George William Sackett, son of Henry Sackett and Mary Ann Elizabeth Allen, was born in Thanet, KentG, on 4 June 1865.1,2 He died aged 68 in Queensland, AustraliaG, on 26 August 1933.3 He married in Queensland on 13 February 1889, Eliza Shaxson, daughter of George Shaxson and Isabella Davidson.4 Eliza died in QueenslandG on 1 November 1941.5
     In 1871 George was living at 86 Queen Street, Ramsgate, KentG, in the household of his parents Henry and Mary, and was recorded in the census as George W Sackett, aged five and born in Ramsgate.6
     In 1881 he was living at House Decor Shop, 86 Queen Street, Ramsgate, KentG, in the household of his parents Henry and Mary, and was recorded as George W. Sackett, aged 15 and born in Ramsgate. He was working as an assistant in his father's house decorating business.7
     George was listed in 1903 and 1905 living at Petty Street, Cilmerton, QueenslandG, and working as a sign writer.8
     George revisited England in 1911, departing London for Australia on 21 July 1911 on the Ophir, accompanied by his brother Allen.9

Harry Howard Sackett, a house decorator of Ramsgate, Kent, son of Henry Sackett and Mary Ann Elizabeth Allen, was born in RamsgateG on 2 November 1866.1 He died aged 56 in Lambeth Hospital, LondonG, on 4 December 1922.2,3 He married in Wandsworth, LondonG, in June 1919, Ann Maria Duncombe.4,5 Ann was born in Oundle, NorthamptonshireG, about 1873.6,7 She died aged 84 at home at 54 Dacres Road, Lewisham, KentG, on 1 January 1958.8,3
     In 1871 Harry was living at 86 Queen Street, Ramsgate, KentG, in the household of his parents Henry and Mary, and was recorded in the census as Harry H Sackett, aged four and born in Ramsgate.9
     In 1881 he was living at House Decor Shop, 86 Queen Street, RamsgateG, in the household of his parents Henry and Mary, and was recorded as Henry W. Sackett, aged 14 and born in Ramsgate. He was working as an assistant in his father's house decorating business.10
     In 1891 he was living at 48 High Street, RamsgateG, and was recorded as Harry H Sacketts, a house decorator, head of household, unmarried, aged 24 and born in Ramsgate. Also in the household was his brother Richard, 22, also a house decorator.11
     In 1901 he was living at 16 Grosvenor Road, Richmond, SurreyG, in the household of Arthur and Eleanor Haggar, and was recorded as Harry Sackett, a builder's manager, a lodger, single, aged 34.12
     In 1921 he was living at 119 Bedford Road, Clapham, LondonG, and was recorded as Harry Howard Sackett, an unemployed builders clerk, head of household, aged 54. His wife Ann Maria, 47, was living with him.13
     Harry left a will which was proved on 7 February 1923 by his widow Ann. His estate was valued at £75.14
     Harry's widow Ann left a will which was proved on 31 January 1958 by an Amy Duncombe. Her estate was valued at £257.15

Richard Edward Sackett, son of Henry Sackett and Mary Ann Elizabeth Allen, was born in Ramsgate, KentG, on 18 March 1868.1,2 He died aged about 65 in Manly, New South Wales, AustraliaG, in 1933.3,4 He married at Wandsworth, LondonG, in 1903, Ellen Elizabeth Wheeler, daughter of ___ Wheeler and ___ Sparry.5 Ellen was born in HerefordG on 15 April 1872.6,7 She died aged 74 in St Pancras, LondonG,8 and was buried at St Pancras CemeteryG on 6 September 1946.9

     In 1911 he was living at 43 Munster Square, St Pancras, LondonG, and was recorded as Richard Edward Sackett, a sign and glass worker, head of household, married, aged 44 and born in Ramsgate. Living with him was his wife Ellen, aged 39.14
     Richard emigrated sometime after 1911 to Australia. He served in the First World War, enlisting in the 3rd Battalion, Australian Imperial Force, on 10 November 1914.15 He stated on enlistment that he was unmarried.
     In 1921 Richard's wife Ellen was living alone at 29 Cobourg Street, St PancrasG, and was recorded in the census as Ellen Sackett, married, aged 49, a daily houseworker at a bespoke bootmakers in London's West End.16
     At the outbreak of the Second World War in September 1939, Richard's widow Ellen was living at 95 Stanhope Street, St PancrasG. She was a "daily" houseworker.17

Frederick Charles Sackett, son of Henry Sackett and Mary Ann Elizabeth Allen, was born in Ramsgate, KentG, on 30 October 1870.1,2 He died aged 54 at home at the Black Lion Hotel, Llanfairtalhaiarn, Denbighshire, WalesG, on 5 September 19253,4 and was buried at Llanfair Talhaearn, DenbighshireG, on 8 September 1925.8 He married first in Blean, KentG, in 1889, Clarissa Mary Wood.5 Clarissa was born about 18689 and died aged 35 in Mutford, SuffolkG, in 1903.10 He married second at St Andrew's Church, Plaistow, EssexG, on 8 December 1903, Mary Wackrill.6,7 Mary was born on 12 April 1876.11 She died aged 73 at home at 21 Lynton Walk, Rhyl, Flintshire, WalesG, on 15 March 195012,4 and was buried at Llanfair Talhaearn, DenbighshireG, on 18 March 1950.13
     In 1871 Frederick was living at 86 Queen Street, Ramsgate, KentG, in the household of his parents Henry and Mary, and was recorded in the census as Frederick C Sackett, aged five months and born in Ramsgate.14
     In 1881 he was living at House Decor Shop, 86 Queen Street, Ramsgate, KentG, in the household of his parents Henry and Mary, and was recorded as Frederick C Sackett, a scholar, aged 11 and born in Ramsgate.15
     In 1891 he was living at 2 Garibaldi Terrace, Herne Bay, KentG, and was recorded as Fredrk Sackett, a grocer's assistant, head of household, aged 23. Living with him were his wife Clarissa, 23, and their daughter Theodora, aged one.16
     In 1901 he was living at 20 Bath Street, Brighton, SussexG, and was recorded as Frederick C Sackett, a provision merchant manager, head of household, married, aged 31 and born in Ramsgate. Living with him were his wife Clarissa, 33, and their children, Theodora, 11, Gladys, 9, Frederick, 7, and Richard, aged four.17
     In 1911 he was living at 25 Copthorne Road, Wolverhampton, StaffordshireG, and was recorded as Frederick C Sackett, a provision merchant at a dairy company, head of household, aged 40. Living with him were his second wife, Mary, 34, their children, Charles, 4, and Arthur, aged two months, and Frederick's son Richard, 14, from his first marriage. Also in the household was a female general servant.18
     Frederick Charles was granted administration on 15 May 1917 of his son Frederick Henry's estate, valued at £44.19 Frederick Charles lost two sons in the First World War, Richard Rupert killed on 17 September 1916, and Frederick Henry killed three days later on 20 September.
     In 1921 he was living at 24 Egerton Road, Heaton Norris, Stockport, CheshireG, and was recorded as Frederick C Sackett, inspector of shops for the Maypole Dairy Company, head of household, aged 50. Living with him were his wife Mary, 45, their children, Charles, 14, and Arthur, 10, and Frederick's daughter Gladys, 30, by his first marriage. There was also a female domestic servant in the household.20
     Frederick Charles left a will which was proved on 19 October 1925 by his widow Mary. His estate was valued at £7,785.21
     At the outbreak of the Second World War in September 1939, Frederick's widow Mary was living at the Black Lion Hotel, Aled, Denbighshire, WalesG, where she was the hotel proprietress. Their son Arthur was manager of the hotel.22
     Frederick's widow Mary left a will which was proved on 27 April 1950 by solicitors. Her estate was valued at £1,872.23

Theodora Clarissa Beatrice "Dora" Sackett, daughter of Frederick Charles Sackett and Clarissa Mary Wood, was born in Whitstable, KentG, on 9 June 1889.1,2,3,4 She died aged 87 in WorcesterG in 1976.5 She married in St Andrew's Church, South Levenshulme, Manchester, LancashireG, on 29 July 1913, Howard Marshall, a bank clerk, son of Abraham Marshall.6,7,8 Howard was born about 1882.9

     Dora attended the Ipswich Municipal Secondary School, Ipswich, SuffolkG, from 17 June 1901, having previously attended the Stamford Road school, Brighton. She transferred to the upper school on 26 July 1901 and left there on 27 July 1903, aged 14, when she was "wanted at home". The family were living at 185 Princes Street.12,13

Frederick Henry Sackett, son of Frederick Charles Sackett and Clarissa Mary Wood, was born in St Peter in Thanet, KentG, in September 1893.1,2,3 He died aged 23 in FranceG on 20 September 1916.4,5 He was buried at the Mont Huon Military Cemetery, Le Treport, FranceG.6
     In 1901 Frederick was living at 20 Bath Street, Brighton, SussexG, in the household of his parents Frederick and Clarissa, and was recorded in the census as Frederick H Sackett, aged seven and born in St Peter's, Kent.7
     Fred attended the British Boys School, Ipswich, SuffolkG, from 17 June 1901, having previously attended a school in Brighton. The family were living at Princes Street. He left on 30 May 1904 when the family moved from Ipswich.8
     Frederick served as a Private in the Royal Warwickshire Regiment during the First World War. He was killed in action on the Western Front in France. His brother Richard had also been killed in action, just three days earlier.9,10
     Administration of Frederick's estate was granted on 15 May 1917 to his father. His estate was valued at £44.11

Richard Rupert Sackett, son of Frederick Charles Sackett and Clarissa Mary Wood, was born in Thanet, KentG, on 10 May 1896.1,2 He was baptized at St Luke's Church, Ramsgate, KentG, on 22 May 1896.3 He died in FranceG on 17 September 1916.4,5
     In 1901 Richard was living at 20 Bath Street, Brighton, SussexG, in the household of his parents Frederick and Clarissa, and was recorded in the census as Richard R Sackett, aged four and born in Ramsgate.6
     Richard attended the British Boys School, Ipswich, SuffolkG, from 23 April 1903, having transferred from the infants school. The family were then living at 185 Princes Street. He left on 30 May 1904 when the family moved to Bury St Edmunds.7
     In 1911 he was living at 25 Copthorne Road, Wolverhampton, StaffordshireG, in the household of his father Frederick and stepmother Mary, and was recorded as Richard Rupert Sackett, aged 14 and born in Ramsgate.8
     Richard Sackett served in the First World War as a private in the 6th Battalion, King's Shropshire Light Infantry. He was killed in action on the Somme and is commemorated on the Thiepval Memorial to the Missing of the Somme, which bears the names of more than 72,000 British and South African soldiers who were killed on the Somme and have no known graves. Richard's brother Frederick was also killed in action, just three days later.

Ernest Arthur Sackett, son of Henry Sackett and Mary Ann Elizabeth Allen, was born in Ramsgate, KentG, on 13 April 1877.1 He died aged 31 in Camberwell, LondonG, in 1909.2
     In 1881 Ernest was living at House Decor Shop, 86 Queen Street, RamsgateG, in the household of his parents Henry and Mary, and was recorded in the census as Ernest A Sackett, aged three and born in Ramsgate.3
     In 1891 he was living at 86 Queen Street, Ramsgate, KentG, in the household of his father Henry, and was recorded as Ernest A Sackett, a scholar, aged 13, and born in Ramsgate.4
     Ernest was a third cook on the SS Omrah, sailing from London and arriving in Sydney, New South WalesG, on 24 November 1899.5
     At the date of the 1901 census (1 April) Ernest was a prisoner in a cell at the Police Station, Montague Road, Heston, MiddlesexG. He was a fishmonger, single, aged 23.6

Alexander Allen Sackett, a commercial traveller, son of Henry Sackett and Mary Ann Elizabeth Allen, was born in Thanet, KentG, on 11 August 1881.1 He was baptized as an adult at St Peter in ThanetG on 16 December 1910.2 He died aged 66 at home at 41 Balfour Road, Walmer, KentG, on 1 September 1947.3,4 He married first in ThanetG in 1919, Gertrude Eliza Lawrence, daughter of Thomas Lawrence and Betsy Rolfe.5,6 Gertrude was born in St Peter in ThanetG in 1888.8,9 She died aged 51 at home at Downscroft, Old Rectory Gardens, Lingston Lane, Southwich, SussexG, on 3 March 1939.4,10 As far as is known, Alexander and Gertrude did not have children. He married second in Chichester, SussexG, in 1943, Eva Lizzie (Bridger) Philpott.7 Eva was born in West Ashford, KentG, in 188411 and died aged 70 at home at 41 Balfour Road, WalmerG, on 17 August 1954.4,12
     In 1891 Alexander was living at 86 Queen Street, Ramsgate, KentG, in the household of his father Henry, and was recorded in the census as Allen A Sackett, a scholar, aged nine and born in Ramsgate.13
     In 1901 he was living at 86 Queen StreetG in the household of his father Henry, and was recorded as Alexander Allen Sackett, aged 19.14
     Alexander was a Freemason, joining the Lewises Lodge, RamsgateG, on 14 November 1906. His father was a member of the same lodge.15
     In 1911 he was living at 5 The Vale, BroadstairsG, in the household of Charles Alfred Webb and family, and was recorded as Alexander Allen Sackett, a builder and decorator's assistant, single, aged 29.16
     Alexander removed to Australia, departing London for Brisbane on 21 July 1911 on the Ophir, accompanied by his brother George who lived in Australia and had been in England on a visit.17
     In 1913 Alexander was registered on the electoral roll for Brisbane. He was a commercial traveller, living at the YMCA, Edward Street, BrisbaneG.18
     Alexander served in the British Army during the First World War. He trained as a member of the Inns of Court Officer Training Corps. He was a Second Lieutenant in the Buffs (the East Kent Regiment), then a Lieutenant in the Royal West Kent Regiment where he was the assistant military forwarding officer. He was awarded the British and Victory medals and the 1914-15 Star having seen active service overseas, including the Egyptian theatre of war in 1915.19,20,21,22
     Alexander and Gertrude were registered on the electoral roll for Glamorgan, Wales, from 1923 to 1926. They were living at 10 Westbourne Crescent, Whitchurch, GlamorganG.23
     Alexander and Gertrude visited Genoa, Italy, in 1927, departing Liverpool on the Prinses Juliana on 9 June 1927. They were then living in Ashton upon Mersey, now part of Greater Manchester.24
     Alexander proved his sister Helen's will on 6 February 1930. Her estate was valued at £1,018.25
     Alexander proved his wife Gertrude's will on 30 March 1939. Her estate was valued at £7,309.26
     At the outbreak of the Second World War in September 1939, Alexander was living in Southwick, SussexG. He was widowed, a retired commercial traveller.27
     Alexander left a will which was proved on 25 November 1947 by his widow Eva. His estate was valued at £9,328.28
     Alexander's widow Eva left a will which was proved on 16 October 1954. Her estate was valued at £8,702.29
