Dorothy E Sackett, daughter of Dwight Putman Sackett and Mary Jane Carty, was born in ColoradoG on 8 October 1903.1,2 She died aged 78 on 18 February 19823 and was buried at Old Sunnyside Cemetery, Sunnyside, Yakima County, Washington StateG.5 She married in SunnysideG on 6 January 1926, Oliver A Bond, a farmer, son of W E Bond and Florence E Burt.4 Oliver was born in MichiganG on 2 August 1893.1,2,6 He died aged 93 on 13 December 1986 and was buried at Old Sunnyside CemeteryG.2

Raymond Chesley "Ray" Sackett, son of Dwight Putman Sackett and Mary Jane Carty, was born in Salt Lake County, UtahG, on 23 April 1907.1 He died there aged 87 on 26 March 19952 and was buried at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park, Salt Lake CityG.4 He married in Salt Lake CountyG on 4 May 1929, Cleota Elvira Boren, daughter of John Coleman Boren and Annie Margaret Fugal.3 Cleota was born in Oakley, Cassia County, IdahoG, on 28 July 1910.4 She died aged 96 in Salt Lake CountyG on 25 September 2006 and was buried at Wasatch Lawn Memorial ParkG.4
     In 1910 Raymond was living at State Street, Salt Lake City, UtahG, in the household of his parents Dwight and Mary, and was recorded in the census as Ray C Sackett, aged three and born in Utah.5
     In 1920 he was living at West Taylor Avenue, Salt Lake CityG, in the household of his parents Dwight and Mary, and was recorded as Raymond Sacket, aged twelve.6
     Ray was listed in the Salt Lake City Directory from 1928.7
     In 1930 he was living at East on 27th South, Salt Lake CityG, and was recorded as Raymond C Sackett, a welder at an oil refinery, head of household, aged 22. He rented his home. Living with him was his wife Cleota, aged 19.8
     Raymond completed a World War II draft registration card in 1940. He was aged 33 and was living with his wife Cleota in Salt Lake CityG. He was employed by State Road Shops.9

Dwight Putnam Sackett Jr, son of Dwight Putman Sackett and Mary Jane Carty, was born in Salt Lake City, UtahG, on 28 February 1912.1,2 He died aged 69 in Melrose, Middlesex County, MassachusettsG, on 21 November 1981.3,4 He married in Boston, Suffolk County, MassachusettsG, on 28 December 1941, Evelyn May Cristiano.5 Evelyn was born in BostonG on 18 May 19135 and died aged 90 on 12 January 2004.5
     In 1920 Dwight was living at West Taylor Avenue, Salt Lake CityG, in the household of his parents Dwight and Mary, and was recorded in the census as Dwight Sacket, aged eight and born in Utah.6
     In 1930 he was living at West 24th South Street, Salt Lake CityG, in the household of his parents Dwight and Mary, and was recorded as Dwight Sackett Jr, aged 18.7
     Dwight attended Granite High School, Salt Lake CityG. He was a member of the Spanish club and played football for the school in 1931.8
     Dwight completed a World War II draft registration card in 1940. He was then aged 28 and was employed in Public Works Administration in Washington, DCG.9
     Dwight served in the USAAF from 3 July 1951 to 18 January 1952.10

Edward Ivan Sackett, son of Dwight Putman Sackett and Mary Jane Carty, was born in Salt Lake City, UtahG, on 26 September 1916.1,2,3 He died aged 86 at St Mary's Hospital, Langhorne, Bucks County, PennsylvaniaG, on 18 November 2002.4,5 He married at Greenville, Hillsborough County, New HampshireG, on 6 May 1950, Dorothy Mary Rodier, daughter of Oswald O Rodier and Clarabelle Bosselait.6 Dorothy was born in New HampshireG about 1923.7
     In 1920 Edward was living at West Taylor Avenue, Salt Lake CityG, in the household of his parents Dwight and Mary, and was recorded in the census as Edward Sacket, aged three and born in Utah.8
     In 1930 he was living at West 24th South Street, Salt Lake CityG, in the household of his parents Dwight and Mary, and was recorded as Edward Sacket, aged 13.9
     Edward was listed in the Salt Lake City Directory from 1928 to 1941.10
     Edward completed a World War II draft registration card in 1940. He was aged 24 and was employed in the Norfolk Navy Yard. He was living in Portsmouth, VirginiaG. His father Dwight was named as next of kin.11

Edward I. Sackett

Edward I. Sackett, 86, of Trenton, died Monday at St. Mary's Hospital in Langhorne, Pa. Born in Salt Lake City, Utah, Mr. Sackett lived in the Trenton area for 30 years.
     He was an iron worker for over 30 years in which time he helped build the Union Carbide Building in New York, the Bell Building in Boston, Mass., the Tapanzee Bridge in Nyack, N.Y., and the Fairless Steel Plant in Bucks County, Pa. After his retirement he moved to Yuma, Arizona for the past 20 years, and recently moved back to the area to be near his family.
     He is a member of Incarnation Church and a member of the Holy Name Society. He was past Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus. He loved ballroom dancing, playing pool, and bowling.
     He is the son of the late Dwight Putnam and Mary Jane Carty Sackett. He is survived by four daughters, Jane Coult and her companion, Charles Muller of Hamilton Twp., N.J., Kathy Caola and her husband John of Brick, N.J., Gail Bondi of Lawrenceville, N.J., and her fiance, Edward McElroy, Mary Beth Novak and her husband, John, Jr. of Hamilton, N.J; three sons, John R. Sackett of Port Republic, N.J., Charles Sackett of Trenton, N.J., Steven Sackett, Sr. of Somersville, N.J; 13 grandchildren; three great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; and a dear friend of many years, Norma Miller of Lincoln, Nebraska.
     Funeral will be held on Friday at 9:45 a.m. at the M. Wm. Murphy Funeral Home, 935 Parkway Ave., in Ewing, N.J. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. at Incarnation Church. Entombment will be in St. Mary's Mausoleum. Calling hours will be on Thursday evening from 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Richard R "Dick" Sackett, son of Cyril Dobson Sackett and Betty Jane Raymond, was born in Stewartville, Olmsted County, MinnesotaG, on 12 May 1932.1 He died aged 85 on 4 June 2017.1 He married on 16 August 1953, Belva Sanborn.1
     In 1940 Richard was living in Pleasant Grove, Olmsted CountyG, in the household of his parents Cyril and Betty, and was recorded in the census as Richard A Sackett, aged seven and born in Minnesota.2
     In 1950 he was living in Pleasant GroveG in the household of his parents Cyril and Betty, and was recorded as Richard Sackett, a student, aged 17.3

Richard "Dick" R. Sackett, 85, of Hastings, died peacefully on June 4, 2017.
     He was born May 12, 1932, in Stewartville to Cyril and Betty Sackett. He married Belva Sanborn on Aug. 16, 1953.
     He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Curtis and Jan.
     He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Belva Sackett; children, Sherry (Jim) Bjostad, Mark (Nancy) Sackett, and Sue (Joe) Becker; grandchildren, Matt (Kate) Bjostad, Annie (Dustin) Zastera, Ben (Jen) Sackett, Leslie Sackett, Amy Becker, and John Becker; five great-grandsons; brother, Dave (Annette); sisters-in-law, Mary Sackett and Margret Sackett; many nieces, nephews, and friends.
     A Funeral Service, officiated by the Rev. Wayne Allen, will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, June 8, at Our Saviour's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 400 9th St. W., Hastings. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, June 7, at Wise Family Funeral Home, 400 Spring St., Hastings, as well as one hour prior to the service at church. Interment will be at Pleasant Grove Cemetery near Stewartville, at a later date. Memorials preferred in lieu of flowers.

Jan Winston Sackett, son of Cyril Dobson Sackett and Betty Jane Raymond, was born in Rochester, Olmsted County, MinnesotaG, on 23 January 1949.1 He died there aged 59 on 23 January 2008 and was buried at Pleasant Grove Cemetery, Olmsted CountyG.1 He married first in Stewartville, Olmsted County, MinnesotaG, Kathryn Lowrie, and they were later divorced.1 He married second in StewartvilleG on 8 December 1990, Mary Rollie.1
     In 1950 Jan was living in Pleasant Grove, Olmsted CountyG, in the household of his parents Cyril and Betty, and was recorded in the census as Jan W Sackett, aged one and born in Minnesota.2

The funeral for Jan W. Sackett, 59, will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Stewartville United Methodist Church, with the Rev. John Kester officiating. A spring burial will be in Union Cemetery in Pleasant Grove.
     Mr. Sackett, of rural Stewartville, died Wednesday (Jan. 23, 2008) at Saint Marys Hospital in Rochester, following a brief illness with cancer.
     Jan Winston Sackett was born Jan. 23, 1949, in Rochester. He grew up on the family farm, graduated from Stewartville High School in 1967, and graduated from Mankato State University with a degree in business. He farmed in rural Stewartville and was owner of Sackett Insurance Agency. He married Kathryn Lowrie in Stewartville, and they were later divorced. On Dec. 8, 1990, he married Mary Rollie at the family farm, where they had resided since. With his wife, Mr. Sackett owned the Bank Gift Haus, Margaret's Tea Room, and Gold Street Pizza and Grille, all in Wykoff. Mrs. Sackett is also an agent for All-Ways Realty; she survives.
     Mr. Sackett was a longtime member of the Church of Christ in Pleasant Grove; was a board member and past president of Rochester Farmers Insurance and Southeast Mutual Insurance Co; and was currently serving as president of the Union Cemetery Association Board. He enjoyed traveling, vacationing in Branson, Mo., playing cards, going for stand-up morning coffee, and spending time with his grandchildren.
     In addition to his second wife, he is survived by a son, Abe (Kari) of Rochester; a daughter, Elizabeth (Jimmy) Gasten of Rochester; three stepdaughters, Gina Rollie of Cottage Grove, Minn., Jill Laures of Stewartville and Becky Rollie of Rochester; seven grandchildren; two brothers, and Richard (Belva) of Hastings, Minn., and David (Annette) of Stewartville. Other survivors include his stepmother, Eleanor (Earl) Lewis of Rochester; two stepsisters, Judy (Charles) Carl of Florida and Kay (Bob) Tegt of Austin; two stepbrothers, Gary Krofchalk of Dallas, Texas, and Jon (Paula) Krofchalk of Winona; and a sister-in-law, Margaret Sackett of Stewartville. He was preceded in death by his parents, Cyril and Betty Sackett; and a brother, Curtis.
     Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday at Stewartville United Methodist Church; from 8:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Sunday at Griffin-Gray Funeral Home in Stewartville; and an hour before the service Sunday at the church.

The funeral for Curtis Raymond Sackett will be 1:30 p.m. Friday at Zion Lutheran Church in Stewartville with the Revs. Jules Erickson and Ron Allen co-officiating. Burial will be in Union Cemetery in Pleasant Grove.
     Mr. Sackett, 59, of 202 Second Ave. S.W., a former area farmer, died Tuesday (March 23, 1999) at Saint Marys Hospital where he had been a patient two weeks. He had been ill several years.
     Born Jan 15, 1940, in Pleasant Grove Township, Olmsted County, he grew up on the family farm, attended a rural Pleasant Grove school and graduated from Stewartville High School. He farmed on the family farm until moving into Stewartville in 1980. On Sept. 29, 1958, he married Margaret Carol Weber at Zion Lutheran Church in Stewartville. She is employed by the Rochester School District. Mr. Sackett was a member of Zion Lutheran Church.
     In addition to his wife, survivors include two daughters, Cynthia (Mrs. Robert) Wiley of Byron and Lori (Mrs. Michael) Thinn of Stewartville; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; his father and stepmother, Cyril and Eleanor Sackett of Stewartville; and three brothers, Richard of Hastings, and David and Jan, both of Stewartville. He was preceded in death by his mother and a grandson.
     Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday and until 11:30 a.m. Friday at Griffin Gray Funeral Home in Stewartville and an hour before the service at the church.

The funeral service for Margaret Carol Sackett, 81, a lifelong Stewartville, MN resident will be at 11:00 A.M. on Monday (July 23, 2023) at Zion Lutheran Church in Stewartville with Rev. Tim Bowman officiating. Burial will take place at Union Cemetery in Pleasant Grove, MN. Mrs. Sackett died on Monday (July 17, 2023) surrounded by loving family, of natural causes at Mayo Clinic Rochester - Methodist Campus.
     Margaret was born March 29th, 1942 to Charles and Stella (Evenson) Weber. Margaret was born and raised in Stewartville where she attended Stewartville Schools. On September 29th, 1958 she married Curtis Sackett at Zion Lutheran Church where she was a lifelong member. Margaret worked for many years for both the Rochester School District as the kitchen manager for Willow Creek Middle School and with the Stewartville School District for the Tiger Time program. Margaret enjoyed gardening, reading, watching game shows and followed the Twins and Vikings. She loved time spent with family and especially enjoyed following her grandchildren and great grandchildren’s school and sporting activities.
     Margaret is survived by her daughter Lori Chinn of Stewartville, grandchildren Ryan (Danielle) Sackett, Nathan Sackett, Bobbie Wiley, Josh (Mandy) Wiley, Matt Wiley (Neeley Ryan), Megan Wiley (Cory Holftorf), Lynsey (Donald) Norwood, Amanda Chinn (James Krause), special great grandkids Austin, Chrisitian and Shelbie, along with 17 other wonderful great grandchildren. Margaret is preceded in death by her husband Curt, daughter Cindy Wiley, and two step grandsons Chris Wiley and Jeremy Wiley.
     A time of visitation for family and friends will be held from 4 to 6:00 P.M. on Sunday (July 23, 2023) at Griffin-Gray FH in Stewartville and 1 hr. prior to the service at Zion Lutheran Church in Stewartville on Monday morning. Services will also be live streamed by following the links at zion-stewartville.org. Arrangements are with Griffin-Gray F.H. in Stewartville.
