- Army records for Robert John Sackett include correspondence querying the paternity of Robert Alfred Sackett, born before Robert John Sackett and Maria Mayne were married. Maria stated that Robert John was the father. The child had been registered in the name Mayne, but Maria, who had stated that she was single when marrying Robert John, was not able to explain why Robert Alfred's birth certificate included reference to a surname Hornby, apparently entered as her former or maiden name.
