John Ashby Sackett, son of John Ashby Sackett and Elizabeth Sophia Silvester, was born in Pancras, Middlesex^G, in 1856.¹ He married first in Thanet, Kent^G, in 1876, Sarah Ann Strood.^2,3 She was born in Canterbury, Kent^G, about 1855⁷ and died aged 25 in Elham, Kent^G, in 1881.⁸ He married second at St Peter and St Paul, Bromley, Kent^G, on 4 September 1883, Annie Sarah (Skinner) Stuart, daughter of George Skinner.^4,5,6 She was born in West Malling, Kent^G, in 1855.^9,10
     In 1861 John was living at Grafton Street, St Pancras, London^G, in the household of his parents John and Elizabeth, and was recorded in the census as John Sackett, a scholar, aged five and born in St Pancras.¹¹
     In 1871 he was living at 19 Chapel Place, Ramsgate, Kent^G, in the household of his parents John and Elizabeth, and was recorded as John Sackett, aged 15 and born in London.¹²
     In 1881 he was living at 3 James Terrace, Folkestone, Kent^G, and was recorded as John A Sackett, a painter, head of household, married, aged 25 and born in St Pancras, Middlesex. Living with him were his wife Sarah, aged 25 and born in Canterbury, Kent, and their children, Edward, 4, Arthur, 3, and Edith, aged one.¹³
     John has not been found in the 1891 census. His wife Annie was recorded as Annie Sackett, a domestic servant (a cook), married, aged 36 and born in West Malling, Kent. She was living at 26 Bouverie Road West, Folkestone, Kent^G, as a servant in the household of Charles Miller Layton, a retired soldier.¹⁴ There had evidently been a domestic upheaval as John's children had all been re-housed. Four of the children, Edward, 14, and Arthur, 12, by the first marriage, and Harry, 6, and Clara, 5, by the second marriage, were in care at the Cottage Homes for Elham Union at Cheriton, Kent. Of the other children of the first marriage, Edith, 11, was in domestic service in Folkestone, and John, 10, was a lodger in the household of a greengrocer, also in Folkestone.

Edward Henry Sackett, son of John Ashby Sackett and Sarah Ann Strood, was born in Ramsgate, Kent^G, in 1876^1,2 and baptized at Folkestone Church, Folkestone, Kent^G, on 2 February 1880.³ He died aged 82 at the Whittington Hospital, St Pancras, London^G, on 5 April 1958.^4,5 He married in Edmonton, Middlesex^G, in 1915, Sarah Elizabeth Foster.^6,7
     In 1881 Edward was living at 3 James Terrace, Folkestone, Kent^G, in the household of his parents John and Sarah, and was recorded in the census as Edward H Sackett, aged four and born in Ramsgate, Kent.⁸
     In 1891 he was living at Cottage Homes for Elham Union, Cheriton, Kent^G, and was recorded as Edward Sackett, inmate, aged 14, and born in Folkestone [actually Ramsgate]. Also in the home were his brothers, Arthur and Harry, and sister, Clara.⁹
     Edward left a will which was proved on 21 May 1958 by his widow Sarah. His estate was valued at £759.¹⁰

Arthur Ashby "Albert" Sackett, son of John Ashby Sackett and Sarah Ann Strood, was born in Folkestone, Kent^G, in 1878^1,2 and baptized at Folkestone Church^G on 2 February 1880.³ He died aged 50 in Sculcoates, Yorkshire^G, on 1 January 1929.^4,5,6 He married at Ramsgate Christ Church, Kent^G, on 25 September 1901, Harriet Jane Haywood "Ettie" (Dray) Kember, daughter of Mary Ann Foster Dray.^7,8 Harriet was born in Ramsgate^G on 16 March 1864^9,2,10 and died aged 76 in Hull, Yorkshire^G, in 1940.¹¹
     In 1881 Arthur was living at 3 James Terrace, Folkestone^G, in the household of his parents John and Sarah, and was recorded in the census as Arthur J Sackett, aged three and born in Folkestone.¹²
     In 1891 he was living at Cottage Homes for Elham Union, Cheriton, Kent^G, and was recorded as Arthur Sackett, inmate, aged 12 and born in Folkestone. Also in the home were his brothers, Edward and Harry, and sister, Clara.¹³
     In 1911 he was living at 22 Abbot's Hill, Ramsgate^G, and was recorded as Arthur Ashby Sackett, an out of work fisherman, head of household, aged 37 and born in Folkestone. Living with him were his wife Harriet, 47, Harriet's widowed mother Mary Ann Foster Dray, 72, Harriet's daughter Matilda, 16, and Arthur Henry Dray, aged five, a nephew.¹⁴ Arthur overstated his age by four years in the census, and appears also to have similarly overstated his age to his wife, who was fourteen years older than him. He died at age 50 but his death record, presumably based on information supplied by his widow, gives his age as 55.
     In 1921, Arthur's wife Harriett, aged 57, was living at 98 Eastbourne Street, Sculcoates, Yorkshire^G, with her daughter Matilda, 26, from her first marriage, and her widowed mother Mary, 82.¹⁵
     At the outbreak of the Second World War in September 1939, Arthur's widow Harriet was living at 3 Liverpool Terrace, Kingston-upon-Hull, Yorkshire^G.¹⁶

Edith Annie Sackett, daughter of John Ashby Sackett and Sarah Ann Strood, was born in Folkestone, Kent^G, in 1880^1,2 and baptized at Folkestone Church^G on 8 April 1880.³
     In 1881 Edith was living at 3 James Terrace, Folkestone, Kent^G, in the household of her parents John and Sarah, and was recorded in the census as Edith A Sackett, aged one and born in Folkestone.⁴
     In 1891 she was living at 50 Pavillion Road, Folkestone, Kent^G, in the household of Stephen Dunn, a carpenter, and was recorded as Edith Sackett, a domestic servant, aged 13, and born in Folkestone.⁵ [Edith would have just turned eleven at the date of the census.]

Harry Sackett, son of John Ashby Sackett and Annie Sarah (Skinner) Stuart, was born in Bromley, Kent^G, on 7 April 1884¹ and baptized at St Mary the Virgin, West Malling, Kent^G, on 3 May 1886.²
     In 1891 Harry was living at Cottage Homes for Elham Union, Cheriton, Kent^G, and was recorded in the census as Harry Sackett, inmate, aged six, and born in Folkestone [actually Bromley]. Also in the home were his brothers, Edward and Arthur, and sister, Clara.³

Clara Sackett, daughter of John Ashby Sackett and Annie Sarah (Skinner) Stuart, was born in West Malling, Kent^G, on 30 January 1886¹ and baptized at St Mary the Virgin, West Malling^G, on 3 May 1886.² She died aged 68 in Edmonton, Middlesex^G, in 1954.³ She married at Elham, Kent^G, in 1915, Jacobus J Van Nieuwkerk.^4,5
     In 1891 Clara was living at Cottage Homes for Elham Union, Cheriton, Kent^G, and was recorded in the census as Clara Sackett, inmate, aged five and born in Folkestone [actually Malling]. Also in the home were her brothers, Edward, Arthur, and Harry.⁶

Eva Sackett, daughter of John Ashby Sackett and Annie Sarah (Skinner) Stuart, was born in Milton, Kent^G, in 1888.¹

Charlotte Emma Sackett, daughter of John Ashby Sackett and Elizabeth Sophia Silvester, was born in Pancras, Middlesex^G, in 1857.¹ She died aged 61 in Winchester, Hampshire^G, in 1920.² She married in Fulham, Middlesex^G, in 1883, Arthur Raddon, son of Hugo Raddon and Matilda Mardon.³ Arthur was born in Monkton, Devon^G, in 1857^4,5 and died in Sudbury, Suffolk^G, in 1951.⁶

     In 1871 she was living at 19 Chapel Place, Ramsgate, Kent^G, in the household of her parents John and Elizabeth, and was recorded as Charlotte Sackett, aged 13 and born in London.⁸
     In 1901 she was living at 9 Fairfield Road, Winchester^G, in the household of her husband Arthur, 43, a tailor, and was recorded as Charlotte E Raddon, aged 43 and born in St Pancras.⁹
     In 1911 she was living at 9 Fairfield Road, Winchester^G, in the household of her husband Arthur, 52, a tailor, and was recorded as Charlotte Emma Raddon, aged 52 and born in St Pancras.¹⁰

Anne Elizabeth Sackett, daughter of John Ashby Sackett and Elizabeth Sophia Silvester, was born in Pancras, Middlesex^G, in 1861.¹ She married in Thanet, Kent^G, in 1880, Edward Moody, a grocer.^2,3
     In 1871 Anne was living at 19 Chapel Place, Ramsgate, Kent^G, in the household of her parents John and Elizabeth, and was recorded in the census as Elizabeth Sackett, a scholar, aged 9, and born in London.⁴
     In 1881 she was living at 24 Southwood Terrace, St Lawrence in Thanet, Kent^G, in the household of her husband Edward, a grocer, and was recorded as Annie Moody, aged 19, and born in Middlesex. Living with them were their son Edward, aged four months, Annie's 12-year-old brother Frank Sackett, and Mary Foster, a 70-year-old lodger.⁵

Frank William Silvester Sackett, son of John Ashby Sackett and Elizabeth Sophia Silvester, was born in Ramsgate, Kent^G, in 1869.^1,2 He died in Maidstone, Kent^G, in 1944.³ He married in Brentford, Middlesex^G, in 1893, Lily Churm.^4,5 She was born in Oakengates, Shropshire^G, about 1873^2,6 and died aged 73 in Maidstone, Kent^G, in 1946.⁷
     In 1871 Frank was living at 19 Chapel Place, Ramsgate, Kent^G, in the household of his parents John and Elizabeth, and was recorded in the census as Frank Sackett, aged two and born in Ramsgate.⁸

Living with him were his wife Lily, aged 29 and born in Shropshire, and their children, Frank, 6, and Ellen, aged two.¹¹
     In 1911 he was living at 17 Paxton Road, Chiswick, Middlesex^G, and was recorded as Frank Sackett, a labourer at the soap house, head of household, aged 39 [actually 42] and born in Ramsgate. Living with him were his wife Lily, 37, and their children, Frank, 16, Ellen, 12, and Lily, aged five.¹²
     In 1921 he was living at 4 Hampstead Villas, Yalding, Kent^G, and was recorded as Frank Sackett, yard foreman at a soap and insecticides manufacturers, head of household, aged 51. Living with him were his wife Lillie, 49, and their daughter Lillie, aged 15.¹³

Frank William Sackett, son of Frank William Silvester Sackett and Lily Churm, was born in Chiswick, Middlesex^G, on 12 December 1894.^1,2,3 He died aged 45 at home at Ladybird Cottage, Yalding, Kent^G, on 25 May 1940^4,5,6 and was buried at Yalding Cemetery, Kent^G.⁵ He married in Maidstone^G in 1919, Lydia Ellen Hawkes.^7,8 She was born in Brentford^G on 5 August 1890.^9,10,11 She died aged 84 in Tonbridge, Kent^G, on 20 October 1974^5,12 and was buried at Yalding Cemetery^G.⁵
     In 1901 Frank was living at 2 Hunt Street, Chiswick, Middlesex^G, in the household of his parents Frank and Lily, and was recorded in the census as Frank Sackett, aged six and born in Chiswick.¹³
     In 1911 he was living at 17 Paxton Road, Chiswick, Middlesex^G, in the household of his parents Frank and Lily, and was recorded as Frank Sackett, a labourer at the soap house, aged 16 and born in Chiswick.¹⁴
     In 1921 he was living at Killicks Cottages, Yalding, Kent^G, and was recorded as Frank William Sackett, a worker at McDougall & Yalding Ltd, head of household, aged 26. His wife Ellen, 30, was living with him.¹⁵
     At the outbreak of the Second World War in September 1939, Frank and Lydia were living at Styles Cottage, Maidstone, Kent^G. He was a general labourer in a manufacturing company.¹⁶
     Frank left a will which was proved on 3 July 1940 by his widow Lydia. His estate was valued at £279.¹⁷

Geoffrey Frank Sackett, son of Frank William Sackett and Lydia Ellen Hawkes, was born in Maidstone, Kent^G, on 16 February 1922.^1,2 He died aged 78 in Maidstone, Kent^G, on 29 May 2000.^2,3,4 He married first in Malling, Kent^G, in 1940, Lily May Elcombe, daughter of William Elcombe and May M Homewood.^5,6 Lily was born in Malling^G on 29 April 1923.^8,9 She died aged 48 in Maidstone^G on 8 June 1971.^2,10 He married second in Maidstone, Kent^G, in 1974, Kathleen D Crundwell.⁷
     At the outbreak of the Second World War in September 1939, Geoffrey was living at Styles Cottage, Maidstone, Kent^G, with his parents, Frank and Lydia. He was a lorry driver's mate.¹¹ Lily was living at Snoll Hatch, Malling, Kent^G, with her parents, William and May. She was a domestic servant.¹²
     Geoffrey left a will which was proved in Brighton, Sussex^G, on 7 August 2000.⁴
