Death of Clarence Sackett.
After an illness of several weeks, Clarence J. Sackett passed away Sunday morning at his home on Center street. Deceased was a native of Michigan, 45 years of age, and had spent many years in Napa and Solano counties, where he numbered his friends by the legion. He was a man whom to know was to like, for he had a sunny disposition and frank manner that made him friends easily, and there was no task so arduous but he would attempt it to oblige a friend. He leaves a widow, two brothers, Arthur M. of Bay City, Mich., and Ernest of Marshall, Mich., and a sister, Mrs. T. B. Curtis of Monticello, Napa county.
The funeral will be held from the house this morning at 11 o'clock, and will be private.

Alice's obituary
Mrs. Alice M. Williams Dies
After Long Illness

Mrs. Alice May Williams, widow of the late Charles W. Williams and for many years a resident of St. Helena, passed away last Friday at the home of her brother, David P. Bales, on Orchard avenue, near Napa.
Mrs. Williams was born in Adele, Iowa, 77 years ago, and came to California with her parents when 10 years of age.
At one time Mr. and Mrs. Williams owned the property on the highway south of St. Helena until recently owned by the late C. J. Corcoran. For a number of years Mr. and Mrs. Williams resided in Hunts Grove, and after selling their home there several years ago went to Napa to make their home. Mrs. Williams had been in failing health since the death of her husband on January 24, 1946, and had since that time made her home with her brother.
Besides her brother, deceased is survived by four sisters, Mrs. Dulcie Christiansen and Mrs. Della Fawver, of Napa, Mrs. Millie Hoke, of Oroville, and Mrs. George DeBord, of Vallejo.
Two nieces whom Mr. and Mrs. Williams reared, Miss Anna Bales and Mrs. Lydia Livinghouse, both of San Francisco, survive, as do several other nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Tuesday morning at 11 o'clock from the Treadway Funeral Chapel in Napa, followed by burial in the family plot in Tulocay Cemetery.
