000.2,3,4 He married first in Malling, KentG, in 1940, Lily May Elcombe, daughter of William Elcombe and May M Homewood.5,6 Lily was born in MallingG on 29 April 1923.8,9 She died aged 48 in MaidstoneG on 8 June 1971.2,10 He married second in Maidstone, KentG, in 1974, Kathleen D Crundwell.7
